Thank you for the beautiful video of the LW. I greatly enjoyed your gentle humour and indomitable spirit. Like you, the strap on my rather expensive backpack broke while recently walking the Via de la Plata.
There are very beautiful treks in north east of Turkiye but not along the coastline. North east treks are more like valleys and epic plateaus between Rize and Artvin. Ayder plateau is the famous one. You should consider the climate difference between north and south of Turkiye which is significant. The season for north east treks is summer.
I stayed in Kabak twice in 2022, and that's where I learned about the Lycian Way. Ever since then I've been dreaming of walking the entire route! I would like to do it in April as well - I just love the misty and wet weather among the cliffs.
You should definitely do it! The view gets better and better every day as you walk along the trek 🏞️ Second half of April would be the best time to start. Not too hot, not tool cold, just a bit rainy from time to time 😅
We were there at the end of the april. End of the march can be riskier. I think the weather temperature should be okay for hiking but it can be rainy and stormy. If you haven’t bought any tickets yet it’s always a good idea to check the weather conditions before going. Check the windspeed as well especially if you are planning to set up a tent ✌🏼
Thank you for taking us with you! is it allowed to pitch up your tent everywhere along the way - or is it possible to go to Lycian way with a tent only (low budget) ?
You can bring your own tent and set it up anywhere along the trek. There are really nice spots with scenic view that you can wild camp for free just watch out if it’s someone’s private property or not. It is a long trek to stay in the wilderness all the time. You will need shower or electricity eventually. There are also campsites that you can set up your own tent and use their toilets, shower and electricity. When you are wild camping there might be some shepherds who want to try his luck by asking money from you for your tent. You must judge the situation and tell if the guy is lying to you or not 😅 if there are no walls or anything probably the guy is lying and he is a scammer (it happened to us) so you can tell him to bugger off 😅
For sure it is but we couldn’t find it 😅 There is a town near the starting point of the hike that you can look for things. Keep in mind that on weekends everywhere is closed. So, definitely don’t look for gas canister screw on sunday 😅
It was an epic journey! The hike was paid off with the amazing view along the way. Which part is your favorite?
How beautiful!!!! 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
It is so hard to make a video of something spectacular. These places were 103748 times better then I can show...

Glad you enjoyed it! 😊 I actually took a big risk and gave the bag to a repair and hiked to Everest Base Camp with it 😅😅 Luckily I had no issues 😅
Thank you for posting this, I may walk part of it one day. Are there similar walks along the Black Sea coast?
