  • The Foxnovo 4S Digital Charger did a great job at rapidly charging many different types of batteries. It works with Li-ion, Ni-MH and Ni-CD battery types. See the side panel of the box in the video to see if your battery type is listed. The charger is pretty advanced and provides some useful items to help evaluate your batteries performance. You get to see the voltage the battery is at when you put it in and when it is done charging. You also get to see the amount of mAh that gets charged back into your battery. Using these numbers, you can tell if your battery is still performing well or if it is in need of replacement. The blue backlit screen is a nice touch because it makes it easy to see as well as the beeping once a battery is fully charged. The unit also has a feature where you can select to charge at 0.5A or 1.0A.
As great as this battery charger is, I think it can be a little bit better, especially in future revisions to the product. I have lots of Lipo batteries that charge through a USB cable. It would be nice to see some USB ports on this device for charging these types of batteries. By far the most important feature I would be looking for is to see how many mAh are going into my Lipos so I can make sure that they are in good working order and don't need to get recycled.
Another easy feature to incorporate would be to turn the beeping on or off. I found this to be annoying when charging batteries overnight as the beeping is pretty loud. I also think the beeping could go "1 beep" for the first charge port, "2 beeps" for the second charge port and so on so when it does beep you know which battery is finished charging. I would also like to see the charger be able to sense the battery type better and to optimize the charging current for that type of battery. I don't know if this is possible or not but I know the USB battery chargers have this capability.
So, those are some ideas I had for improving this charger but it does a great job at what it is intended to do. Charges were quick, informative and covered a wide range of battery types and sizes. Last but not least, there is a feature that let's you discharge a battery so you can see how much juice it can hold. I did not test this feature out but it would be useful if your battery did not list the mAh rating somewhere on the labeling. Again, these features are very helpful to let you understand how your battery is performing. I think one more idea for improvement would be a quick life check. It would be nice if there would be a way you could pop the battery in and the charger could tell you if it was at 50% or 25% for example.

I decided to buy 2, but I really would like to try Cap test. There is another video online that says to can revive dead batteries by pulling back and forth and when they get above 2.5V they will take off on their own.

Thanks for sharing pirucreek, I appreciate it and will try that if I ever need to revive some batteries.

Hi I bought this and i have a couple of 18650-22F 3.6 Batteries and set it to CAP, to restore them. But it's charging or atleast saying more voltage than it's supposed to have ATM it's saying 3.80v on the display screen what does that mean? They're starting to get a little hot. Is it bad that a little of the nickle that used to connect them is still left on them?

Hey Joe - No offense but you might want to use that capacity test feature you think isn't that useful on your "4000 mAH" 18650 cells. You might be surprised of their actual capacity!

Thanks epicdeuce. Love the handle, reminds me of the Impractical Jokers on TruTV when they ask people in the mall to hold a bag for them because they have to real quick go and take a "mondo duke".

Did you ever try? I bet those '4000mah' cells hardly get 2000. Probably some FIRE knock off brand 18650 cells in there. Peal back one of their sleeves and check the serial number.
