Thank you to MiiCoffee for both their videos on resetting the zero point! If this doesn't work for other folks, perhaps you ran into the same issue I did: I let someone else use my grinder this morning and the zero point got messed up. Not sure how it happened, they've used the grinder before so they should know the drill, but something happened and the grinder was grinding more coarse than previously. I adjusted the zero point and was still pulling shots way too fast. After attempting to zero multiple times I removed the top burr carrier and noticed that the ring bearing was slightly raised (these are the bearings in the smaller hole, not the gasket/pressure ring). I pulled it off and cleaned out a bunch of coffee that had worked its way into the bearing, re-assembled, and noticed the zero point was a bit further than it was previously and the chirping was more consistent at that point. The grinder sound was much more pleasant than before, the grind was finer, and the next shot I pulled actually took too long! If this video didn't fix things and your chirping feels like it's on a ~5 notch range instead of being very tight (~1 notch), re-zeroing doesn't feel as fine as before, and shots pull way too fast even at a 0 grind, try the steps above to clean the ring bearing.

The easiest way is to use the air duster to blow air into both sides.

Finally now i can pull it out thank you, i just trim the edge and now can easily remove it anytime

Is some amount of lower burr carrier wobble normal on these? Mine has some visible wobble on the lower burr and I think it’s probably detrimental to grind quality

You should release a version of the user manual for the v1.1 machine. I did not appreciate having to find a video to figure out how to use the pre-infusion features. Thanks!

Anyone have any issues taking off the chute for cleaning? The one screw on the bottom of the cute just keeps turning and wont come out

It's kind of shitty that we can't rezero the DF54 easily. I hope this will be fixed in future designs.

It’s a great grinder, but a very short shelf life. A lot of electrical issues. I bought mine off Amazon, clearly been refurbished and then it shorted about 3 weeks later. But it was really good while it lasted

you kidding me that you spend all that money on a grinder and you still have to make adjustments where I understand should be done by manufacturer. I pass it.

Don't turn the grinder on! Just turn the burrs by hand! It's both dangerous and damages the burrs.

I have the white model and I was positively surprised by the really good build quality and the design. The best "feature" of this scale is that the bottom is flat. So you don't need to worry about the placements of the feet like on other scales. Furthermore the display in my white model is all white and not red like in the video. In my opinion, the white display timer looks better.

People just need an aftermarket rubber dial indicator instead of a heat gun. Also stupid that you cannot have a similar zero to df64 that’s so weird to not be able to zero

This man is giving you instructions usually reserved for discerning enthusiasts of coffee. Not really the crowd a $230 grinder attracts. Of course your machines are under warranty and you could send them back. Just know that people who spend a lot more money on other grinders do this because they want to improve the grinding. Not because they have to. My df54 is working great but I came here to get guidance on disassembly because I will be testing alignment on mine soon. Thank you for this video.

This doesn't 'adjust' anything. It establishes where the so called Zero Point is. And frankly that ring is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. I know that it was a darling of the community that grew in response to the shortcomings of the original DF64 but what it does is so trivial that it has almost no point. Do you know what would have been helpful? A mark on the housing to align the grind adjustment ring with. But 2 seconds with a Sharpie solves that.

I love the white one, i cannot decide between the df64 or the df83.😅 decisions,decisions.

I'm glad this option is available for aligning the burrs. This is quite advanced for your average consumer. I would assume anyone with an issue would expect the warranty to handle this type of work.
