One persons assumptions require all scientific knowledge and evidence to be dispensed with because a book >1,000 years old makes an outrageous claim. The other simply states their is no evidence, and no reason to believe such nonsense. Not all opposing claims have equal validity.

Science is in pursuit of truth, if something is assumed correctly, then you are not likely to need science, and if you need science you would be a terrible scientist if you assume.
Richard Dawkins is a biologist and not expected to know Theoretical Physics but still did a good job answering those questions.

You can only give what you have Humans have a sense of love, freewill (robots do not have free will), Justice (animals do not care about Justice, whereas human’s setup courts), feelings. A Being who has these attributes gave them (God).
100% of the time we get life from life. Therefore, Human life came from God.
We all have a built-in conscience (knowledge of right and wrong). It is universal that murder is wrong, lying is wrong, stealing is wrong. (Conscience is God given)

Well Richard dismissed the idea without having any proof. Let’s say you come to me and say my great great great great great great great grandfather used to play the piano very well. And i without knowing anything about your grandfather laugh at it. For a man like richard that believes in evidence this is not a good look.
@omariouz Dawkins never made a positive claim. He has no reason to believe that a prophet flew to heaven on a winged horse without evidence which is an extraordinary event . Your analogy of a grandfather who plays the piano is infinitely more believable than the claims about the supernatural.

The man had no claim, no knowledge of who prophet Muhamed is but he still has the arrogance to laugh about something he doesn't know happened; Millions of muslims belieave in it, does it mean they are inferior to him. He also has said that he hasn't read the Quran and he just assumes that our concept of god is that of Christianinty. All in all the man talks about a topic that he has little knowledge in. I have no problem if he talks about his own field but what agitates me is Ignorance and arrogance. You have to agree that if you want to have a strong claim about religion like he has. @omariouz You misunderstand me, there is not a shred of evidence Muhammad flew anywhere. Dawkins never made any claims he simply rejects the claim that Muhammad flew to heaven on a winged horse. If I claimed I saw a unicorn you will most certainly ask for evidence before you'd believe let alone entertain such a claim. It doesn't matter if the whole planet believes it which they don't in fact majority of the planet don't. There is as much evidence for Muhammad flying to heaven as there is for him ever speaking to Gabriel. It doesn't matter what the Quran says or doesn't say. You cannot prove the existence of a God let alone your God. In 13 years of preaching Muhammad failed to convince the iron age peasants in Mecca of his religon and his god, despite them being more scientifically ignorant and superstitious than we are today. He couldn't even convince his Uncle of his God and religon.
Before Islam or any religion, for that matter wants to make such bold claims it must present evidence to support it. This isn't a personal attack against Islam but it is criticism of all religons which deal with such supernatural and extraordinary claims. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. That which is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.
The aggressiveness of the reporter is a good sign how the simple fact of questioning a believe can ignite fear. I can see how difficult it can be to abandon things you were told from birth.

The anger in that believer's face is in itself proof of some of the things Dawkins is saying.
The issue at hand is sin and God’s nature of being just. Sin brings suffering (the pleasure is short term, and the suffering is long term-on earth and in hell forever). God brings Righteousness (may have short term suffering followed by long term pleasure- on earth and in Heaven).
If you love yourself repent of your sins (lying, hatred, unforgiveness, sexual sins, taking the Lord’s Name in vain, stealing, dishonouring your parents etc) & believe in Jesus for forgiveness of sins. (Jesus died on the Cross as a sacrifice and defeated death by rising from the dead)

Your religion isn’t about sinning, it’s about controlling believe. One goes to heaven when they believe in Jesus, and go to hell when they don’t. GOD DESIRES SACRIFICE.
When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, they were ashamed of their nakedness and tried to cover their shame by wearing fig leaves. However, God shed an animal and covered them with that instead. We by our own works try to gain God’s approval but God requires a Sacrifice for forgiveness of sins hence Jesus.

My understanding is they need to accept Jesus as their lord and savior. Someone can murder, have sex with their kids, steal, etc. - but as long as they repent and accept Jesus as their savior they are forgiven and accepted into heaven. if this isnt the case then i'm very confused. If i'm correct then you can see that its less about the acts of the individual, but the very savvy way of rewarding the control of the mind to get someone into heaven.

The Day of Judgment will be 50 000 years of our time (see 70:4). Hence, the six Days of creation refer to six eons of time, known only by Allah.

