Carolina Custom Classics

Добавлен 13 июл 2015
Hey I'm Cody! Welcome to my channel. I'm a young hotrodder, who is fighting to save as many classic cars as I can. My channel is predominantly will it run and junkyard videos, where I take an abandoned car and bring her back to life using simple techniques and cost effective products. I also "restore" cars back to decent looking street cruising rods, nothing on this channel is completely restored and never will be, this channel is for us on a budget who just love classic cars. I specialize in 1940s, 1950s and 1960s but occasionally venture out a couple decades. I am 27 years old and I hope to get more young people involved in our great hobby, we must have young men and women to carry on our tradition and that's my goal. I'd really appreciate it if you'd subscribe to my channel and watch me goof off with old cars. Thanks and God Bless!

Ya id pick away at body work
Shouldn't run it no trans fluid
Down in fluid
Down in fluid
30 years ago car was probably near new looking
Tap carb needle stuck
That's pontiac for ya
Hope u change oil in itid be fixing the rust and paint it myself i hate what u guys call patina.
Hope u change oil in it
I had 1 with the 455 it was fast
"I aint a violent man, but i just kinda wanna slap this guy" 😂😂😂😂😂
Reminds me of the one my friend jim had in spartanburg about 20 years ago
Yeah they’re pretty cool cars, I’ve always liked them. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Dude Before You start adjusting anything Hook a gas can to fuel pump and let it run on it own, The Idle might come down when warm
Thanks yeah it seems to be running pretty good now!
The Cable go's to the Carburetor ., For kick down from Transmission
Thanks, I was curious about that!
Appreciate you for watching too!
Knock the timing back and ur STARTER WILL THANK YOu 😊
Thanks! Yeah I definitely need to lol
@ u really “lucked up” on this one!! we don’t say it the other way where I’m from lol
Love ya all
Appreciate the love! Thanks for watching!!
27:05 kick down cable Frm TRANS to CARB LINKAGE
Thanks I was curious about that! Appreciate you watching!
I would have been curious to have seen the VIN (at least everything but the last six digits) and the cowl tag to see what this started life as.
Alright I’ll try to include it in my next video for you, thanks for watching!
Thanks for saving another one. I had a 80 camaro like the burgundy one you have in high school 35 years ago. What are your plans with it?
My pleasure! I try to save as many as possible, hurts me seeing them go to the scrapyard. The Camaro is actually my mom’s project I bought her to fix up because it was the same car as her first ever car
Also thanks for watching, much appreciated!
✌️
Very cool
Thanks much appreciated!
I also had a t-top black 79 Z28 with a badass 56 nomad 327 in it and two short body 82 cutlasses with 455 small block trans am motors in them lol
That's awesome! You had some sweet rides. I’m looking forward to actually getting it moving down the road. Hopefully next video?
I would gut and clean the interior and trunk, leave the buckets, lube and grease the hell outta everything, put on some good new shocks, run some posi bars, put 60s on the back and 50s on the front, maybe hi performance brakes, and would make everything under the hood mint, and do everything in my power to make that patini look sweet, and of course seal and add window trim rings! Shine those rims! I put a badass 455 in a small body olds station wagon in the late 80s, and would outrun stangs loaded with people and cruise from Arkansas to Daytona back and forth running with BMWs and Mercedes using their radars running 100 just purring! I miss that motor and car! You got lucky there! 💪🤟👌👍
Yeah I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all comes together! Thanks for the ideas and for watching! I’ve heard they’re a great engine, i really got lucky with it!
New Sub here paint her put ACC Carpet all New cheap parts and Rise the Phoenix/This One's for Burt Reynolds Smokey and the Bandit
Thanks for watching and subscribing! That would definitely be cool!!
