i knew someone whos parents were psychiatrists and were hoarders. obviously they keep this to themselves...and he was quite ashamed of this.

Hoarders moved in downstairs and completely ruined the gardens and common areas where I rent. My friends and neighbours are horrified by what they did here. My mum was a psychiatrist and apparently hoarding is now classified as a mental health disorder in the DSM…I‘ve tried every route to get them evicted but my landlord is stuck, ‘cause eviction is tough here, legally.

Are there any millennial hoarders? Or do they just become serial killers

She needs to define her personal style because some of that stuff is way too young for her.

I think a huge loss can trigger extreme hoarding activity. It can be a loss of a parent, the first love, a partner, grandparents etc.

I don't agree with the if you haven't used it in 12 months it goes,that would mean holiday decor also,maybe I don't use it every year.

I had a good friend who was a hoarder. It was sad as she was a very intelligent woman who had many lovely things which never brought her any real joy; when she became very ill, she said I should come to her place and take what I wanted. I just couldn't do it, though she had given me many gifts through the years that still make me sad when I think of her. All the things she bought and collected through man years ended up left behind when she died.

I am a perfectionist, so everything has to have a well organized place, I can't stand disarray, or clutter, I am not a minimalist, I love nice things, but no hoarding garbage and nonsense. I knew a lady that saved everything, plastic laundry cups, plastic anything, for that matter. She would save McDonald's cardboard containers, papers, just anything, she was also a child of the 30s and 40s, I think a lot of hoarders came from this generation.

I hope some plan was set to transition Christopher into a different setting

Susan, Brian and Jake all seem so sweet. The cleaning ladies are angels! Susan's attitude towards "losing" her stuff was so different from most hoarders on these hoarding shows. I'm glad she got her house back before she died, sorry she is gone.

Almost every hoarder I know has a home it’s annoying, They literally don’t deserve it. Just live like a homeless why be homeless indoors?

My sister a hoarder , I am homeless so I have no choice but to live in her crap. It’s no dirty just so much stuff everywhere I feel stressed out. I want my own home and make it look clean. No matter how much I clean her house she brings more stuff so I gave up

I understand OCD, maybe have it myself. And I understand being overwhelmed and mentally paralyzed too. But that someone doesn't see the problem, literally and mentally, and n o t begging for help. Yes, it takes courage to ask für help, but there isn't an alternative

She has a good heart helping these homeless unwanted animals but she really needs a bit of help for her own life too. I hope someone will help her with adoptions and all else, she is really a lovely person.

I agree this hoard needs to be reduced, but please do not throw anything useful in the garbage, there is always someone that will gladly take the stuff, that is the main thing that has bothered me on some previous vids on hoarding I have watched.

It is a trauma-based injury in the mind. They fear loss and the stuff protects them like a duvet from feeling the pain of loss. It does not help to fight the symptoms (= get rid of the stuff) but the main problem (= being able to feel the pain and to let go of all trauma) needs to be adressed psychologically first to prevent them to start to hoard again to get rid of unpleasant feelings.

Although I don't hoard I can relate 1000% with Fae!! Depression is REAL and it can/does sometimes control you.

Cats like neat places. They hate chaos so she is not doing the cats any favors.

I wish Kat and Tee were my best friends. They are so kind, so lovely and so genuinely good.

She did do great, not trying to say anything against that, but at least for me, there is still way too much stuff in the house. Of course, it's not my house, so she can keep whatever she wants to keep.