Most people have heard “Jesus/God loves you”. Does that mean they have a relationship with God and will go to heaven? Depends on the individual. A relationship is 2 sided, you receive love and you give love back.
God showed His love by suffering, dying on the cross and rising from the dead for you, now you show Love back by repenting of your sins (lying, stealing, sexual sins, taking the Lord’s Name in vain etc) and believing in Jesus as your Lord and saviour so that Heaven is in your future not hell.

People often say, “I’m not hurting anyone so it’s ok to sin (lying, stealing, sexual sins, disrespecting parents etc)” The same God who said to love your neighbour first said to love Him to the best of your ability. If you carry on sinning, then you do not love God but are selfish like the devil so you will be joined to your father in hell or repent of your sins and believe in Jesus as God so Jesus adopts you as His child and you will join Him in Heaven forever.

4- the idea of sins are silly. Now granted, there's obvious ones like unaliving and stealing being bad, which are concepts that predate the Bible and have popped up in societies all over the earth. Call it God writing on people's heart if you want, but that just shows we don't need the Bible. Also, planting mixed seeds, wearing mixed fabrics, eating shellfish are all sins... but slavery is not? Taking young girls for yourself after battle is condoned as well? And unaliving infants? (Samuel 15:3)

here is some differences between those who submit to their lusts and desires with those who submit to their creator is:-
1- most of lusts followers will always be hungry of getting high and going back in time with their mind fixing everything bad they have done to themselves,going back in time making up their mistakes dreaming of a better fancy life style with their short time even if they already have everything. while believers hearts, minds are high with faith, so they will keep asks their creator for forgiveness , and to guide them for what best he chooses for them ,and saving them of his wrath even if they have nothing.
2- lusts submitter's basic fear is not to feed their animal instincts best with their short youth time. while believers basic fear is from their creator,by fearing of not pleases their god , fearing disobeying god, asking for forgiveness always even if they did nothing and thanking for everything even if they have nothing of what others have...etc.
3- lusts submitter's will try to take everything with/without rights and control to keep updating their satisfaction not following any rule except the instinct of TO HAVE, while believers will thank their creator for anything he chooses for them, and they will be satisfied feeling that this is coming for their god.
The similarities:- is that they are already chooses their way and no one can or anything can convince them to change their way.
their are a 3rd kind of these , the blinded , those who still didn't decide where to go , or what to choose. they are stuck between this and that.
the good thing is that no human can know/tell what's in other human's have in mind and heart. this is a real privacy between the creation and their creator.

Why should God let you into Heaven?
Have you lied (even once in your entire life), looked with lust at the opposite sex, dishonoured parents, stolen anything, had hatred towards someone, had premarital sex, adultery etc If you answered yes to any one of the above then you are a sinner like the rest of us.
So, I ask you again, why should God let a sinner into Heaven?
Sinners don’t go to heaven they go to hell, But we are blessed to have Jesus (God incarnate) die on the Cross and rise from the dead. If you Repent (forsake your sinful, unholy ways and live righteous instead) & Believe in Jesus as God, you will be seen as a Saint and welcomed into Heaven.

The difference is that Dawkins goes by evidence. If God appeared tomorrow he would believe. No matter what evidence against God, Mehdi would never change his position.

Look ill share something personal. I’ve personally seen Jesus (Not worthy), Heaven and Hell. Hell is worse than what you think (I was shaking after that experience), and Heaven is better than what you think. I can go into details if you want. This is how God works. If you give Him the benefit of the doubt, He gives you more and more. Would I spend even 2 minutes preaching if I had an ounce of doubt? (I’ve experienced way too much)

The issue really is deeper than this though which is what Sam and others usually dont really talk about. On this basis alone it is true. However it only answers one side of the duality i.e logic and reason. On the other side is its opposite which is largely the area of study that Jung found himself in with dreams. We all understand that dreaming is a necessary thing to stop from becoming insane. However, if we all lived by nothing but logic and reason and stripped belief from our lives then it seems straight forward to me that emptiness is created where the dreams begin to diminish. Definitely act in logical ways that fit reality but do not repress the underlying emotion which explains the reason why you should act logical in the first place. The two are the same opposite. There is an issue when people say their dreams are real things but also if you dont have dreams how do you strive for anything in the first place? Its a loop that no one sees or takes time to understand. Harris has explained it before in vague terms as 'Spirituality' which is a poor catch all term for 'we do not know what this feeling is'. God has been changed to mean leader power etc but is this really true? When Dawkins explains that the evidence of the knowing your wife loves you is not the same as knowing god does I agree with this. However there is evidence which is similar to a degree that something exists which creates the dreams. What is this? What does it really mean when people say 'I believe in x'? What is this feeling of god or spirituality that everyone feels? Do we claim it be nothing but mental delusion and repress this? Or do we seriously attempt to not reduce it but to understand what it happening here without the certainty of religion?

