I Don't know HOW many TIMES i had to tell people to STOP using other DAWs for 3 weeks and just SIT in Cubase to SEE what they are MISSING, but . . . they continue to vehemently disagree with me saying "PreSonus can give me a better workflow of bla-bla-bla" 🙄🙄 Right now this video is sitting at a measly 628 views after 2 years. That ALONE bears testimony to how LITTLE attention producers (especially the young ones) pay to Cubase. Its POWER remains HIDDEN. People are STILL in the dark ages drawing Midi notes in their DAWs. Andrew did NOTTT even add the FlexPhraser (since he did Not choose to use the mighty HALion synth engine) or Arpache SX to decorate the melody lines, yet it all sounds GREAT 🥰🥰. Andrew did NOT even scratch the surface of possibilities and the SPEEED at which Cubase handles these insanely difficult to perform activies through its SMART music-generative features. Cubase handles these activities IN A VERY MUSICAL WAY 🥰🥰😍😍 The BIG turn off for me in other DAWs is their complete inability to integrate or extend their event-processing features to *ALSO process the live Midi input in a manner that's EQUIVALENT to event-processing* as part of the music creation. They completely MISS this part by cramming every feature of the DAW into exclusively processing "only static events" as if these events would have initially "recorded" or "created" themselves out of thin air 🙄🙄. I mean . . . things like the new Step Input improvements in Cubase 13 . . . is "innnnsanely" creative and smart 😍🤩👌👌👌 Other DAWs are yearrrs away from even conceiving WHYYY something like that (processing Live Midi input in that way) would be necessary or understanding WHYYY something like that actually matters 😂😂 People will speedily and ignorantly skip over a video titled "Step Input features in Cubase . . ." only for them to go and ironically draw Midi notes ONE Step/note at a time in their DAW (but they absurdly do it GEOMETRICALLY on their screen 🙄🙄 with NO ABILITY to directly induce their own emotionally-derived rhythmic feel into those notes) 😂😂. Cubase implements its music creation concepts in a Musical Way, Not in a completely mechanical, robotic, geometric, "random-generator" or "event-centric" manner 😘🤩🤩

Scaler 2 can also import an audio file and detect the chords from it, and then you can apply all the greatness of Scaler ...

I used to use SampLab for Audio to MIDI, v1 was free (and still available), but they have now moved to a subscription model for v2 😞

It's a pity VariAudio is not polyphonic. Apparently Melodyne has a patent on it.

I didn't get how you created the bass line with the live input set to Chords and only the bass notes were recorded....

I've had Cubase since version 10, and had 12 since it came out but only this week found out about MIDI remote. Finally was able to set up my Maschine Studio to work as my control panel (which was what I bought it for), glorious. Also it's very helpful if you have a Native Instruments controller to use this in combination with the NI Controller Editor.

What bugs me about the drum editor (at least from what I'm seeing) is there is no indicator of what note you're playing when you hit a note on your keyboard. Why isn't there some little red indicator then you play a note on your keyboard that lights up beside the note in the drum editor? This happens in the piano roll, why not drum editor? This means you have to play the notes in drum editor using your mouse to figure out what sound is where, that's crazy. Unless there's some preference selection I'm missing?

I've been looking for the tap tempo. Thanks for clarifying this!!! Also, I have an off topic question. While creating a midi pattern in a 4 bar loop and recording the first note on the 3rd beat of the last bar the note will cut off when the loop starts over. The are many times I need to start recording just before the loop actually starts but can't because of the note cut off. I've several hardware sequencers over the years that doesn't cut off the notes when looping back to the beginning of the loop. Is there a workaround for this in Cubase Pro 13?

I think this is a tremendously wonderful video and I just finished watching and making almost a word by word notes of your video on your Songwriting 101 in Cubase 13 video. By the way I loved that video too. My main question I have about this video is can you explode your chord progression from 4 notes to many more notes, like 8 notes at a time, and will Cubase make 8 more separate tracks from your 8 note chords in your project? Once again i want to wish you continued success with all of your future musical videos and I also wish you continued success financially as well. You are an amazing person to share all of your Cubase knowledge with us. I really appreciate you tremendously. Thank you again and again for sharing with us beginners in the Cubase family. Thanks for the great video! Really helpful. So I have created my MIDI control surface and everything works perfectly. Thank you!!! But how do I save it? I have exported the script but when trying to import that script I either get an error or the script loads but nothing changes visually or in the remote itself. The DAW (Cubase Pro 13.0.41) does not remember it.either. I can open the saved Cubase project the next day and I have to start over and create a new surface every time. I have checked the Cubased manual and online but the only thing I can find is about exporting the script. However, importing the script does not work for me. Thanks for any help!

Can you please do a video in detail on how to set up vst instruments, like amps? I used a template with vocal and distortion guitar, but pulling up the amps give NO NOISE, NO CHANGE,what do I do?

Another way of recording multiple takes in Cubase 13 is to use the Track Versions feature. With Cycle on it can even be set up to record a new take on every cycle.
