Hi Elmer, I also live in Sydney and I've been watching your video since early this year. I used to be a sprinkler fitter but it was physically too demanding job and I wanted to be a tester. Now I got a new job like a month ago in a fire company as a tester. Your videos helped a lot for me to grow in the knowledge in Fire Protection. Looking back, I think it would have been difficult to get my current job without your videos. Thanks for freely sharing your precious experience and knowledge to serve people and glorify God. You reminded me this verse in the Bible. Is this solenoid operated valve hlocated at the end of the sprinkler zone? I'm assuming it is similar to an Inspectors Test Valve in the U.S. If not, how do you know that water will flow through the piping? In the U.S., a jockey pump helps maintain enough pressure to keep the fire pump from starting. And, in the U.S., a waterflow switch does cause an Emergency Forces signal to be sent.

Ha. This brings back memories. When I was an apprentice I had to clean 100s of old smoke detectors my boss bought off ebay for an obsolete system. I used an airline, cotton ear buds and a microfibre with UPVC plastic window frame cleaner! Are these detectors also obsolete? They look old. Otherwise it would be good practice just to replace them with new ones? Great video. Thanks from England UK.
