Ducati Motorcycle Tool Kits #motorcyclelife #desertsled #ducatistreetfighter #ducatiscrambler
As underseat storage becomes a distant memory, so too does the supplied manufacturer's tool roll!
Gone are the days when your bike came with a half decent set of spanners and a philips screw driver... These days you are lucky to get much more than a hex key that lets you take the seat off.
I think that the last bike I bought with a worthwhile set of tools was my KTM 790 Duke. Maybe there was a good reason for that?
And maybe that's the psychological mind game that some manufacturers are playing with us. ''Our products are soooooo good, you will never need tools of your own!''
Probably not though.
More likely they are penny pinching and trying not to encourage you to get the spanners out. ''Ju...

My Thoughts on The 2025 StreetfighterV2 #ducatistreetfighter #steetfighterv2 #ducativ2
Просмотров 61528 дней назад
Not that my opinion matters anyway. But here's my tuppence worth on the new 2025 Ducati Streetfighter V2. This isn't a regurgitation of stats and technical specs. It's about why I think Ducati went in the direction that they did, and whether as an owner of the current generation of Streetfighter, I think that was a good or bad thing. Would I or will I buy one? I'm still on the fence about that....

Ha ha, brilliant. Sled kit is really good. Not seen a spanner like that since I was about 12 and fixed my first pushbike. But you have proven my theory, the more exotic the bike, the less you get. Bring back MZ I say! 👍👍
If all else fails I can always fall back on my Million Dollar Bogan tool kit 💳
Looks like they listened to you anyway! 😅. Shame They didn’t listen about pricing though! Speaking of performance, the 765RS is up 8bhp as standard (not much I know) but the Ducati is also 10kg lighter! So probably roughly the same performance wise but once you fit your performance exhaust to the V2 and bring the 765RS up to 130bhp doing the same, really probably not much between them Overall. Hardest part as you say and biggest pill to swallow is the price difference compared to the rest of the group and no matter how you cut it, you’re knocking on for +5K difference. Is it a 5K better bike!? Plus higher service costs, you indeed REALLY want to have one but a test ride will reveal all! Be interested to see what you think of it if you do take one out!
Yeah Chris. That's a lot of cash. Buying my Streetfighter was a once in a lifetime special treat for me. I don't know if I could justify doing that again. With the original V2 I could at least kid myself on that I was buying an extra 20bhp over everything else in the class, even if it didn't handle quite so well. This new version will need to be king of the middleweight nakeds to make up for it. I do prefer smaller lighter bikes though. So it has that going for it at least.
Great reminder on that fuel gauge! The previous model looked way better as it now looks like the monster. That price just shows how arrogant Ducati is, as they weren't selling alot of these already and haven't learned from their past mistakes of pricing themselves out of the market. As competition goes, the Triumph RS is way more affordable and if they increase the cc rating which is rumored it'll leave this bike for dead.
@@reddpill Thankfully the fuel gauge has been addressed. Noticed it on the top of the new display after making the video. Yeah, the drop in horsepower is dropping this bike right into the thick of it with the competition. No doubt about it. The middleweight group tests from all of the bike mags and reviewers is going to be interesting for sure.
Looks good to me. Not enough for me to buy one though 😂
@@semajohn 🤑
Not sure about the looks, like you say maybe nicer in flesh, as for £££ think it will be a few more years until I could afford one!
Yeah. You have Uni fees and weddings to save for first mate 😉 I doubt I'll be springing for one either. If anything, they've just made it easier for me to justify plumping for any other bike with between 100-130bhp.
So it’s your fault. And now they are adding mirrors that work too. Brilliant! 😉👍👍
@@CodgerBiker Haha! Yes, it's ALL my doing. Would be great if the mirrors worked. But I very much doubt that they will. A real shame though, as Ducati put so much effort into making them look good 🤷🏻♂️
@CampbellZeroOne I guess I'm a function over form guy in a form over function world. But even I can see Ducati are putting things very right in their new bikes. If they now have working mirrors it's the best of both worlds. 🤞👍👍
@CodgerBiker It's the Audi way! 😉😂
@@CampbellZeroOne Four Sprung Pork Technik! 🐷
@CodgerBiker 😂👏🏻
I think it looks great but too expensive and not enough power for that kind of money.. a ktm 890R would edge this in every area except looks.. but you'd save about £7k
@@youtubed9695 Yup. It's hard to justify the difference in price for what on paper should be pretty similar performance. Although, I'm looking forward to being proven wrong 😉
Here in the US this is only $2,000 more for the base v2 than an 890 and for me it's well worth it just on looks alone lol.
@@squidlips1044 I guess it's all about what floats your boat and how much you are willing to spend. Some will be ruthless and base it purely on bhp per dollar/pound/euro. Others on lap times on a track day or how good it makes them feel when they open the garage door.
Wow was considering a svartpilen 401 and just found a good desert sled deal here in the US. This was oddly specific to my needs, thank you!

@@CodgerBiker Thought that would tickle you 😂
@@CampbellZeroOne I may have to get a divorce! So it won't be unlimited then, it'll be everything. 😂
Beautifully shot btw 👍
I have a solution! Fit the exhaust system yourself and save a heap of money in garage labour costs! It will only then need their ecu update next time its in for a service which they will do anyway (assuming there is a map that Ducati do).. I’m going back to when they had open pipe maps for their Termi exhausts like they used to for the 748/916/996/998 era.. yes, that’s the last time I owned a Doo-Carti. Also have to ask, if there was an endless supply of money, would you own the bikes that you currently do!?..👍🏼
@@twistandgo3414 Both exhausts come with an Upmap, so that's not a problem mate. Easy to do. But I'm told that Ducati won't honour the bike warranty, even with the full 'official' Akrapovic. I'm told I'd need to sign a waiver as it's not for road use! Good idea about the "any bike" vid though.
Thanks for sharing these indepth instructions...
You're living the life my man. How many bikes do you have?
When this video was made I still had four Nico. Just a small overlap (at least that's what I told my wife) as two were ready to be sold on so that I could have the Sled 😉😂
Those bovines in remote areas are damn near wild animals. I'm surprised this rider didn't end up as one of the many people who are killed by cattle each year.
@@shamoy1000 Not so bad here in Scotland. These ones see people daily and seem to live along the roadside. Makes it easier for them to move around the valley. Still, I wasn't going to risk startling them by reaching out to pet them on the way past.

