I have the Amphion Argon One in at home now for about 4 years now. The price is a few 300 euro’s more then I bought my pare. I made the mistake to buy my Marantz amp with the intension to use Bower and Wilkins speakers (after a review). So when my dealer gave the message the the Marantz deliverd to him I asked him if he could set up the amp with the speakers that I in mind. That was a disaster, the B&W sounded much to agressive in the highs. So I went for a search and I had a listen to 4 speakers: Kef Ls50, (with I lovend), Sonus Lumina, Kef R3, a Horn loaded JBL and the Amphions. Although I loved the Ls50, the Sonus sounded to harsh, the JBL could not convince me and the Amphions: they spoke to me. I was in love with the sound and they sounded even good with Rock, Jazz, Electronic and Classical music. Voices so clear and fine, good bass, great mids. Even at this price I buy them without a doubt because they are sounding so good even with low listening levels. Greating, Ludo Belgium

You mentioned that the argon one is not the best speaker for lower volumes. I almost always listen to music at low volumes. What speaker do you recommend for this purpose?

You re say, dbr62 sound more like dark, but what speakers could compare it at same price point that can sounds bright and clear?

It's good to know that you can "almost" hear sounds from behind you. 😂 With the $5 hello kitty Bluetooth speaker that I found at the bus stop, I can "almost" hear sounds from behind me on that too. 😉

Hey great review! I noticed you have the Sony surround system, which I have too. Have you ever used a separate amp to power them? lol. I found they do go vry loud, but sound a bit bright in the upper midrange and a fairly rolled off considering they have a super tweeter. My actual stereo system uses the Technics Sb c-700, pair with 15" PSA sub connected to a Marantz amp.

Mam te monitory. Po zamianie części na zwrotnicy plus drobna modyfikacja poprawia nieco przejrzystosc wysokich i ogólną rodIelczość. Fabrycznie zwrotnica wykonana na bardzo niskiej jakości podzespołach. Np ten sam opornik miedzy jedna a druga kolumną 30% rozjazd. Az trzy elektrolity, i jeden jedyny kiepski kondensator foliowy w torze wysikim. Lepsze graty nie zmieniaja tego monitora diametralnie ale dzięki nim zbliżamy sie do założenia konstruktora i tyle. Co do grila na wysokotonowcu, tak jest plastikowy wraz z całą tubą. Jednak co do srednio-niskotonowca całość jest metalowa. Całkowicie aluminiowy kosz łącznie z widocznym z zewnatrz pierscieniem, który jest integralną częścią kosza. Nie ma tam plastiku. Za to z tylu jest wielki i ciezki mages. Pozdrawiam.

good review but the amplification you use is not mentioned... it is key to have an idea of what to expect... question: where did you get the speaker stands ? they look great

I love mine. They require break in . After 40 hrs they shine. Impressive bass . Great paired with my CA AXR100 and RSL 10e sub.

I feel like this is more a review of your near field listening position than the speakers... of course that's what they sound like if you sit almost between them. There are many other speakers better suited to near field listening. It reminds me of an on track truck review lol.

These speakers are voiced with the grills on, so should be reviewed with the grills on. Great speakers.

I love the small size, they are perfect for a desktop setup. Should they match with my Arcam A25 amp + my SVS sb-1000 pro sub?

Does it need a subwoofer? Or is the bass good enough? I listen primarily r&b and hip hop. Some songs with a lot of 808.

Why is the frequency response so bad on any speaker you're measuring? I see the same trend on any measurement, indicating that your room is the main culprit. The mids and highs plummet. I've never seen this occurring...

Can anybody give me a hand. Need to choose between them, wharfedale diamond 12.2 and monitor audio bronze 100. Just use then in a 2.0 setup for Musik and bit tv/ps5

They will shine if you feed them more power. Like a used exposure and so. They can then outperform many other more expensive. But yes, they are picky in amps:)

A casa mia suonano benissimo, le preferisco alle polk audio reserve r100 e alle wharfedale evo 4.2 , sono diffusori che ho avuto in casa.

I bought QX1 MK2 recently. Wanted to return them. After a few days; the speakers loosened up. THEY ARE STAYING. They present a captivating tonal landscape even when just playing low res radio streams. They are domineering my LX3 MK2's in my quad setup. So.. LX3 to be replaced with ELAC DB63 or QX2 MK2?

I like the way you present your experience with speakers. I am looking for bookshelf speakers up to $500; my favourites are Q Acoustics 3030i (temporarily out of stock), KEF 150, and Elac Debut 6.2. You tested all three speakers; what would you suggest for someone who likes to listen to rock, jazz, and blues and has a medium-large room? Thanks for the advice!

It needs good match with a bright amplifier to sound perfect. Excellent sound for the price. Musical and very good for long listening as it is easy and soothing on ear.

KEF Q350 for me.

Elac dbr62 640 euros and Q3030i 420 euros in my country.Elac looks cheaper vs Q3030i wallnut colour.The vinal wrap between the two is better on 3030i.I bought q3030i and iam very happy,Very deep bass (like a small floorstander),nice airy uppermids and non offensive fatiguing highs.Elac is very pricey for what it offers.

This is a luxury speaker.It's perfect for my big listening room.With real deep bass responce and without bright uppemids and highs.
