Hi, this is Joe and welcome to my channel. This little project started back in 2013 when I started doing Amazon reviews. I work with a Top 100 reviewer and he showed me the way. After I started doing Amazon reviews, several manufacturers encouraged me to start a RUclips channel. I consider myself a pretty normal guy and want to provide reviews that people will find helpful. I am not too concerned with unboxings or specs but rather listening to somebody who has used the product and has had time to evaluate all of its elements. I will show you what you get, how to use the product, some key features and then areas I see for product improvement.

Meepo V5 ER Review - Can a budget electric skateboard handle a large, heavy rider?
This video sets out to answer the question if a large, heavy rider can learn to eskate on a Meepo V5 ER budget board. The V5 ER has the larger battery, which is a must for heavier riders, but the rest of the specs on the board impressed me.
I was not only able to learn how to eskate but I got this board up to 25+ mph on straightaways and even up some hills when I entered them with speed. The board handled my weight with a nice flex and never bottomed out. The batteries also exceeded my expectations but I was riding fast and hard and got about 35 minutes on them before they went down to one light.

A really honest review. Thanks. I'm 63 and just getting into electric boards. I haven't ridden for many, many years and wasn't good then, lol. I love the effortless freedom I feel when cruising about and that is all I want from it. Keep riding and stay safe. :)

Question; what is your weight? And how far did the battery last with your weight? Other videos most of the riders on the v5 were between 140 to 160lbs.
I am over 275 and it lasted about 30 - 35 minutes with me riding full power most of the time. I didn't get the distance though, I hadn't gotten that far into the testing before I hurt myself.
@@gandalfthewhite2373 This thing goes up to 28 mph! That is pretty fast for me when the risk is slamming into pavement. I mean, on the flip side, it is what you want. It has the power and the torque for big guys and I was impressed by that. It isn't going to go anywhere near the rated range though. I used it for fun just cruising thru the neighborhood. But gumballs on the streets, sticks, squirrels, pot holes, you have to keep an eye out for every imperfection in the road. There is no shock absorber and the result is launching you from the board. Again, super fun when it works but scary dangerous. My wrist still isn't healed and I injured it May 5 and it is 4/21, so going on 6 weeks plus now. It doesn't hurt like it used to but I am not back to full strength and flexibility either. I also fell turning in a parking lot and not at full speed. It is completely different than falling off a normal skateboard with the speed element. I never wore any protective gear with my old school skateboard but would now suit up in armor if I were to ever get on one of these boards again. I don't even think wrist guards would have helped because my hands hit the pavement so the impact and the extension would have been the same. I have an electric scooter with shocks and feel 100% safer riding around on that then I ever did on the e-skate.
@Joseph Daly I have an e-bike that I attach to the back of my SUV. This size is to big of a footprint for me. Always having to put on the bike rack and take off the bike rack. I needed something with a smaller footprint. I was debating between one wheel, uni-wheel or e-board. Since I have many years experience on a skateboard, it was my natural first choice. Now I can use the e-board, so when I get close to the city (core) center, I can park in a near by neighborhood for free and e-board in. So the footprint with this e-board is great. I do agree regarding safety, speed kills.

I have had my original one for 4 years. If taken care of and not banged up, they will last. WEAK LINK: the points of connection on the circuit panel WILL come loose. I have to solder the connections if I want mine to work again OR just buy a new one like the average American would.. Also the components are cheap, like one comment was saying the little plastic pieces will fall off over time. Bright as hell and has lasted a long time... overall a good purchase if you need to light up the darkness.
Sorry you got hurt. If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I'm sure you could still board. I was an amazing roller skater as a teenager but if I skated now I would consider myself a novice and would re-learn what I have unlearned. I'd probably pick it up quicker than if I didn't have my teenage experience but I'd still need to practice. Don't give up esk8 if you enjoyed it. Just pad up and practise. But of course you do you 🤟🤟

I just got one in ebay. I upgraded electronics, added a scale driver, removed simulated light bucket and added buckets to put 5mm leds. They go on forward only, and get brighter as you as you hit throttle. I'm a hobbyist and I upgrade toy RC to go faster and steer better, sometimes I add leds. Happy Holidays.

NOTE TO ALL To take out the ESC you have to take out the motor first. Battery that came with mine was junk it Puffed Up on one side during 2nd charge so bought a new battery. Buy some Marine grease for moving parts. It is a fun little boat for the money. walmart.com
