Why Did God Send a Deceiving Spirit? | (un)ANSWERED
"we take for granted the accuracy and authorship of the Bible"....... you're not "exposing" Bart, you're exposing yourself....
"I use scripture to interpret scripture" LOL!!! What a crock. All that means is "my interpretation agrees with my interpretation, so I must be right".
Why would such an intelligent, respectful and sincere Christian, throw pearls to this mean-spirited, rude, profane , arrogant SWINE ? I can hear the scriptures loud and clear on this one. “ I never knew you….. DEPART FROM ME!” How in the world could someone that deceived by that arrogant? Unbelievable
god made a pillar of salt out of lot's wife....poof!
I thank the algorithm for showing me this video and for reminding me that I probably say extraordinarily ignorant things like this man does with the same arrogance and certitude. How fortunate I am to as yet have RUclips recommend my impudence to every passerby.
Making the argument that headcoverings are null and void and mere tradition 'because the gift of prophesying has ceased' ignores the first part of the passage - "when PRAYING or prophesying." Has prayer ceased? 1st Thessalonians, 5:17, makes it clear that prayer was to be a continual thing - and didn't come to an end. I do not think that headcovering is null and void when we women are to pray.
Well making the argument that headcoverings was actually what Paul was referring to is also a mistake. Paul was referring to Long hair being the covering. First of all if you read from KJV you won’t find Paul referring to a hat or a veil he consistently uses the word to cover and uncover which are verbs not a nouns. Then if you were to count up all the words that refer to hair is comes up to seven (shorn/shaven 4x and hair 3x). So although I do not believe what Paul was preaching was null and void but he was referring to covering the head with long hair for women. Regarding praying or prophesying, the assumption is a that Paul was referring to only two instances which is not true he was merely giving us two examples. This also applies to men about being uncovered. Evidence of this is written in the forgoing verses. Paul writes that men ought not to cover because he is the image and glory of God. And then Paul goes into how woman was made for man and is the glory of the man. So it would seem that man shouldn’t be covered at any time if he is the glory and image of God. Paul also mentions that the mere observation of a praying woman should make us note how uncomely (unappealing in appearance) for a woman to be uncovered. Paul states this in a way that it should be obvious to anyone that she looks off in verse 13. He does this again in verse 14 about how shameful it looks if a man has long hair. He says it this way… Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? KJV So this judgement that we should make is exclusively based on observation of an “uncovered” woman as well as a long haired man. Two consecutive questions both appealing to something innate or within us. Paul is in essence saying that it should be obvious to see that something is wrong or off. So how is it that for the women we are somehow to know within us that a woman would be unappealing in appearance without a manufactured veil? That does not seem logical especially since the word veil is never mentioned. Unless that is not what Paul is meaning but rather that if the woman was not covered in long hair (meaning her hair is short) doing something holy or godly LIKE praying or prophesying. I think most people can relate that looking at a woman with short hair does have an unappealing appearance. It naturally provokes head turns. And if there was any question Paul flat out states what he was talking about in verse 15. So the facts are that there no nouns to use as evidence of a veil. There is evidence that Paul was using praying and prophesying as examples. Paul appeals to nature and something innate within us to judge that being uncovered or covered (meaning having short hair or long hair) should be obvious to all. So this cannot make sense with a manufactured veil.
In my experience, and having atteded a Fundamentalist college, Christian apologists distort the truth to squeeze their beliefs into their own predetermined mold. It is dishonest. They are also usually condescending sarcastic, as evidenced in this video. CHRISTIANS are why I left the church.
So god can make sure that the correct gospels and writings make it into the bible but cant make sure the scribes correctly write everything down? Lol
Bravo Travis. The guardrails Protestants have placed around their beliefs is incredible. It’s the one thing I love about LDS theology, we love truth. The more truth we can get the better. Travis’s deep understanding of the historical nature of the text and the plain approach brings so much to light. Thank you!!
There is no verse to justify the interpretation that a woman has to be covered with an artificial head covering before God. The topic does not delve into glory or covering because of glory. Women CAN go before God the way God made them with long hair. He did not make them with a hat or veil. There is no verse justifying artificial head covering for church or prayer. Long hair IS the covering (1 Cor 11:15)
I’m glad that Travis seems to know what the hell God’s words mean cause Mormon leaders sure as hell never say anything about it. Travis will not commit himself to the text of the bible books because they’re written by multiple unknown authors AND ALSO will not commit himself to Kimball’s words even though Kimball was a supposed prophet?! Mormonism is so stupid. Mormonism is so full of contradiction and inconsistency it’s laughable. “BuT iTs OnGoInG rEvELaTioN”. Fuckin dumb

Women's hair is their glory, God has His own great glory too. Women should not be coming before God with their glory uncovered. Head covering during prayer or in church is mainly humbling yourself before the God of glory.
