A place where sports culture of the past can be visited, where in some small ways we can relive the times of our lives or experience the lives of another time.
A place where the past lives and never dies.
A place where the past lives and never dies.

Man... I am surprised I have never seen this movie...🫂👍🥰✌️... Now this is class, U.S.A TAKE NOTES!!!
As a kid, in your dreams, you never lost😮 Epic😅
Welcome back ladies and gentlemen, great to have you here. This is baseball 😅
If today’s baseball was still played like this, and if the games were broadcast like this, I would be a baseball fan.

The HOF IS GARBAGE WHEN TODD HELTON AND SCOTT ROLEN GET IN WHILE BILL BUCKNER AND STEVE GARVEY NEVER GET IN. GTFOH.
Looking at it from the Red Sox point of view u might think gosh how is that they win game 6 in such dramatic fashion but then not finish it in game 7...but what is probably less obvious to many is if u look at this from the Reds point of view . They had lost the 1970 World Series to Brooks Robinson and the Orioles and they also had lost the 1972 World Series to the Oakland As so the Reds were hungry and had been knocking on the door for awhile.so while they lost game 6 they were not about to just roll over in game 7 and they ultimately won game 7.
KingKong launched that ball to Milwaukee as Lou Boudreau said.
Too much passing!!
there was no shotclock
Caramba! Um filme desse e não tem dublado?
The Presentation is quite good for an early 70's game on Canadien TV.
13:28 - I can totally relate. I have the same problem as Fred Merkel. My boner has gotten me in trouble many times.
Good lord it’s amazing no one ever hit Steinbrenner…he was such an insufferable annoying prick back then lol.
I think you should change the thumbnail so that we don't know the score
"Philosophies and ideologies .." Pure Reggie-speak. TOTAL BS. In hindsight, $3 million looks like an absolute bargain, as much as I loathed Mister October/
Did Steinbrenner really beat that "youth of America" schtick to death as frequently as depicted in this mini-series?
Thanks for posting. Is anyone coaching these teams?
The interesting thing is that after this game, the Phillies were 24-10 and in 1st place, but the game ended up being a curse, as they would go on to lose 16 of their next 21 games. They would end up 84-78 on the year, Danny Ozark would get fired at the end of August after losing 8 out of 9, and the Phillies would hire Dallas Green, who would lead the Phillies to the WS championship the next year.
You're wrong, this is 1950! I think Russell was still in middle school or there about. Russell retired in 69 I think. Russell could definitely play in today's game. Alot of today's guys couldn't play in the 80's. Defense today is weaker. Your film is in the dark ages and a good HS team would be at them.
The murder of Stacy, even in fiction is still SAD To look at! 41:19.
Caitlin Clark inspired me to return to the great ball handling mastery of the Harlem Globe Trotters.
Great video
I read Mahler's book before the miniseries came out in 2007. The book spent more time on the 3 non-sports stories shown in the series - the Mayor primary and election, the blackout, and the Son of Sam manhunt. But because this was a series made by ESPN, it didn't surprise me. If C-Span had made the series, the election would have dominated. Had The Discovery Channel made the series, the blackout would have dominated. And had CourtTV made the series, the Son of Sam story would have dominated. All 4 story lines interested me a lot, so I was fine with ESPN's portrayal.
I couldn't help but notice a commonality among the people looting... 🤔
Jesus hates the Yankees.
3:12 legend!
15:00 some things don't change
Shhhhh.... (you aren't allowed to notice)
Such a classic game and a classic World Series!
Has there ever been a show in history that was so completely filled with unlikable jackholes? The most sympathetic character in the whole series was Berkowitz… 🤦🏻♂️
I was a 13 year old Cubs and National League fan living in NYC. Go Reds!
Was that shooter McGavin as the clipper?
A esos amateur Chamberlain le metia 100 puntos 😂😂
This is so good and im a mets fan
Had to leave a comment just to move it to 667. 🤷♂️
Well done.
Mets lost game 1 . Koosman pitched gem in game 2. I was at game 3 famous for Rose Harrelson fight. Rusty Staub 2 HR's won game .
Lot of players here choke up on the bat. Personally I found that to be less powerful. Is it the difference between a player legging them out vs power hitters?? Batting is about leverage.
Just adding a comment so i can leave comment #666
Between 16:44 to 25:07 I like how it goes consistently between the Detectives and Inspector pursuing Son of Sam with there turmoil over to the Yankees with the players, Management, & George himself there turmoil. The Inspector 14:09 and George 31:03 would work well together if in the same business

Unlike Big Ed Sabold…that Coy Bacon segment was one of my favorites. Im glad I found which Lost Treasures it was in. Thanks
I always wondered about the Steinbrenner scenes when he's on the phone, and then interrupted by someone. In this ep. he talks to someone named "Milt," who is idk. The scenes when he's talking on the phone are some of my favorites: Steinbrenner on the phone before the Miller Lite commercial? Forget it!
To use a game nearly 7 years before Bill Russell entered the league as an example of the competition he faced from 57 to 69 is dishonest. Just ignore Wilt, Thurmond, Bellamy, Reed, and the other great centers he played against. Plus, Russell played in a much faster paced era than this since this was pre shot clock.
The lack of a score bug is *REALLY* messing with my mind. 🙄🤦♂️😂🤷♂️😑
It’s a great look back at The Yankees and the tumultuous relationships going on in the organization at the time…but it’s also a great historical look-back at the time period itself, and the entire vibe of NYC during those years, with the layoffs of police, garbage strikes, crime, the economic distress, and the underlying but ever present fear and paranoia in NYC because of Son Of Sam… As a side note, the intro theme music is awesome!
Frank Robinson would have beaten the crap out of George. There is no way Steinbrenner ever would have had the courage to hire Robinson and abuse him the way he did Martin. I wonder, did BM ever consider using Reggie as permanent DH at the #4 spot, and platooning in RF? That would have satisfied GS but pissed him off at the same time.
Yankees fans? They booed Mickey Mantle for 10 years. They cheered Reggie Jackson from day 1. How does that work out?
