Congrats on the 'half crown' find, but especially on your detective work afterwards to identify exactly what that coin really was. Don't know about you, but it never ceases to amaze me just how many good finds come out of the ground within seconds of deciding to head home. It's almost as if they've been waiting all that time for us to call it a day! The lesson being, I guess: never stop searching.
@@bwc1878 Marcus! Thank you as ever for your comment my friend. You’ve hit the nail on the head there mate! I saw a video sometime last year of a chap who did a days detecting walking to and from his car. Unsurprisingly most of his good finds came from when he was walking back to the car! 😅 as you say, never give up! Happy hunting to you mate
@@CrosbyCollects I seem to remember that you're a fellow admirer of the Scottish Detectorist, Crosby. And likewise he seems to stumble across some of his best finds just when he's about given up and is on his way back to the car. I think they call it karma! Keep up the excellent work and look forward to seeing your next vid👍
Watching detecting on RUclips is as close as I get at the moment, my knee has been buggered for a while and it's driving me nuts, great content again 👍
Have you got any English Civil War battle sites or skirmish sites near you? If so you could have ECW camp site and that would explain the Charles 1st coins and lots of musket balls. Keep your eyes open for lead apostle caps as they do turn up on sites of the period and look like a lead lid but with two side lugs
@@dm51964 Hello buddy! Do you know what? I’ve never thought of that, what a great shout. I’ll have to do some digging and will definitely update you on a future video, really good theory! Happy hunting mate
@@carpman1carpman154 hi mate, not sure what you mean by this? The word ‘fraud’ on the thumbnail picture refers to the counterfeit coin found in this video. Hope this clears it up for you :)
Heading towards 1000 subscribers. Best wishes and happy hunting out there.
