That’s good to hear, it’s not a quick journey but it’s very rewarding. If you like to read have a look at a book called “Watchmaking” by George Daniels.
Oh my lord. I have been in the transmission business for almost 40 years and the complexity of this watches function astounds me. I have had my Grandfathers chronodato wrapped in a Crown Royal bag in my dresser with my other watches since I turned 18. I was told by my uncles and my mother that my grandfather purchased the watch while he was in France during WWII. I would be interested in a full restoration of the watch. Can you recommend someone or is this something you would do?
Did you end up getting your watch serviced? I have a similar story but I serviced mine and had a horrible experience, with the watch working worse after the expensive service.
@@moshealexander6639 I have not. I look around the internet a couple times a year but I am always hesitant to put the watch in a fedex box and ship it off to someone I haven’t looked in the eye.
A perfect job at the height of a great professional. Fantastic.
Very beautiful watch and a great job!

i am learning to become a watchmaker.

Great work. As a suggestion...Perhaps I'm alone, but I find the music distracting. I enjoy the ambient noise of you working, etc.
Thanks Mike, I’m always torn with having some background music or not as some of the footage is sped up with some noises sounding odd.

I have to do some work on one of these, where do you recommend finding and purchasing replacement parts?
I couldn’t find huge amount of spares for these, you sometimes get spare movements come up for auction which can get you what you need.
do you have a hamilton 987 f?
Would you be interested in servicing my angelus exactly the same. Please get in touch if you are! Cheers Ben
Can I send you my Chronodato in for repair... no joke
