I loved the Globetrotters when I was a kid. They are coming to the arena I work for Sunday and I am so looking forward to seeing them.

What memories this brings back; as it rarely gets a TV airing. Around 1976; my freshman gym teacher showed this to the boys class. We all sat on the floor in an old equipment room.Class ended after the 1st 1/2. Unfortunately; we were supposed to watch the other 1/2 during next class & that never happened FSR.It’s a great; old school film.

Saw a documentary on the HG and they said when they played in Germany in the early 50s after the end of World War 2..they were nervous how the crowd would react..the whole stadium gave them a standing oviation..it was the most emotional experience they had ever experienced..I got goosebumps hearing the story

This movie is worth it for no other reason than to see just how good Goose Tatum was.

The later games became a super entertaining show. But these early games were real games that they could win or lose.

I saw this movie on TV as a child and loved it! Got to see them (not these players, but their current generation) as a young adult. *Goose Tatum* was my favorite player. The scene that has stayed with me all these years was at 17:50 when the reporter was talking to Goose and comparing hands!❣🏀

Saw Goose Tatum play my Dads team in the 60's.Harlem RD Kings vrs Conoco oilers. They only had 4 players show up so they had to recruit a player from the Oilers. Goose looked ill. It was sad actually. Goose didn't live much longer after that. He was very nice at the game but past his prime as a player

I grew up in the 80s, and I saw the Globetrotters a couple of times. It was all about the bufoonery: guys like Lou Dunbar talking to the audience and a lot of fights between the ref and the Globetrotters' funnyman. But this is something different: they were playing actual basketball, while doing all that circus stuff. That must have been amazing to watch.

In the 1950's most people still had radio's in the home. The biggest market to see anything was in the movie theatre's. So it's funny how they made it back than to be a movie instead of a live performance as its portrayed in the 60's and 70's on out.

This one is much better than the later, 1954 movie about the formation of of the team. Entitled "Go, Man, Go' its main interest is the use of Sidney Poitier in an early role and the many references to my home town, Kenosha, Wi, where Abe Saperstein meets and marries his future wife after seeing her in a beauty contest. There's a brief but welcome cameo by musician Slim Gaillard, but the court action takes a distant 2nd to the overacting of Dane Clark. It's this 1951 movie that stirred my interest in the Trotters for the rest of my life.

The Globetrotters beat the NBA Champion Lakers in an exhibition game in the late 40's at Chicago Stadium when Marques lobbed an ally upe toss into Sweetwater Clifton to dunk over George Mikan with a few seconds to go to beat the Lakers.
