@@bentring333 I think you’re implying that this isn’t real. If so, I would urge you to check out the full video where I find this coin. For staters, the coins is valued at nearly £1000. If you think I have the spare cash to buy and plant a coin like this, then think again. Thanks for watching!
Brilliant day out
Congrats on the Beautiful Gold Coin. Excellent Find. I found my first one over a year ago. I've been detecting for 17 years in the States. Take Care Crazie Digging

How do you even beat that! Big Congratulation from Sweden. I recently found a ”Swedish silver 1 Mark 1608 King Karl IX” and it was my best find of 2024. But that Celtic find is definitely something else! Cheers!🍻
@@znarkz thank you my friend! I seem to have a lot of people watching from Sweden and Europe, which is really cool! I just looked up the King Karl IX online and it looks like a fantastic coin! I bet you were very happy! The Celtic stater is a once in a life time find, in a way I’m sad I found it so early into my metal detecting career because it’s going to be so hard to beat and anything other than that will likely not bring back that same amazing feeling! Thank you for watching 😁👍🏽
@@CrosbyCollects yeah I truly was very happy, yeah most of the metal detecting channels seems to be from Great Britain, you have so many great fields and the history impact of your lands is amazing, I mean from Roman, Celtic, Anglo Saxon, all medieval history, even Viking got damn it 😅 keep on searching you will for sure find more gold it must exist endless stuff in the grounds.

@TimHarris-x7y thank you for the support Tim, always appreciated my friend. The same to you and good luck on your next hunt! 😁
Incredible finding friend. Congratulations, that moment is the culmination of any detectorist. Greetings from Spain
@@OVERLANDGRANADA Hola!! Thank you my friend! It was a fantastic day, one I will never forget! 😁 All the best to you 👍🏽
Is the soil in England acidic? In Finland, most soil and clay fields are acidic and it is toxic to old Swedish and Russian copper coins. A copper coin that is already 200 years old may be in poor condition. Coins are better preserved in sandy fields. Forest finds are more often in better condition than field finds.
Nice job Jacob. You have to be happy any day you get 3 hammered. Thanks for sharing. 🇦🇺
Object at 15.16 reminds me of part of a match lock firing mechanism
Epic year....the things dreams are made of 🙌 really enjoy following your channel 😊

Great video and yet more excellent finds. You've got yourself a fantastic permission there - hopefully the adjoining field will be just as prolific.
@@bwc1878 cheers mate, I hope so! Hopefully won’t be long now before getting on there! Hope you’re well and managing to get out buddy! 👍🏽
@@CrosbyCollects Can't wait to get back out there after yet another huge storm has once again put a stop to detecting, Jake (there's no such thing as climate change, honest, guv). Especially as a couple of days ago I seemed to have hit a lovely sweet spot for Roman coins - maybe a site where locals were trading with soldiers from the nearby (scheduled monument) camp? Anyway, in my part of the world it's pretty rare to find Roman anything, so I'm itching to get back into the same field once the weather has finally calmed down. Keep up the fantastic work with your channel and really looking forward to seeing what you find next 👍
First time watcher, been detecting for about a year in the USA, Great Stuff 👍 will go back and watch your earlier Videos, Thanks Always, Indiana Nathan.
Thanks for you comment Nathan and for watching and supporting the channel. Hopefully I will see you in the comments section in the future! - Jake 😁👍🏽
That Edward coin I think might be an Eddy the second. And I don’t think it’s been clipped I think it’s been badly struck. That’s a lucky find because badly struck coins were usually re-struck in a better way.
@@raymondberry9482 I had a feeling I might have seen a comment from you being able to identify this! 😁 I do try by using the Spink book but really struggle to work out the lettering a lot of the time. Thank you very much mate for your help once again! 👍🏽
@@CrosbyCollects I actually spent a day once trying to learn all the little differences between the three Eddy coins 😂😂😂 they all look the same but there are differences. Also, I don’t know if you know but on the back you can see where the coin was struck. If it says CIVITAS from 12 o’clock to 6 o’clock position that means it was struck in london. But that’s all I remember. I did try to learn about identifying the different classes of coins as well but that gave me a headache 😂
@@raymondberry9482 Ah is that what Civitas means! I always thought it was the different emblems at the top of coins that indicated where they were minted! Every day is a school day!
@ well, it actually means “City” and as London was the only thing nearest the UK had to a city back then it’s generally accepted that it indicates the coin was made in London.
I need to get my detector dusted off and have a go. Great finds. Great to see you really enjoying the hobby.
@@chriscrosby5527 let’s go out soon! 👍🏽🚶🏽➡️
Hello mate. The little “shield” is an heraldic pendant. It would have been worn by noble families and loyal members of their household to signify which family they had a an allegiance to. The design on them was usually the heraldic symbols of the noble family. Great little find.

That’s a great permission, some great stuff coming up
Thanks buddy, it certainly is, very lucky! Thanks for your comment - Jake :)
dont mind me just stamps on a hammered coin 😂😂😂
Hahaha, happens far too often!
The copper coin is from the Dutch city of Utrecht, a 'Duit', issued by the VOC, the Dutch East India Company. Good luck from the Netherlands

The item you describe as a nail/hair clip is a medieval lace chape.
I was thinking that aswell.
Brilliant thank you, it’s a peculiar little object. From what I have just read online a Lace chape is similar to a strap end? Used to stop fabric from fraying? Thanks again! 😁
@@CrosbyCollects Welcome and yes, similar function to the plastic on the end of our bootlaces.
Another excellent video and some fantastic finds, Jake. BTW, the object you thought might be a hairpin looks like it might be the pin off a Roman brooch to me, but that's just a guess. Keep up the great work!
@@bwc1878 thanks Marcus, it was a brilliant day, so nice to be able to get back onto this field again. Funnily enough another person commented the same thing about it being a fibula!