We got home today Rob, had a fantastic time, and honestly, over the 12 days of riding, we only had to ride in rain for about 1hr total 😲 So fortunate with the weather , we brought some sunshine back with us to Derbyshire, and I’ve left you some for the coming week 😁👍🏼 It’s been an amazing tour yet again , thank you and your kin for the incredible hospitality. 👌
@@wilswood8137 Well in that case I'd ask for a refund. You never got the full Scottish experience. I went north today and got a whole TWO hours of wind and rain on the return leg alone! 😂💦 Glad to hear that you both had an enjoyable holiday mate 👍🏻
I see 44Teeth emulated your pillion ride. Did you have to have that medical? It's been a fallow biking year to be sure. 👍
@@CodgerBiker No medical. Just signed the usual stuff. But you were medically insured in the cost. Got hardly any views that. But Mrs CZO and I will be watching it into our dotage.

Editing, conditions, wind noise, god knows what else…the time it takes to put it together, but it’s another sanity outlet! Audio sounds good mate 😎👍🏻. Been a paltry year for biking, or at least it seems to have been! along with quite a limited summer or so it seems as i’ve also been away with work when it’s been decent. I keep Almeria ( Being my favourite track) in my weather app and it’s still 26 deg there! dunno why, it’s a bit depressing at times 😂 maybe time to relocate! but very hot in the height of summer.
@@twistandgo3414 Yeah. There's a fine line when it comes to temperatures and riding bikes. Somewhere in the low to mid 20's is spot on to me. If our weather was a little more predictable, I'd say Scotland would be right up there as one of the best places to stay and motorcycle. I've taped over the inside of the chin vents. Seems to have helped a fair bit 🤞🏻
I got an issue with the loose ball joint, it doesnt hold the mirror anymore, could be the heavy vibration on the handlebar cause the issue. is there a way i can tight the loose ball joint. I cant find any screw to tighten it up
There's not a grub screw on it. I have that a mention on the follow up video Mobo. You could try putting a drip of super glue/loctite on the seam where the ball joint and mirror meet to see if that works. Otherwise, I'd drop Oxford an email and ask if they can help you out. Seems to be a design flaw that should have been foreseen.
Which scorptions are you comparing with the rally or the ralley str?

@@Cnuggets Other than a K&N air filter, no. I think that the narrow streets in the video help with the sound a little. Do you prefer the 790 or the DS?
@@Neil-f3v Pretty difficult to compare them directly Neil. The Sled was bought to do the job of both the 790 and Svartpilen 401 so isn't really in the same category. Handling, sound and power wise the 790 easily wins out. But for a long day in the saddle on any kind of road surface in any weather condition, I'd give that to the Sled. The Duke always surprises me. When I haven't ridden it for a while it's easy to forget just how good a bike it is.
Thanks for the reply. I now have an Indian FTR which is bonkers and my 790 is going to be exchanged for a DS as I felt the duke would always be a second choice to the Indian so wanted something different. I have enjoyed the duke. 😊
@@Neil-f3v Ooh! Very nice. I had my eye on one of those when they came out with the carbon version. Had a look at one in Saltire Motorcycles Edinburgh. It does come across as a bit bonkers 😂 Sounds great too. Well in that case, a Sled won't be a bad choice to have next to it in your garage. Especially if you fancy going further afield. I do need to improve the throttle response on my one though. It needs a cam to shorten it/speed it up a little. I think it'll liven the bike up a bit.
Blimey not even the street fighter is safe in your garage Rob 🤣 looks nice, I was sitting on the sp one in Manchester Ducati when the mrs was buying her new bike , very nice, I have my eye on the hyper sp if I’m honest Order us some nice sunshine please mate, we are on our way up a week after next 12 nights enjoying your amazing roads, and hospitality 👌
@wilswood8137 Had to go to Portugal for some sunshine ourselves. It's been a terrible summer. Forecast looks good for next wee. Fingers crossed it lingers 🤞🏼 The Monster is a cracking road bike, but the Streetfighter is safe for another year yet. Tried both the Hypermotard SP and Hypermono. Enjoyed both, but preferred the bigger 950 SP. Best Ducati Ive ridden to date. Just too bloody tall for me to feel comfortable with if I had to stop somewhere unexpectedly.
Saw your posts from Portugal , looked great ( jealous about the pillion ride ) Being 6,3 the hyper fits me perfectly its definitely on my radar 👍 and fingers crossed the sun gods shine ( keep your rain magnet indoors please 🤣)

@CodgerBiker Yeah. The service for the Sled was extortionate! 😉
Really worth the work. It looks very good. I recently bought a 23mod. Thought I would get used to the license plate hanger, but it will never be good. Looks like an E-bike. I will definitely do a tail tidy this winter. It makes the bike a bit more "masculine".
@@hallvardstorvik362 Yup! Any tail tidy is an improvement. Some folks like the OEM hanger. But to me it makes the bike look like a scooter from the rear. Definitely more 'scramblery' with it removed 😁
