Welcome to the world of the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. I have found throughout my career there is a lot of information about our industry which is way too complicated and time-draining to be useful for our day-to-day routine. Therefore I decided to make this Channel and website for the go-to place for guidance, training and useful content. I remember starting out in my career and to this day scrolling through various websites and books trying to accumulate valuable information to expand my knowledge of becoming a competent experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineer. So after years of collecting and learning the industry I wanted to share my experience and expertise with people starting out on the journey and also experienced Engineers alike.
One of the best things about our career is we never stop learning I like to say the following quote which is very true.
At around 40 years old I am only halfway through my apprenticeship. (me 1st January 2021)

Can you share tips on how you smashed out the ceramic portion of the right hand pickup? If you remember? I’ve been attacking it with a Dremel, drill, and other barbaric methods but am not getting very far. Was this how you did it?
After a lot of smashing I finally got it. But can you explain why we only need one pickup? I’m following your exact upgrades/steps but do not fully understand the “why” behind this.

Fantastic work. Where do we get that dipstick with the temperature meter?
Hai dimenticato rondella ingranaggio avviamento
IN the airliner it is more comfy to do. DFDR is overhead of the cabin accessed in aft galley area and facing towards you for hookup.
Nice work !!! Can you share a link to order a crankshaft cap ? I see it’s the same one you out on the front As Well ? Thank you
… thanks, understand the reasons given for the pause :) I’m based in Stavanger and just starting work on my second CX500. Enjoyed your videos and liked your stuctured, thoughtful approach to the rebuild :)
dumb question but how the hell you remove that screw that is in an awkward angle on the pitot ? Most of the people around I asked and even me still managed to screw up the screw. what is the proper tool ? ring rachet with a bit holder ? the flexible bit ?
I remember we used a wooden hammer handle to wedge a bit holder in there then use it as a pry bar. Maybe Boeing have a unique tool ($$$) for this I am not sure 😂
@@aircraftengineerstoolbox2560 hahah alright duly noted might try that idea the next time around. Thanks man !
Please make more videos on MAX
Esta en venta en el mercado libre, buen día
i was understanding slowly but surely why they added this. the pilot on american 587 was abusing the rudder inputs, leading to the tail fin detaching. of course it was sometime after 9/11, so everyone thought it was another attack.
Great information, thanks.
... just watched all of your videos, I enjoyed them and learned a bit too, so thank you :) How is the project going?
Hi Still here, The project is on hold but not forgotten, house, country and job relocation have made me busy the last year I am hoping to get back into it in the new year.
How about apu shutdown sound?
... we all do it, extreme expletives help :)
... like your structured approach to marking fasteners etc., bagging and ziplock to major part removed. do you buy the stuff bags online?
Actually there free issue from my workplace 🤫
… enjoying the journey, its real. lots of time spent finding the right spanner and relief when the bolt unscrews instead of shearing. one question, which workshop manual would you recommend?
I used the factory service manual, its clear and simple to follow.
Hello Ian, Hope you are well. Any progress on the frame?
...beautiful, good job :)
Thanks hoping to finish the rest soon, life gets in the way sometimes.
Ian, I miss your dulcet tones…
Tresbonreportagehenri
you remember the tail number on this?
Lots if pipes but ni fuel or tanks. ...I'm asking for a video showing the tanks...
I don’t think you would believe it if you saw it. I think you’ve decided that nothing will ever be good enough proof. Those plates in the opening shot are literally the tank plates
The fuel tanks are inside the wings
Thanks for this
your videos are very helpful, thanks. I am making the same motorcycle now, so it is very interesting
Thankyou, one day I will get back to finishing the frame.
Sorry, but your camera man sucks.
Thanks a lot for the video, I would to ask why the Static port are not heated ? thank you!
Hi from what I was taught, there is no need for heating due to the location along the side of the fuselage making it not in the path of ice build-up, also the skin temperature is enough to prevent any ice build-up both in the air and on the ground and on the ground if ice snow was present the aircraft fuselage should have been decided before the flight. I can only comment on Airbus and Boeing.
@@aircraftengineerstoolbox2560 Thanks for your answer, it make sense ! a fantastic video by the way
Why is it only 1 Drive light when standby power turned off here?
Hi, Would you like to make some more A306 videos? Here are some ideas: REACTIVE WINDSHEAR ground test OVERSPEED warning ground test STALL warning ground test FMS presentation of all pages and functions. TCAS ground test EGPWS ground test. All these topics dont exist as videos for A306. So it would be a nice opportunity to create more content for your youtube channel. Thank you very much.

What is the buzzing sound at the beginning when you turn on the battery ?
Hello, Are you planning new videos? Can you make a cockpit test of the Standby Hydraulic pump in a 737NG, please? Also a video of ground test of the STOP RUDDER INPUT in the A306. By ground test, I mean how you trigger the system on the ground. That would be very interesting. Thank you very much.
Hi, Still planning on making videos, just going through a job change currently, but I will note your request. Some A330 content coming in the future.
@@aircraftengineerstoolbox2560 If you want to make content about A330 can you also talk about the PITCH PITCH warning, please?

Very nice video! I am having a frustrating time with the transmission going so the way seated into the block.. I'm hoping today, with your video, I can get going with this engine build again. Thanks!
this while cranking only yes ?
Yeah, Only Cranking, its also not permitted to run engines with the core cowls open.

Thank you for uploading!
Hi Ian; it took me about couple of hours to think what to say without hurt your feelings, that said here we go: as I can see you are doing exactly as many CX "builders" do, letting the original frame as it is, cutting out only the rear tips to weld a pipe loop and probably install a led strip as running-brake-signals light, which lead to have a flat long seat (like brat) without rear hump and taking away the cafe racer look, after all this time following your incredible build this is the first time that I feel a bit disappointed 😔, I know, your bike, your build, your test and as long as you like it that's only matter
Hi Carlos, Don't worry I don't get offended easily. I see your point and everyone is entitled to an opinion and welcome yours. I am going down the cafe racer cowl style (I think) although it would be nice to be able to carry a passenger from time to time. As a saying I heard once, what's the point of having a bike if you cant throw a girl on the back. Which has some merit. But the main reason for keeping the original rear shock setup is the legal requirement in my country (Denmark) I have to follow the strict guidelines to have it approved legally. The single-shock way is not allowed. My problem is to try and make it look unique by using the factory setup which is troubling me.
@@ianmillward5277 I've got it Ian, and thank you for understand my point of view, keep up the great work!!
70's disco in the background? Why oh why?
Scientific research has proven that all water is wet. Pieces of water are known as drops. They drop down to the ground as the gravity reaches up & pulls it down.
Hi Ian, I probably miss that part, did you remove also the short shaft with conical gear out of the transmission case body?, did you also change the conical bearing inside of it?
Hi, No I couldn't find new bearings anywhere for the pinion, so bought a used case with the pinion gear and x2 bearings already installed, it was a lot better than the original which had 45000km on it. The old bearing was binding and worn. I might revisit this in the future, but I needed to get this part done and move on with wheels and frame.
@@aircraftengineerstoolbox2560 it happened to me, couldn't find that bearing either (after I removed it from the case) had to apply heat, so keep in mind when revisiting that probably needs to be repainted 😅