Excellent Video Brother Cody :) , Faith Green :) also what gotten me interested Pontiac Firebord or Trans Am was Smokey In The Bandit orgnail with Burt Reynolds , Cannaoball Run 1 + 2 also my late Cousin John G JR had 1982 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS white body plus blue decals and interoir ! He had got me help him a 1973 Pontiac Trans Am 400 V8 4 barrel no ram air induction air cleaner hook up and Turbo 700SR 4 speed Automatic transmission shift rebuild, rear end from 377 to 388 type 12 bolt posi ! Then lots other I knew over years and I did want one could 2 year s years ago and a lady friend had for sale but missed out ! Was 1984 Pontiac Trans Am Silver One was shocking had Am Radio factory Delco radio and need minor repairs! Also Cody put new rebuilt starter on car plus get black or grey STP total treatment of fuel injection and carb cleaner in fuel tank with 89 with 5 % Ethonal or 91 no % Ethonal and get from Loves or fuel stations find ! Plus add 100 ml of 80W90 differential in engine oil and rad help lube motor plus more! On February 14 2025 get Faith and yourself a nice St.Valentines Day gift 🎁 you to !
Wow, that's awesome! I love the stories about all the cool cars you've worked on. And I will definitely do that, thanks for watching brother much appreciated!
Why dontbyou rebuild the carb or put a new edlebrok on it you know your going to need to
Yeah I was thinking about doing that, hopefully do that soon. Thank you for watching much appreciated!
Set the timeing and turn up the idel some
That’s definitely on the todo list, thanks!
New here.diggin the firebird. Used to have one but with a Chevy 350.. currently playing with a 455 in my 64 Cutlass
Thanks, glad you like it! I love those old Cutlasses!
FYI Pontiac didn’t have a “big block” 326,350,400,455 all look exactly the same. So if that car has a 455 it’s been swapped in from an earlier Pontiac. Should be fun when it’s done. I have a 79/400/4 speed car.
Wow very interesting! I can’t wait to drive it, I’ve heard they’re pretty torquey
Right now is the time to hop on the late second-gen mullet firechickens! They used to be a dime a dozen When We were Young..... But now they're really scarce..... And subsequently gaining in value FAST! thankfully i snapped up my '78 formula 350 4 years ago, because now its almost doubled in value.
Yeah you're absolutely right! They have such a cool look about them, I never see them decreasing in value. Thanks for watching!!
That linkage cable u see is for the transmission
Thanks I was wondering what that was, appreciate you for watching!
Get it running and driving good again and leave the patina on it!!!!
I agree that would be really cool! Thank you for watching!
Sounds like it has just a little to much timing in it or you just need to put the vacuum line on the vacuum advance that we saw was missing when you capped off the oil line
Thanks, yeah I'll have to adjust the timing asap! Thanks for watching!
I love the 76 formula do some video's on it
Thanks! Yeah I had a will it run video on it but lost the footage sadly.
good job getting that beast running
Thank you I appreciate that and you for watching!
Can’t get over how GOOD that firebird sounds!! Definitely one for the books!
I know right? It has such a cool sound!
Also sounds like timing is off some as to why it is slightly hard to start.
Thanks I appreciate that! I was wondering why it was like that, thanks for watching!
@@CarolinaCustomClassics Hopefully that is the issue. That will make a nice sleeper. A 455 in a firebird... Unheard of. Just clean it up some. Good find.
That cable looks like the kick down cable?
Thanks I was trying to figure that out!
@@CarolinaCustomClassics It was probably disconnected due to the B&M shifter? If that is what it is.
Not a huge "patina" fan, but the way that bird ghosted into the hood is one the baddest things I've ever seen. Very friggin cool!
I agree!! Thanks for watching!
Awesome 👍 Bird Bro
Thanks!! I'm glad you like it!
Hell ya!!!!!!! Great video and awesome find with the Bird!!!! Can't wait to see more!!!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, I'm excited to keep working on it.
That’s a cool find
Thanks I agree!
Excellent video brother 🙏👍 love your channel
Thanks brother much appreciated!! Glad you enjoyed it!
I love firebird! A friend had one in high school.
Me too, they have such a cool look! Thanks for watching!
Nice! I had a 77 6.6 4 speed
Thanks! Wow that’s awesome! Definitely good looking cars!
I give you credit because you gapped the spark plugs, so many people think the companies do it correctly for you and that's hilarious 😂 to think that 🤣.
Thanks! Yeah it’s definitely a key step in the process haha
