I'm looking to build my first watch and cannot decide on a movement.. a lot of RUclipsrs use the nh35 and I have one in my cart but is something else worth the extra money that would be more accurate out of the box? I'm wanting to build pretty much that exact watch. Explorer Dial and Tudor style hands with blue lume and a presidential style bracelet. My last name starts with S so I'm wanting a Seiko crown as well. Lol

Thanks for the video, you make the opening and closing of the cap jewel look so easy. I have just started on my watch servicing journey practicing on the ST1812 on my first attempt broke the clip trying to replace after flying off. Unfortunately I have been unable to source a replacement hey ho. :)

How can I tell which quality-version I have in a SW330-1 (GMT) - it is so accurate (-1/+4 seconds/ day on wrist) that I wonder if it is a Premium version, not just the plain Special (Elabore) version I presumed was installed - probably not a COSC as no certificate. I cannot tell if it has a Nickel balance wheel, or the tell-tale Glucydur one used in the top 2 versions, and the engravings probably indicate Refined finishing. It also has DM19.2/533 etched in gold next to the balance wheel but may be something to do with the custom gold etched rotor or other upgrades for the micro brand.

Little bit hard to set and read the date though? It seems to be under the dial :-).

May I ask where you purchased ANY of the components? You seem rather cryptic for some unknown reason.

why purchase a dial without a "hole" for the date, when the movement does have that function, is beyond me.

Cost more for parts.

I noticed the white stripe on the plastic bag used to protect the dial while removing the hands left a mark on the dial. You may want to be careful to ensure any printing on the plastic bag is facing up (or use a plastic bag with no printing on it) to avoid leaving any marks on the dial.

I really like the watch case and bracelet on your build. Are these available in a slightly smaller size, like a 34 or 36mm? I know the movement, dial and dial would have to match accordingly. I'll do a bit of research as well. Thanks, Jimbo

Absolute noob to the servicing / fixing side here, just considering which of his broken watches will be a first attempt at modding/estoring, having watched umpteen videos over the last 6 months. I have this ETA movement in my Sector 950 Titanium watch. Always impressed by the really smooth sweep of the seconds hand; hardly any judder. It's smoother than even the equivalent Rolex, and that's saying something! Enjoyed the video

This model SKX is probably Malaysian- made, showing the nylon calendar and date changing cogs. I was told that the Japanese -made "J" model uses metal cogs for that, not Nylon? Any truth in that, as I have seen Seikos from the 1970s using nylon.
