Excellent video! I managed to do this back in 2017-ish with whatever version was around then as I as was working with with a vocalist and it worked great. It took me days and days to reseach and experiment with to get it all to work. The vocalist retired soon after and I started working on my own. Then a new version of Cubase came out and it corrupted all my Cubase settings. I got most back but seemed to have forgot about Cue Sends for live recording. I just forgot all about it, however, I do have one Cue send for my AB referencing but completely forgot about it with my live recording as I was mostly producing for a few years. So, after seeing this video, I have now re-instated it and put it into my template... FOREVER!!! 😀😎 Thanks Andrew! 👍
Great videos. Can you do a video about sharing a project between different computers? My sampler tracks always get screwed up when I open a project on another computer.
Just Now subbed! Im totally new to the World of Daws, first time. I got cubase Pro 13.....its overwhelming abd yes, intimidating! But I want to learn. I play electric guitar and plug my guitar to my Fender Mustang GTX 100 amp... run an XLR cable from my amp to my audio interface- input 1, plug my mic to input 2 When I try to record singing and playing my guitar... my vocals are LOUD and can barely hear my guitar... even tho volumes are up.... what do I do??, Thank you !!
hi cassandra,, welcome,, so the first thing to do is realize there may be a few things to learn on your new journey and it may take a minute or two to learn them,,, no big deal,, we have all been there. In your situation getting familiar with basic recording and setting levels is the starting point. I wish I could give you a two sentence answer, one thing to try in the beginning is record your voice and guitar separately and see what you learn from that. You'll get it, I'm sure,,, andrew
great video! not sure if anyone can help with this but as far as recording INTO Cubase...I've had zero luck. I can import audio from other DAWs and everything works just fine but, plugging in and getting any audio signal to and from Cubase isn't happening. I'm running an M1 Mac Studio, Cubase Pro 12, Focusrite Clarett 8pre and OctoPre for additional outs (ADAT). Everything is setup as you've mentioned in your video but still there's nothing. Could it be an internal problem where the daw isn't recognizing the hardware? or is it an ASIO thing?
hi niqul,,, the fact that you can hear your audio confirms you have the outputs set up correctly,, the fact that you cant record any audio points to you probably dont have your inputs set up yet in a way that Cubase can recognize. Start by going to the menu Studio-Audio Connections,, look at the Input tab and see if the inputs you use to record are listed there... andrew
Can you please do a video in detail on how to set up vst instruments, like amps? I used a template with vocal and distortion guitar, but pulling up the amps give NO NOISE, NO CHANGE,what do I do?
@@TheDigitalAudioManual I am wanting to learn how to use a midi keyboard vst, and also guitar with amp sims, I just figured out how to get my amp sims to work..they can only be activated from using them.out of the insert.
hi in2,,, thanks for the comment,, If you want to do a super thanks just join the Digital Audio Manual for a month,, the link is in the description of the video,, but be warned,, you may wind up staying longer than a month,,, all the best,,, andrew
I m trying to record my drums playing along with a song...When im not recording and i load up the audio track,i can hear it fine and play along but when i hit the record button i stop hearing the song,im only hearing the drums....Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
hi Othonas,,, my first thought is your situation probably has to do with the monitor button on each track and the proper use, and also the record setup modes in the preferences. All of that is a lot of stuff to answer in a short comment. I'm sure you know, but when the monitor button comes on, it can stop whats playing on your track and vice versa,,, I would focus on seeing the results from turning your monitor button on and off and see if that sheds some light on your situation.. andrew
The Control Room is so powerful!

You need to create a good workflow for this DAW but i guess if you do its getting fast and on point.

hi cassandra,,, answer a question for me 1) exactly what vst instrument are you trying to use?