There is no verse to justify your interpretation that one has to be covered like with an artificial head covering before God. The topic does not delve into glory or covering because of glory. You are letting your imagination take the best of you. You should just stick to what is written not what you like for it to mean or say.
@AnthonyGranda-yq6fo 1 corinthians 11:13 I'm sure it refers to physical covering. There are many testimonies on utube where God spoke to many women regarding head covering. As a man u shud not be involved in this. I cover my head full time and Holy spirit has confirmed that it's the write thing to do since I pray without ceasing.
@AnthonyGranda-yq6fo 1 corinthians 11: 16 what "Practice" was Paul referring to here? Head covering was and is a practice that honors God.
@@kelebogilemathevula9806 1 Corinthians 11: 16 says: But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God. Paul was seeing that some women were cutting their long hair short (referred as uncovered) and some men keeping their hair long (referred to as covered). A custom that we as believers do not have. You are not reading the Bible thoroughly. Paul was not referring to an “artificial” covering that is why you won’t find the word cloth or veil, but you will find the words hair 3 times and the action of cutting hair in shorn and shaven 4 times. It’s why Paul asks us make a judgment by observing if it looks right that a woman be not covered in verse 13. Not covered in what a hat? why would it LOOK wrong and how would we innately know that it would look wrong? unless he means a woman not covered in long hair. Same as with the following question in verse 15 about how it LOOKS shameful for a man to be with long hair. There is no Christian practice of a synthetic covering. You can’t even find such an idea anywhere else in the Bible.
Hmmmm. I’m more reformed … but I absolutely believe there are demons possessing unbelievers and oppressing believers and that they can absolutely still be cast out! Not in the new age sense but it can be done, with the gospel truth- I have a Christian friend who was having terrible night terrors, she’d wake up feeling like she was being choked. She recorded her episodes one night and then heard a demonic voice speaking in Latin on the recording. They had an Eastern Orthodox priest come and bless the home and she has not had a single instance since… now is this the priest that is so powerful? Absolutely not it was Christs power and the Holy Spirit that can make any miracle happen! While I don’t agree with the Orthodox Church in many areas , I absolutely know these are devout God loving people who seek the Lord whole heartedly and this experience was real for them. We cannot put the spiritual in a box

Mormons are not a discerning people. If they were, they wouldn't be Mormons...
Evangelicals are not a discerning people. If they were, they wouldn't believe in the self contradictory Sola Scriptura. They wouldn't believe the Biblical text are infallible nor inerrant.
One has a real degree and the other one is in the lying-for-Jesus franchise.
Travis has some major anger and rudeness issues. He needs mental help.
Ehrman also watches ESPN. Heresy.

Travis expertly dismantled Aaron's misunderstanding of the false doctrineof sola scriptura, highlighting its inconsistencies, and exposed Aaron's lack of knowledge about LDS theology, leaving him thoroughly embarrassed in the discussion and posts this video anyway for all to see the smackdown.
That is why they had to heavily edit the video.
Dude in the suit was incredible. So was the bearded one. Both great. Both from a debate standpoint but far more importantly a spiritual standpoint. Wish they would talk more about what they agree on rather than what they disagree on!!!
what we disagree on is what matters though.
@@MrChoco409completely disagree with that statement. Doesn’t surprise me though hearing this. This is far more entertaining than effective. Nothing positive or worth note ever came from Bible bashing. They aren’t interested in truth as much as debating and trying to out fuel the other. Of course we don’t know but I can not see Jesus engaging in these frivolous conversations. He spoke with such wisdom and thought provoking messages and parables.
Ok james white your religion is true, magic man, human blood sacrifice, talking snake and all Apologists are so fruity in the head
Everything this guy says is horse shit.
First, that is not circular reasoning, it is a contrapositive. Second, if God could guide the authors to write what He wanted them to write, why would it be so difficult or unbelievable for Him to guide the scribes to make accurate copies? Further, I’m pretty sure this guy is misquoting Ehrman, if my memory is correct. Won’t swear to that without checking, though.

