For cleaning built up crud or that baked on brown layer on silver denari and hammered silver coins I use Lidls blue lime scale remover. 😀. Dab a bit on the area or even just put the whole coin in the liquid and leave it for 10 minutes then work at the crud with a wood stick. 🙂. This liquid works wonders and I have cleaned many a coin with it. 😍. P.s. Only use on gold and silver because it eats copper and brass from experience. 😆. HH. 🙂.
Wow, Mark! What an outstanding year you've had in the fields. I thought someone might have carved Roman numerals into the Augustus Denarius but I couldn't get LVCC to make sense. That is an outstanding Denarius! So many incredible coins and brooches it's hard to pick a favorite. Huge congrats and I hope you find more amazing things in 2025! ATB Greg
No, here in Holland it works differently from England. We have to report what we find in a database and we have to make it available for researchers. But we can keep it our selves. But if a museum Want anything from me for in their permanent collection than they can have it… 😅👍 So far I’ve given just but one thing to the museum. The museums already have almost everything in their depots. There is so much history here in the fields around the city where I live… 😎👍🍀
