Another episode of Books, Books, Books, and this is one from very early in my crafting journey, way back in 2012, when I'd really only just started out. It's based around images from the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady by Edith Holden, and for each of the twelve images, I've handwritten an extract of poetry which mentions the month in question. The cover is a Tim Holtz stamp; the pages are a...

These are great! Wonderful inspiration! Thank you for sharing.
Brilliant so glad I found you. I love embossing it’s always fascinated me when you heat set it. Than you for sharing your gorgeous art work x
OMG what a great idea ! toiletrolls! Gorgeous!!
Many, many years ago (decades) I formed the opinion that I did NOT like watercolor. It looked too messy, sloppy, indistinct. "Not for me" said I. You, my dear lady, have completely transformed my opinion! I LOVE this! So soft and dreamy.🥰 But now I am trying hard to talk myself out of buying paints and brushes....do I really need to travel down yet another crafty avenue?🎨 🙄😂🤷🏻♀️
And it's a long (and not cheap) avenue... but the watercolours have been an absolute joy to me. And I'm still exploring. So happy to have changed your mind just a little on watercolours. Explore some more before deciding, of course. For added temptation, have you seen this video? ruclips.net/video/AMisrNYVfRo/видео.html And/or take a look at some of my Sunday Swatching episodes... ruclips.net/p/PL8YgZDGC0XQX2eMWHYf8hDP_1sfNi7UG8 Or of course there's this: instagram.com/reel/CV7QfWBAMQH/ Or this: instagram.com/reel/CgumpFJj8lU/ Not sure whether you can see those last two if you're not on Instagram. You may have to copy and paste the links. Anyway - that's enough watercolour temptation from me for today!! Thanks so much for your company on this creative journey.
@@w0rdsandp1ctures Thanks for enabling my travels down the avenue! 😉😄🤷🏻♀️
Oh dear. I'm going to have to order some more masks/ stencils and stamps. Love, love love these tags
You can start off by just cutting a circle for the moon out of card... while you make up your mind about a shopping list of course!! So happy you love the tags. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Beautiful! 🌕
Thank you - hope you'll be inspired to have a play!
Beautiful
Thank you - happy you like them!
Hi, i stumbled upon your video and the 10 first second got me in aww. The amount of inspirations put togeter amazing. And im not saying how gorgeous all the tags are. I quickly look trough your channel and i did subscribe so many beautiful projects to look foward.
Happy you found your way here - welcome! I'm so happy you loved seeing all the moon tags, and I hope you'll find lots more to enjoy here on the channel. Thank you so much for watching, commenting and subscribing.
Love these!
Happy to hear that - thank you!
I love this book! One of my grandfathers was a lineman and a marine. The other drilled for oil in the old days. I’m 74. I have 2 xerox boxes of very old photos. They are in storage. I want to go look at them. They were such wonderful men. I have wanted to do a book for them. Yours has given me so many ideas. I’m hoping this new wretched eco printer will do sepia tones. Everything is so pale. Thanks again for another inspiring video. Hugs, treen 💕💕💕
Oh, that sounds as though it would make a wonderful album celebrating your grandfathers. I hope you'll be able to print the photos so that they shine. So happy you found inspiration here for that. Thanks, as always, for your company on this creative journey.
Well I’m off to save toilet rolls! What a simply beautiful little book. Thank you so much
Lots more making-of details and process photos in the blogpost linked in the description... I hope you'll have lots of fun with your toilet rolls when you've gathered them!
Beautiful 💙
Thank you!
😍😍😍
Thank you!
You always make the most beautiful pieces of art. Thanks for sharing your talent with us. ❤😃👏
That's so nice of you to say... thank you for your company on this creative journey.
This is so lovely! I’m certainly going to save some toiletrol holder. I already do save some nice pieces of cardboxes. So nice to play with. We all kept the child inside of use 😊
Excellent... it's so good to make something out of nothing (or at least out of rubbish/trash/waste). Have a wonderful time playing, and thank you for your lovely comment.
Thank you so much for sharing. I've just purchased the masks. So I'll try to follow your steps. Really magical!
Oh great... I hope you'll have lots of fun sharing. Always best not to try to end up with something exactly the same as mine (even I never get exactly the same result twice!), but be happy with whatever results you get... which I'm sure will be lovely. (And that way you avoid frustration/disappointment!) Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Oh, this is só inspiring. I must adjust this to my list of ideas for journals. I have 2 photos of my great grandfather on a ship that went almost daily from Enkhuizen to Stavoren on the Zuiderzee carrying passengers and trains (with cattle). It must have been just around 1900 and there are postcards of those ships too. Together with some family photos from that same time and some vintage paper it could make a great journal. Thank you so much for the inspiration Alison.
Yes, yes, yes... that sounds just amazing. How wonderful to have the photos of your great-grandfather at work on the ship - the perfect centrepiece to build one of your brilliant books around. Happy to have been part of the inspiration!!
You’re so talented! AMAZING ARTWORK! I’m obsessed with your designs! Absolutely gorgeous! I love your videos! Thank you so much for sharing, so inspiring!
What a lovely comment - that put a big smile on my face, thank you so much. Hope you'll be inspired to have your own few minutes of fun soon.
Simply amazing! Toilet paper rolls! who knew... I think I'll save a few😂😂😂😂😂😍😍😍😍😍😍
Yup, they're well worth hanging on to! And once you've squashed them flat, they don't take up much space while you're collecting enough for a book... Thanks, as always, for watching and commenting.
Beautiful ❤️
Thank you so much, Patti.
@@w0rdsandp1ctures I tried a moon scene without the stencils before watching this, I need to go back and fix some details! Thank you
Enjoying this series, you, and your time, so so very much! What a handsome little grungy journal! TYFS❤
Happy you liked it, Alyson - thank you for your company on this creative journey.
Ha! I knew I was saving those toilet rolls for something fun!! ❤
Excellent... you're ready to play! Have fun with them. Lots of process photos and making-of information in the blogpost linked in the description if you want a bit more guidance... Thanks for watching and commenting.
I love the moon, and watching you create lunar magic with ink and paper is a huge treat. I'm so inspired.
That's lovely to hear, thank you. And yes, the moon is a glorious source of inspiration.
Love your stamp set! And I especially like the idea of using more than one color of ink on a stamp, I had not even thought of that and it is like magic! Wow!🤩🤩🤩 first time viewer!❤❤❤❤❤
Happy you found your way here - welcome! I'm so pleased you encountered a new way to play... I hope you'll have lots of fun exploring with multi-inked stamping! Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Just Fabulous! 😍👍❤️
Thank you so much - happy you enjoyed it.
Oh my gosh, I love this book! I wish this stuff was still available. Great job!!! I want these so badly.
There are lots of very similar things still available. Many of the Idea-ology metal bits and bobs are around in one form or another, altered or updated, and the new Backdrops papers have similar designs on them. I'm quite tempted to create another one with some updated papers and trinkets... but it won't be this month - there's too much going on! Thanks, as always, for your company on this creative journey.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!!!!
Happy you enjoyed it - thanks for watching and commenting.
Your artwork is stunning! I have been mesmerized by your technique. Until you broke my heart (and copyright law). Unfortunately, you do NOT get to use someone else's words nor artwork without giving them credit. When I was watching the beginning of this video and you were reading the quotes you printed, I FULLY believed they were YOUR words. As a creative, I'm saddened to see you do this. I hope you never find someone selling your designs without giving you credit. I'm only saying this to inform. Not to judge. That is all. As I already said, you are creating beautiful and mesmerizing art. Thank you for putting beauty into our lives.
I would never do what you are suggesting. The creators of the quotes are absolutely fully credited on every stamp set... the name of the author/speaker/writer of the words is there with each quote (have a look here, scroll to the word collections two rows down - shop.paperartsy.co.uk/e-alison-bomber-392-c.asp and you will see.) The tag at 1.24 has the author's name stamped visibly (Edgar Allan Poe), which might give you a clue that neither that one, nor the others in the introduction are my own words. If you make it to minute four of the video, you can see one of the stamp sets there on the left, with the writers' names clearly visible on each quote. There is also a long section (from 32.54) where I demonstrate how to stamp the quotes without the authors' names, if that is what you want to do... and where it is very clear that the quotes are all attributed to their creators on the stamp set - in close-up. In addition, all of the quotes on my stamp sets are by writers, philosophers, poets and scientists who died well over 100 years ago, and whose words are therefore out of copyright - but I am still not claiming them as my own words - which is more than can be said for some quote stamps and stickers available. I am extremely diligent about checking that, and about correct attribution. There is also a video flip through of an entire journal where I have stamped the quotes with the authors and I speak the words out loud with their names too - ruclips.net/video/lCP5JpwYs0M/видео.html So I don't think you should allow your heart to be broken before looking a little deeper. I'm happy you are enjoying the artwork, and I assure you you can also enjoy the words without guilt or worry.
So cool!
Happy you like it, thank you.
Beautifully done, thanks for sharing your talent!
So happy you enjoyed it - thanks so much for taking the time to let me know.
My goodness watching your moon mask tags is speechless, you are so talented with all these inks, very inspiring, starting a day doing this must be a religion practice 😉❤️😄,thank you Alison
Thank you so much for that wonderful, thoughtful comment. There is something deeply spiritual about creative flow. I'm so happy you experienced that watching this video. Thank you so much for your company on this creative journey.

