@@InPursuit360 scored very high in my oral panel interview with my local police department, thanks for all you advice really helped me stand out I feel like. In the background process right now. I will let you know how it goes!
Hello, I have an initial interview with The California Highway Patrol agency soon. I wanted to see if you can give me some tips other than shared on this video. Thanks.
First, good luck. Second, go to their web site and really study their mission statement "The mission of the California Highway Patrol is to provide the highest level of Safety, Service, and Security". Look through the website and see how they think and what they stress. Remember most state police agencies consider themselves to be the premier law enforcement agency in the state, therefore their expectations are high. Good luck.
Get a good nights sleep, eat a smaller comfortable breakfast, cut back a little on the coffee, no energy drinks. Breath deep and think of the experience as a great learning opportunity. Have fun and good luck, let us know how it goes.
Hello, I've been watching your content for about a month now and I was wondering if you have any tips or information for getting hired as a Type 1 insulin-dependent diabetic. I know I have to take care of myself more than the average candidate and that I could be considered too much of a liability for some departments, but I've decided that I'm going to try despite all of that. Any information you can provide would be appreciated.
Like you said, be extra healthy. Demonstrate your commitment to take care of yourself and remaining healthy. Be sure to explain how are you going to be prepared to respond to a call that you get stuck on for 8 to 12 hours (packed snacks, extra meds on your person, be sure your partners are aware of your situation) We had a Type 1 at the Sheriffs Office, he was K-9 for years. He did fine until he separated from his wife and let his health go. Good luck and go for it.
Hello Sir. Thank you for the advice. I just finished my backgrounds interview. Now I have the polygraph and psych exam coming up later this September. Any advice you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Also can you do a thorough video on polygraph and psych evaluation expectations? What type of candidate are they seeking?
Any advice for either video or telephone interviewing? Also, any insites about applying for Probation Officer during the interviews for the job? And what could be the differences between police oral boards compared to Probation Officer oral boards?
Publishing a video today for your first question, video interviews. My only ideas about probation would be a guess, the guess would be look for questions that deal with what if scenarios. What if one of your people miss an appointment, the rules say you have to report it to the court, but the person explains they had a family member who was in a bad car crash, what would you do and why. Again, just a guess it would be something like that.
I am very excited to have my talk with you this weekend! You offer so much value and appreciate you doing this for all of us out here!
'tailor your answer' seems to be the key phrase for all these questions. thanks! cheers.
I really love and wait for your great videos always great knowledge. Thank you sir.
As always, appreciate the kind words. Take care.
I’ll be of age and qualified for many departments in my area, I’m definitely applying! Thank you for helping me prepare
That's what I'm here for, good luck and share how your journey is going.