Let me save you lots of time on pretty much 98% of Evangelical - Mormon debates> (1) LDS theology has a different standard of orthodoxy than other Christians. It has the only one mentioned in the Bible: Prophetic/Apostolic unanimity, although Catholics claim a less straightforward, relationship to apostolic ordination (See Acts 1, and 2 Peter 1). This standard of orthodoxy is the reason why Joseph Smith always described priesthood organizations within the Restored Church of Jesus Christ "quorums." (2) Because of the above, a critic of the Church merely mentioning the words of a Prophet or Apostle doesn't necessarily constitute a meaningful claim against LDS theology. (3) LDS theology does not subscribe to the metaphysical interpretations of the Bible that came into existence in the 4th century, which rejects the Divine Council (a doctrine that is the overwhelming modern consensus of Bible scholars, including some Evangelical ones, and includes the existence of other beings called "gods"); which accepts the "mystical" Trinity probably best described by the Athanasian Creed, and which is universally rejected by modern philosophers on the simple basis that it's logically incoherent, and which relies heavily on the Greek philosophy that was in fashion at the time. There is also very flimsy reasons to rely on Evangelical philosophical interpolations about eternity, the nature of Creation, etc. The Bible mostly doesn't mention anything along these lines, and is actually extremely ambiguous when it seems like it does. In terms of textual criticism (focusing on the actual words of the Bible in their historical context) traditional philosophical innovations among most Christians hold ZERO water. (4) LDS theology rejects sola scriptura and is able to deal with contradictory commands of God found throughout the Bible on the basis that God reveals things, throughout time, "line upon and precept upon precept," adapting his commands to the circumstances of his people, and even their ability to keep his commandments and understand the doctrine. This principle also explains how it's possible that various folk doctrines have been part of LDS beliefs, but have been superceded by later revelations giving more clarity. (A straightforward example of this in the Bible is God commanding that Israel have no king, then ordaining one--probably to teach them that even the most righteous of earthly kings can easily fail, unlike Jesus). (5) LDS theology embraces the traditional, Jewish understanding of the meaning of priesthood authority and ordination, which is why there are whole sections of the New Testament that cover it (especially in the Epistle to the Hebrews) re-affirming the priesthood, and that the Messiah was a priesthood holder (implying that we must also become). Hebrews even contains an account of the Father ordaining Jesus! Hellooo?!!! Jesus also sought out his cousin, an Aaronic priesthood holder, to baptize him, and the Apostles continued ordaining priesthood holders throughout the history contained in the New Testament (particularly noticeable in Acts).
Every time they speak, they testify against the scriptures they claim to get authority from. LDS can claim the same authority. They have a Bible, and they interpret it. lol
A woman’s hair is her glory 1 Cor. 11:15. Why should she parade her glory for anyone besides her husband?
Why are you making up ideas here? Have you no fear that God can get you for trying to add to his words? A woman walking around with her hair out in the open is not "parading." You are trying to demonize the universal practice of women walking around with their heads not covered in a veil or hat as evil, by incorporating the word "parading," when no such word is being mentioned. NEITHER does it mention the word "husband" if you read it from the King James version. What you are doing is IMPOSING YOUR BELIEFS with scripture and that is a dangerous game to play. I suggest you repent.
You have a serious problem and don't know it. Women walking naturally without a hat is not parading. This vilification of hair uncovered is a demonic spirit. Nothing you said can be biblically proven.REPENT.
This may sound odd but I've recently been led to see that covering her head in prayer, is covering her husband in her prayers. A good wife crowns her husband. The man isn't to cover his head but expose it because you pray with Jesus as your cover. Many women come to God before their husbands and lead the husband to Christ to be crowned. You are supposed to pray for your husband's salvation, success, etc. it's disgraceful not to... that is a woman's head covering. His success is her success if they are 1 in Christ.
May I ask that you consider first some bible versions use "wife" and "husband," but the KJV employs "woman" and "man." This difference can lead some readers to interpret the chapter as applicable only to married couples, a view not supported by the KJV. Therefore, a minor misunderstanding of a few words can significantly alter the meaning of the entire passage. If we examine verses 4 to 15 without bias, it becomes evident that certain passages explicitly refer to physical heads and hair. Unfortunately, some interpret the term "covering" which I am including in this instance the words “cover,” “uncovered” and “covering” since veil promoters claim that they refer to the donning or lack of an artificial covering, as referring to Jesus or a husband. In this view such persons are claiming that a man or person can serve as a woman's covering. This interpretation, however, arises from a misunderstanding of what is a covering, which in this case means long hair. As nice as it may sound that women should be covered in Jesus or a husband but men are not supposed to be covered therefore it becomes nonsensical. First, the term "husband" does not appear in the King James Version at all. Second, interpreting the covering as referring to Jesus or a husband disrupts the passage's context. For instance, it seems implausible that Paul intended to convey that a man does not need a husband or Jesus as a covering in verses that state a man should not cover his head like in verse 4. “Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.” Finally, there is no established link between the concept of a "covering" and either Jesus or a husband. Upon closer examination, this reasoning becomes both confusing and illogical.
