Reina is amazing, Toni adds some fab music !

Elle is a genius for whom my jaw drops in admiring awe. Her insight into every corner of current life and the universe brings to mind the great polymaths of history, Goethe, Athanasius Kirchner, Aristotle, etc., although still in a formative stage. While all of her work that I have seen (mainly RUclips shorts) makes me smile and laugh and dash off recommendations to other, some of it (I'm thinking of the dependency plea of the Earth to the Moon in particular) leaves me floored by its symphony of knowledge, insight, and creativity. Elle is a national treasure.

I have been following Elle and Toni for five years or so, they are amazing artists. I was lucky enough to see them perform live about two years ago, great show!

I enjoy her shorts that she does, but I really miss the music. She and Toni do not do the Sunday Mornings with Reina del Cid. I so wish they would go back to the covers and original songs. I believe that is her strongest talent. She and Toni are both amazing.

Elle is one of the cleverest lyricists around - her literary background has served her well in that regard. And as for Toni - quite simply and excellent multi-instrumentalist, with particular emphasis on her guitar work.

RUclips gets stupid with the copyright stuff

Funny how the Minnesota in her changed “papa said ‘Oy if I get that boy’” to the more goyum “papa said ‘Oh if I get that boy’”. It takes out the rhyme couplet and the Yiddish implication which I miss but maybe it was done as to avoid cultural appropriation or perhaps it was just her own natural phrasing. Who’s to say… not a criticism but something I noticed and did miss from the original.

I was supposed to see them in July but fell ill and couldn't go. Just bought tickets for their Cologne show on 2025-10-26.

This is exceptionally bland and simple-minded puffery. No examination of the disastrous re-naming/re-branding. I am eager for the next album (one must be due soon?) but don't have the faintest idea under what name it will be! Other bands keep going under old names despite a complete change of personnel. It seems that "Elle" (a name which came as a complete surprise) wishes to carry on as before, but under a different name (whatever that is!) I'm not a fan of slavish adherence to convention, but there are good reasons why this sort of idiocy isn't a good idea.

See the By Gones. They are fantastic.

Elle is the GOAT! (Toni too!)

I am one of the "newer" fans, and I never want miss Elle (and Toni) again. Musically, I can imagine that they are really afraid the new album will not be good enough especially compared to "Candy Apple Red" and "The Cooling". Producing such brilliant songs cannot be planned. The only thing I would like them to do is, to communicate honestly to us as fans. I think we all would understand, if it takes longer than expected or even if the time is not yet right. Love both for all they did so far 🙏😎💛🧡❤💜💙💚

i have been a fan of Elle's since 2017 and i have been to see her play live about 6 times now . the first time i saw her live was oct 2018 .

Rachelle, Toni, Josh, Carson, Allison, Mary, and associates who routinely play and sing together are a bunch of young (well, youngish now) RUclips songsters that are well worth watching.

Elle is a genius! I love everything she does! Toni is a tremendous musician as well. I love when they team up with their friends. It's always worth the listen!

Fan? Yes!! Insights? No ☹ You put it in a nutshell: We do not know where she is heading. As other commenters here have already pointed out, the more music oriented part of her fans have been facing a drought recently. I love her shorts, but miss her music.

I admire all Josh and friends for their choice in musical direction...never seeking celebrity and fame...true to their musical talent.

I have watched and loved literally everything Elle has done; unlimited praise and appreciation for her genius. However, I think a loyal fan has a responsibility to point out faults as well as strengths. I came to Elle because of her work with Toni. Together, they created songs that were relevant and perfect. I fee that Elle and Toni have abandoned the loyal fans who have been with them for their original songs, from the beginning (Library Girl) through their latest (The Garden), which was almost a year ago. Other than you, Fortivo Music, I have not been able to find any information on why they have abandoned their special art form. It appears that at least Elle has abandoned her most gifted talent in favor of whimsical intelligent diversions. Please ask them to return to their original songwriting. With love.

Great update. Elle is incredibly talented and her shorts are clever and funny. Hopefully her and Toni will get back to making music.

She's really gone quiet on the music front. There was talk of recording a new album, but not even any information on Patreon. Her audience has increased by her spoken word shorts, but the music seems to be on pause. They had a Halloween stream tradition for 3 or 4 years, but even that wasn't done this year.

Been following Josh for years. He's a truly great musician and I hugely enjoyed his cover versions which were often better than the originals as well as his original music with the Other Favorites. But I cannot relate at all to the music he's doing with Alison Young as the Bygones duo. Alison has a beautiful voice, but her music is so, well, bygone, bathing in nostalgia. I'm glad for Josh to enjoy the commercial success the Bygones seem to have, but I hope it doesn't keep him from pursuing other musical paths.

So glad you are championing this incredibly talented and refreshing musician! Thank you! I can't wait to see The Bygones here in a month!!

Josh is just so amazing. He just doesn't stop. One awesome thing after another. An incredible musician.

Huge fan of Elle and Toni and loved your spotlight video on them. Which brought me to these tremendous musicians. So FRESH to see some of my old favorite classics performed so clesely to the way the artists originally released them. Getting HD quality to some old anthems is fantastic. Thanks Guillermo. The Bygones are playing my town in three weeks - can't wait! The last time Josh came through he sold out before I pulled the trigger - didn't hesitate this time.

Saw The Bygones three weeks ago in Cologne at a small, intimate venue. A delightfull evening for sure; just their voices and guitars. I had planned to buy their album on CD as I already have it digital on Bandcamp, but they were already sold out on the previous European gigs. It is not just that both are fine musicians. They obviously enjoy being on stage together and blend seamlessly, especially when their vocals harmonize. What a treat! Thanks for pointing me towards the recent collab with Carson; I had somehow missed that. Good to hear the are still working together, as The Other Favourites are a fine duo in their own right. Saw them live together two years ago together with Reina del Cid and spent an evening filled with glorious handmade music. Cheers!

At first glance, this sounded abit too much like buisness school for me. But then, that's what this series is supposed to be: A business school for musicians. And to my understanding you'll be more specific towards being an indie musician as the series progresses. I'll stay tuned.
