The name Gringo Baker was given to me by in-laws and friends in Puerto Rico after they sampled my pies and other baked goods. I like it, so it seemed a great channel name.
I'm going to be sharing recipes and techniques in videos that I hope will show people how to make delicious baked goods. Many of the recipes I will use here are adapted from those created by other bakers, and some are originals that I created.
I hope you'll stay with me through my beginning videos, learn something, enjoy them, and subscribe.

Let's make Mac & Cheese
This Macaroni and cheese is nothing at all like the boxed stuff you can get at the supermarket. For one thing, you can pronounce the name of every ingredient! For another, it's baked in the oven to give it a crunchy top and blended flavors. You can make it as wet or dry as you like...I like it on the dryer side so I use a bit less milk when I make it. If you make it, let me know in the comments if you changed anything.
In fact, you can make it any way you like to meet your own personal preferences. You can choose a different cheese, no onion, more onion, more of less salt and pepper....it's all subject to change to suit yourself. And, it's quite easy to make to boot.

Can this recipe be made in the crockpot?
If you mean, "could you dump the raw onions and potatoes in and cook them in a the crockpot and then add the other ingredients?", I guess you could. It would not taste the same though because the onions weren't caramelized, plus you'd still need to fry the salt pork. It doesn't seem like a time saver to me. Thanks for your comment.

You could freeze it when it doesn't set up or eat it with a spoon. I believe humidity effects fudge (like divinity).

A store bought crust at Christmas time was 4.79, but now down to 429 the last time I looked. That seems like too much. I experimented last week and used two jiffy crust mixes and I'm going to throw it away. Didn't now there was such thing as too much crust. But like I said, come out unedible
