  • 🔧 Rudder Input Warnings. In order to avoid excessive loads on the vertical fin, rudder reversal
detection has been developed in the FCC. It provides a warning in
the cockpit via two red lights RUDDER INPUTS STOP located on the
glare shield and an aural warning STOP RUDDER INPUT delivered by the FWC. ▶️

Thank you for the detailed explanation.
Especially how to set up for a ground test!
I red that FedEx didnt want to install this feature at the beginning because of the high costs and because they already had a large fleet of A306 and A310 freighters.
What I heard was that when you fly within the Greendot speed, you could deflect the rudders and other control surfaces for ailerons and elevator without causing any damage. Even if you change the deflections back and forth many times. You could also use rudder, aileron and elevator at the same time back and forth.
The STOP RUDDER INPUT WARNING is triggered when you exceed a certain speed and using the rudder.
Please, can you try to record directly with your phone microphone?
I know that it should be possible to do that so that you can hear the warning in cristal clear quality.
I really would love to hear it in top quality.
May be it is possible to record it direct from the communication panel?
    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

i was understanding slowly but surely why they added this. the pilot on american 587 was abusing the rudder inputs, leading to the tail fin detaching. of course it was sometime after 9/11, so everyone thought it was another attack.

    Hi
Do you know at which speed this warning is triggered or when the warning is exactly triggered?
I couldnt find a document that describes it.
    Thank you

Using the ground test set, increase simulated Vc to 330kts and within 40 secs Apply full pedal deflection on one side and then the other in less than 2 seconds. Then warning will be triggered. Hope this helps

      Thank you for your reply!
How do you simulate the Groundtest?
Do you just set the 330 knots cruise speed on the FCU speed window?
Is there a minimum speed that triggers the warning?
      What happens if you would
      1) exceed 40 seconds and you havent deflected the rudder to both sides?
      2) What would happen if you move the rudderpedals for example 4 times instead of 2 times from one side to the other?