In the past atheist believed that vermin just evolved from rubbish. They asserted it to be true. It was only later that atheist realised what science said that vermin thrive in rubbish but dont evolve in it. Now in the 21st century the atheist hijacked science just as religions have hijacked nationalism. Neither religion pundits nor atheists have a right to hijack anything. Firstly, looking for a created god is itself a false premise. I see this alot now and it really just ends with the furthest thing away from what is true. You cant really equate atheism with theism because they are opposites. Sin (lying, unforgiveness, sexual sins from lust, dishonouring parents, steeling, taking the Lord’s Name in vain etc) which leads to hell. But Jesus died on the Cross and rose from the dead to give you the ability to repent and Believe in Him as your Lord and Saviour to go to Heaven.

Livvy. That’s a straw man. Part of loving is trusting someone. I’m not saying that you should ignore all evidence but to suppose you need evidence for everything is absolutely absurd. When I hear Dawkins say that he needs evidence for everything, it seems as if he doesn’t really believe what he is saying, he just says it to sound rational. For example, do you believe I’m a human? I won’t give you evidence, so you won’t believe I’m a human. Do you have evidence that I have eyes? Why should you believe I have eyes?

The issue at hand is sin and God’s nature of being just. Sin brings suffering (the pleasure is short term, and the suffering is long term-on earth and in hell forever). God brings Righteousness (may have short term suffering followed by long term pleasure- on earth and in Heaven).

Most people have heard “Jesus/God loves you”. Does that mean they have a relationship with God and will go to heaven? Depends on the individual. A relationship is 2 sided, you receive love and you give love back.

Let us be clear that God can send the devil to the lake of fire now if He wants but He is choosing not to for certain reasons. Firstly, we sin of our own accord, the devil tempts us further but he cannot force someone to sin, see the devil as a tempter to do evil. Satan exists but he is on a long leash so to speak.
Long answer short God’s glory is more manifest in the presence of the devil. When someone struggles to let go of sin & the devil makes it even harder, finally when he person asks for Jesus to intervene he becomes set free and God’s power, patience ,love, grace is manifest more.

That is one of the many mysteries of science. But the evidence that there was something working beyond the laws of physics to bring about the universe. Since the laws of physics break down at the point of creation, whatever created the universe can't be every be empirically explained-Science.

It makes perfect sense because the entire atheist opinion on God is formulated using empiricism, which is the argument that knowledge/fact can only be stemmed from experimental science but rarely anything using experimental science can be proven to a degree of certainty therefore at very most an atheist could say it is very unlikely that the miracle occurred which in itself is a flawed conclusion since the original belief of religion and miracles is innate and metaphysical so cannot be proven or argued by worldly science anyway. In simple terms, it’s like trying to measure your height in kilograms.
Technically you can't prove that he didn't fly to heaven, but that's not how the burden of proof works. The inability to disprove something does not justify belief in it.
I could just as well say that fairies and leprechauns exist, since nobody can disprove it and the scientific method cannot evaluate the existence of such beings.
It's true that science probably can't answer certain questions, but that does not give anyone the right to say "Science cannot prove/disprove/evaluate certain things, therefore I can believe in [Insert irrational belief here]"
Arguments like those are arguments from ignorance: "We don't know/can never understand certain things, therefore [Insert irrational belief] is true."

On a more detailed note, I actually understand Richard Dawkins when he says he does not attribute or care whether or not good done in the name of religion was in fact due to religion itself, just as the opposite should also not be said, that the evil done in the name of religion was not in fact due to religion itself. He specifically points to faith as evil, that is faith in things that are not based on evidence, and that religion itself is neither evil nor good.

Same here. I used to be Muslim, but now am agnostic. One thing I can add about religion is that it dictates what you are not allowed to think and gives you ready "truth". That's why it is easily consumed because human mind tends to be lazy.

Dawkins certainly answered the questions. He may not have all the answers, but that's the thing with atheists: we are courageous to say that we do not know everything, but we and science will strive to answer that. And we will not purposefully settle for religion in all things. Just like Dawkins said, it will be very sad if we are all stuck to religion for all eternity and do not try to look for evidence.
Just like other religions of the past, the god of abraham will be a thing of the past as more people start to question and not blindly accept everything they're told when they're young.