@FA-God-s-Words-Matter it does actually make sense when you also take into account that when you are in Christ there's neither male nor female. The reason is because you have died to your physical body meaning that you are not defined by it, but by the holy Spirit. This head covering command is about wives being a helper to the husband, understanding of a love for someone who might not love you, doing it out of humility and submission to God... your husband might even be harsh and oppressive, as men often were to there wives during that time. There's a reason why the heads are pointed out. Do you think it's proper for every man to lay claim as the head of a woman can a man who is not a woman's husband lay claim to her? I implore you to look back at the garden and see if you can spot Adams sin because it starts as soon as he's brought the female.
@@jpsphoto-vision8803 If you are taking into account that we are “in Christ there's neither male nor female.” Then why then bring up the idea about husbands or wives. I don’t think you realize that there is a contradiction here You said this “head covering command is about wives being a helper to the husband” I am a bit flabbergasted. Where are you getting the words wives or husband. I mean this sincerely, which verse are you reading this idea from? Let’s start from verse 3. “But I would have you know, that the head of EVERY MAN is Christ; and the head of the WOMAN is the MAN; and the head of Christ is God.” (KJV) So right from the beginning we are talking about Christ, God, MEN and WOMEN. Not certain types of men or women like husbands or wives but ALL MANKIND. Now to verse 4 and 5. “EVERY MAN praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. But EVERY WOMAN that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. So again, we see that they make it a point to repeat that we are talking about all men and all women, not husbands or wives. Now to verses 8 and 9. “For the MAN is not of the WOMAN: but the WOMAN of the MAN. Neither was the MAN created for the WOMAN; but the WOMAN for the MAN.” Why is the man not of the woman? Because she came from man. Verses 8 and 9 refer to creation so this is not about husbands or wives. It would sound illogical if they were talking about marital people. Woman came from the man not wives from a husband. These verses alone should cause you to re-evaluate your thinking on this matter. So now we have several instances that this passage is focusing on all men and women. This means that this is not about God asking wives to do something for their husbands. This should be very clear.
Wow this is too good. I love the way Aaron continually circles back on his argument, despite it being destroyed time and time again by Travis. Well done Travis!
What demon possessed person in the Bible's NT was freed of such possession upon hearing of the Gospel before being exorcised?
I am an evangelical christian and i have a lot of morman friends. They are absolutely wonderful people, very patriotic, extremely family oriented and I love them. But they dont see Jesus as evangelical christians. They believe Jesus is one of many gods and he is lucifers brother. They also believe in salvation through good works and faith. They are really wrapped up in what they can do to be worthy when Jesus blood is sufficient nothing else. Good works are the result of being saved not what gives u salvation. Unfortunately my wonderful morman friends are under bondage and constantly feel unworthy and under condemnation constantly trying to keep themselves saved. Its a hopeless task and eventually leads to them living in a constant state of guilt. Accept Jesus as your only way to salvation. Accept the FREE Gift thats it nothing more. Do good works because you are a new person in Christ.
That's about the dumbest take on The topic I've heard Dr White. That isn't the only reason that he expresses It has a lot to do with the tens of thousands of anachronisms and contradictions that are in the Bible what's childlike is that you think that you can lie in a day in an age where the internet and all the information you need to look these things up is sitting right in front of you You don't even have to move.
Bart Ehrman was a Christian long after realizing there were errors in the Bible. He became agnostic because he couldn’t explain suffering.
How can you still preach this after Travis completely debunked you in your interaction with him? I would highly recommend you go and watch the video between you and him on his channel again.
It’s a prophecy

Brother, and I'm speaking this in love, this theory is always only told by someone who has no experience with casting demons out.
That is typically the case. And, by the same people, personal experience is viewed as inadmissible/flawed. They are basing that upon what they read in Scripture. Are you able to provide insight on the topic? Or, scripture that states otherwise?
