    I’m currently 20 years old and have a newfound respect for police officers and public service in general. I want to protect and serve my community on a local level. I have matured a lot since High school and am grateful for my current warehouse job but I want to Become a Leo because I know In these times of chaos this county needs young men and women to protect and be a positive influence

    I have a question. I applied for the police department in my state, I am 45 years old and definitely in shape for the job. The only concern I have due to the video I just listened to by you, you were saying something about medications. Well I am not on an antidepressant but the medicine I take is for anxiety, I don't have anxiety really bad, but I have been taking it for a few years now. It was prescribed by my doctor. I don't see a counselor though. Would this affect the chances of me joining?

    @user-rr1mn4px4e 4 дня назад

    For the maker of this video; If you know what the law is, as you claim, I find many cops are NOT familiar with the law. And far too many police officers are ignorant of our civil rights.i suspect too many cops choose to join law enforcement, because they have ego problems and the badge and authority it gives them, helps stroke their ego! Too many other candidates also join law enforcement, because they do not feel educated, skilled or qualified, for any other job! Personally,I do not feel very positive about American law enforcement! I don’t approve of qualified immunity. And I certainly do not like the gang- like culture, which not only exists, but strongly thrives, in the vast majority of police departments across this country. Am I saying all these negatives point to every cop? No, but it is true about far too many! Stay safe Officers. And please pick up a law book every now and then!.

    Not much else other than bad advice here. "Just be honest." Doesn't work. Honest people fail just as much, if not, more often than liars pass. They get manipulated into reacting to the truth and later confessing to something they didn't do. "Don't play games with it." Why not? That's what you do with toys. The machine doesn't do anything but measure how nervous you are, and reactions mean little more than a focal point in an interrogation after the fact. So react where you need to react, and relax where you need to relax. Even if you pass with flying colors, they'll find something to grill you on, so make sure you don't confess to anything.

      Just remember that being honest is not how you pass. Honest people fail and liars pass all the time. Just react to what you should react to, and relax where you need to relax. The machine measures nervousness. Even if you pass with flying colors, they'll find something to interrogate you on. Here's where people usually fail. Once the machine is off, you are technically not under any pressure, so they can use your confessions here. Even if the machine shows no reaction when they said it did, and even if you told the truth. Don't confess to anything.

    Spent 9.5yrs on the force sleek sleeve patrol, two years CID detective and 4.5yrs as k-9 handler. Several incidents I was involved in that really messed my head up. Double young children accidental shooting with 12ga. buck shot hitting them both. I was detective working a residential B&E case close by. Literally first on the scene before paramedics. Father was trying to do cpr in the front yard with both his boys 5 and 7 laying on the ground I checked for pulse in all three trained locations of the body on both. No pulse ems arrived hooked a pulse monitor on Both and I seen that one literally one triangle on the monitor and I immediately blamed myself that day forward because I could not get a pulse nor breathing and presumed both were DOA on my arrival. Shot at by a 19yo in 2009 6 months later a felony vehicle pursuit and a firearm was pulled on me as the suspected suspect jumped and ran from the vehicle. Just to name a few things and so much as a detective murders suicides etc. Here it is 2024 and that sh*t still haunts the hell out of me and I’ve been out LE since 2011. The nightmares the hyper vigilance all sorts of things. The accidental shooting sent me into excessive heavy drinking I broke down to my dad, a Vietnam vet, after a year or longer passed. I began driving commercial vehicles across the country to escape a lot of stuff and my mind searching for peace self healing anything. It didn’t work, I began driving local then the motorcycles and bars started up and the drinking became worse! Joined a riding organization and the partying became more and more frequent. Harmful thoughts passed through my mind alone at night at home. Those who called you a blue line brother ceased to stop calling and checking in with me from time to time after I left the force. I developed the anger towards previous co-workers who claimed they always had your back no matter what for 9.5 long years. It dawned on me, one day that they really don’t have your back and don’t care when you’re gone. It literally was just me taking care of me. All this happening or happened in my life while going through the big seperation/divorce and a nasty child custody battle with my ex wife because I was looking for happiness outside of my marriage. The pressures and problems just piled up. It took me. Many years to break the excessive drinking and wild partying in the bar room nights and leaving the biker organization I was involved in. I flowed through the alcohol women and bars. I finally just turned to Christ alone on my front porch aka my happy place where I always decompressed each day daily i cried in my drunken tears I asked Christ to help me sober up no whatever it took and to help me not drink as much and leave the jack Daniels bottle alone and months later he answered me. I began getting stomach cramps and hangovers that I never used to get even in the beginning staging of excessive drinking never a hangover or bad cramps in my stomach literally NEVER UNTIL THAT PRAYER TO CHRIST THAT NIGHT IN MY “HAPPY PLACE”. I have my occasional downfalls with beer as I still have a few beer every couple of days currently but rarely turn the whiskey bottle up now. A little over two years ago I met me sweet kind loving caring and understanding wife and here we are she is the best thing and very patient with me and gets me and my PTSD from LAW ENFORCEMENT. I am now able to cope with my PTSD to a higher level of understanding and also know it will never go away and I still have to have my “me time” alone for 30 minutes or more daily with no interruptions and my wife is very much understanding as to why I need that time alone. I’ve never sought therapy for hyper vigilance and PTSD and have always tried to find a way to make my life work for me. Now that my son is 20.5 and just got sponsored by the same agency I worked at and starting his LE journey I’ve warned him about PTSD and now the agency has their own hours of service on these two subjects and how they can reek havoc in your personal life and household. Talking about the problems and everything we see/seen on a daily basis was unheard of back then. You were literally a p***y or you were invested if it were even mentioned during my time on the force and at a sheriffs office they simply fired you without warning because you were potentially unstable. This is my story and I approve this message to anyone suffering get help! I sure wished I would have and I know it’s never to late and listening to my son tell me everything I had to learn alone recklessly and dangerously I probably should consider talking to a professional because it’s something LE/military current and former have to deal with daily! It never goes away!!

    To In Pursuit 360. I love your videos and this is very important the integrity aspect. While we want everyone to have integrity especially officers. Don’t take this out of context even though I’m not a cop I can understand how sometimes it’s extremely difficult for good officers to quote on quote rat on a partner. We’ve seen so many times where a good Officer tries to do the right thing and gets retaliated against. -Two famous examples: -The 1970s Case with Frank Sepico exposing bribery in the New York City Police Dept. -The 2022 Case out of Sunrise, Florida with the female officer who pulled the Supervisor off of the handcuffed suspect then the supervisor tried to choke her. While I’m not justifying covering things up I can see why it’s not as easy as it sounds.
