Call the 57 "Dobie Gillis" from the TV series started in 1959 called the "Many loves of Dobie Gillis". He just passed away at 87 years old. A great tribute to the late 50's
I'd vote for you to name it "Peggy Sue" Like the 1957 Buddy Holly song of the same name. She's coming along great! i love that you're doing it on a budget, especially because it inspires others to go out and do it themselves, and that you don't need to be rich to own one of these if you know how to sweat. Big thumbs up from me.
I have never had to use one of those flex radiator hoses since an old hot rodder taught me a trick. You take a coat hanger, bend it to the connecting points, cut it off at that length, then go through the pile of hoses at the auto parts store until you find a section that matches. After you trim it to match the section, it will fit so good, it will seem like it was made for your car.
Nice old Chevy. I always hated doing brake lines. One thing I learned if the lines are shot cut them at the connection or wheel cylinders /junction block and tap on a 6 point socket makes life easier. The old car is a survivor. The name of pig pen is just calling to me not sure why but it just fits. Love the old keystone wheels and the floor repair is perfect. I do it like that to. It works.
Call it "Summertime Blues" with Eddie Cochran's Rockabilly 50's Hit... I dig that for 50's... mind you I'm only 60 so I'm not quite vintage but my Dad drove us around in a 54 Pontiac for my first number of years and I LOVE that old car. Cool stuff :-) Everybody loves to see the old girl get some nice new parts :-)
Hi Cody, great to see a new gas tank , brake lines and chrome valve cover . Seems lots of folks want to name the '57 . I'll let you do that . Since I've been watching and enjoying your videos I often think of the song Sharecropper Dream , (Long Hard Road ). It is one of my 5 favorite songs of all time . The most meaningful line being , 'Cause those city lights don't shine so bright compared to what it's like to see lightning bugs go dancing in the rain . This really hit home when 100 thousand dollar cars were mentioned in an earlier episode and your '57 wasn't going to be that . I very much like being a little fish in a little pond and what your doing seems like a home to us folks .
Hey I really appreciate that, thanks for the kind words! I try to show people that anyone can buy a classic car and get it running and driving to be enjoyable without being a millionaire haha I will give that a list thanks!
Carolina, valve cover looks great, shiny chrome really dresses it up nice. Good job on the brake lines. Fuel sender, you never know until you open the box what you are gonna get. New tank is a beauty. That machine is coming along big time. Big Al.

My friend you can find you a silver or possibly a chrome valve oil cap for the valve cover at your local car parts store. I don't know if you have advanced out there or AutoZone but you could probably get away with just stripping yours down and painted it silver. Great job today on the break lines, and I see Santa Claus came a few weeks late and bought you some goodies for (little darling) the 57 Chevy 😊🙂 take care 💥👍🏽