That is such a fun and fab way to use toilet rolls🤩 another wonderful book, Thank you so much for sharing, Alison🥰
Another thing to save and find space for! At least they don't take up much room when they're squashed flat! Happy you enjoyed it - and thank you for another lovely comment.

Men At Work…. on TP rolls. Hmmm…. 🤔 Dr. Freud….paging Dr. Freud. 🙃🙃🙃 As always this is so charming and well done and full of fun back stories. I have always wanted to find a use for the empty TP rolls, but I just know that my husband would throw a s&!t fit (pun intended of course) about me collecting more “art supplies” if I did. After seeing this idea I may have to overrule him. 🙂
They don't take up much room if you squash them flat right away... he won't even notice! Besides, he'll be busy at work, won't he?! Hope you're having a great week.
@@w0rdsandp1ctures HaHa 😂 I like the way you think. Yes, I believe I can slip that by him using your idea. Even though he is no longer a ‘man at work’, has retired and is at home most of the time now. Meanwhile, I am still working away, but only until October. It has been a lovely week so far. Thank you. Temperatures have been in the sixties. Fahrenheit of course. I am so grateful to live in a cool summer place! Enjoy the rest of your week and stay cool.
I'm sure he'll be busy with something, even if he's at home... just tuck them away when he's not looking! It's been pretty hot here this week, but we've got some gentler summer days on the way.
