In Lobuche and Gorakshep the number accommodations is very limited. I saw people sleeping in restaurant in Lobuche. But all the other villages along the way have plenty of places to stay and there are so many new building being built. We did not prebook anywhere and had no problems. My advice is to start hiking at early morning and reach your destination before 2 pm and you won’t have any problems. Even if you can’t find a place at 2 pm, in 3 hours you can walk to the next village for sure before the sun sets.

Also one more question, would you say sleeping bag is essential? Thanks!

@HollyWoodroffe-l9v Not really. There are blankets in every hotel now. But again in Lobuche and Gorakshep you might need a sleeping bag to sleep in a restaurant (if you have to) or you might not like the hygiene of the blanket you get from the hotel. So, I don’t know that one. Sleeping bag is not really essential and it is heavy to carry it but it might be a lifesaver when the time comes.

I don’t have any up to date info. When we went there it was actually officially not allowed to hike without a guide according to the announcement of the government. But in practice, we were able to do it alone. Nobody said anything.

Hey, it’s been long time since I made this video, I had to think a bit to remember 😅 I think you need at least 2-3 hours for that whole cable car tour we had. We changed 3 cable cars, the distances were really long and at each stop we spent some time. If you don’t take all the cable cars, you can discover some parts of the mountains in 1 hour maybe 👍🏼

There are very beautiful treks in north east of Turkiye but not along the coastline. North east treks are more like valleys and epic plateaus between Rize and Artvin. Ayder plateau is the famous one. You should consider the climate difference between north and south of Turkiye which is significant. The season for north east treks is summer.

It really is! I wasn’t in a good mood to enjoy the waterfall at the time because I crashed my drone there, but now it looks even funny 😅

It takes half a day (from early morning to noon) and price was 1 million IDR. Definitely negotiate, they will try to double or even triple price you. Also definitely see the boat. They can charge you extra because “they have a very nice boat” but in the end they can bring a crappy boat. We stayed in a hotel in Bangsal and arranged the tour from the reception. The boats are on the left side of the big ferry port. You can go there to talk to them first person
