@@Nathan.g3106 Because newer EWS systems don't require the Alert tone to start first. Quite annoying since it helped you prepare for a very loud noise rather than the evac tone coming out of nowhere
Very Informative Videos Thank You Sir Elmer Sana one day makarating din ako dyan as a fire alarm technician working ako ngayon sa Qatar 5 years and on going God Bless Sir
Thanks Elmer, don't know anything about fire panels can you have a fire panel without an ASE. (My understanding of an ASE is that its an interface between a fire panel and monitoring service linked by a mobile telephone service ? Can you just have an ASE coupled to a fire sprinkler system without a fire panel?
Not all fire panel have ASE and it's allowed as "Local System". Sprinkler pressure switch can be activated in an ASE without the need of a fire panel. Once the area's local telephone system is converted to broadband / fiber optic, the fire monitoring company will provide 2 GSM antenna for Primary and Secondary comms line. Before, Primary is telephone line and secondary is the antennae.
Hi Mate, unfortunately I don't have site with VESDA at present. Testing Vesda is easy. From the most disadvantegeous hole, smoke it and time the vesda activation. For maintenance, it's all about the environment or place it was installed. I normally used compressed air from starting pipe ( remove it from vesda) and blow air inside the pipe for 5 minutes or until you attain the desire air flow. Good Luck. I used to prgram a lot of Vesdas and maintain vesda in Laundry Building which was a nightmare.
Hi got a question for you I think it says in the heat alarm installation rules dont install less that 4 inches from the ceiling do youthink if it is about an inch or 2 in dead air space it could still work? any ideas?
The new Australian Standard for evacuation system was followed. It's an emergency warning system (EWS) and not Emergency Warning Intercommunication System (EWIS)
Thanks for explaining why the Alert tone didn’t start ❤❤
Why didnt it start?

Then what's the point of having the alert tones in the ews

I wonder how to tell the difference between EWIS and EWS? is it checking if the building has WIP phone? (having WIP phone is EWIS)
"I" means Intercommunication. That's the WIP - Warden Intercommunication Phone. EWS is Emergency Warning System.
Hi Elmer, Do you have any videos on testing/maintaining a VESDA system?

Our minimum is 300mm from wall.
Hello. Can I ask why did it go stright to the evacuation tone?

What do you do with old panels when you rip them out?
Either I kept them for training purposes or give it to Mr John Carlino in Dee Why. If it's really old, it's rubbish.
Batteries load test buddy?
Battery load test is done annually now. The system do auto battery test every Monday 9"00am-9:30am. Cheers
