Yep, No 1 had to be, could only be the stater (I can't tell you just how damn jealous I am about that find!). It's been a real pleasure following your detecting adventures this year, Jake. Looking forward to watching you find much more next year. Thanks for taking us all along on the ride with you 👍
Thanks as ever Marcus, it was a cracking year, made better by people like yourself who interact on the videos and make a lonely hobby, a little more sociable :D All the best to you in the new year! - Jake
@@CrosbyCollects BTW if it's of any consolation, I did my own first gold coin dance recently. I use the word 'dance' in the loosest possible sense, you understand. More like an embarrassing stagger around the hole with my arms and legs doing whatever they wanted without any real co-ordination forthcoming from my head. Still, one has to observe these rituals! All the best to you for the new year, too.
@@CrosbyCollects No, you definitely won't be seeing the 'dance' on RUclips, Jake! I'll leave that to young lads like yourself who know how these things work. The field I was on at the time has given up loads of Roman finds, so when I saw that glint in the hole (you know exactly how that feels!) I was so hopeful it would be from the same era. But no, it was a lovely Victoria half sovereign. So in the end, a mix of elation and disappointment. But a gold coin is a gold coin. On to the next!
Congratulations on a great year with some amazing coin finds. In my opinion the smaller those coins got, the better they were! Them big hammereds looked like they been bashed around a bit, but the little ones are in amazing condition. But that Celtic stater is a dream find for me and high up on the bucketlist. I certainly didn't have finds like this in my 1st year, I didn't find any gold or any hammereds in my 1st year. Keep at it and good luck with your channel. A tip on editing, every time you did a cut when sat next to your fire, change the cropping. It looks a hundred times more professional. Its called a 'jump cut', look it up
@@TheDukesOfDerbyshire thanks Gareth! I completely agree, I guess bigger hammereds have a bigger target to be hit by the plough and more of a surface area for crustations in the ground to attach to? Thanks for the tips on editing, I’ll take a look into that. I would have liked to have used two different cameras in hindsight! Thanks for your comment as always mate! 👍🏽 All the best for 2025!
