there are many beautiful places than Bali in Indonesia. But Bali is special, because you rarely find the place with many things to offer like Bali did. Plus the people, the accommodations, the food, the community etc fit with any kind of traveler from backpacker to ultra rich. You just choose what you want.
If Lombok better or maybe another options for Travelling other than Bali, it will breaking common perceptions because many people won't come to Lombok because of the Religions.. Hopefully more and more people will come to Lombok so Indonesian Tourism don't stuck in Bali Hope Foreigners will spread to other Island other than Bali... Like Lombok, Labuan Bajo, Manado, etc
There are a lot of people going to Bali for Yoga retreats or for spiritual reasons. Other Indonesian islands can not compete with this for sure. Lombok is a beautiful island. If government acts smart, Lombok can find other ways of attracting tourism. Moto Gp is a good one but it is only for one week maximum

Everywhere was nice then but until it comes more popular It looks ordinary. Bali was very beautiful back to 70's but look now over crowd. Lombok Will look the same like Bali in the future
Unfortunately Indonesia overall has a garbage management issue and I see Indonesians throwing away their garbage literally everywhere. Oceans, forests, ferries… Last year I took a ferry from Bali to Java. The ocean was full of garbage
My heart still belongs to Bali but Lombok has incredibly beautiful beaches 🏖️ What do you think?

What other places do you absolutely recommend?
I have been to both Lombok and Bali, but in my opinion I did prefer Lombok. Bali used to be good a long time ago but far too touristy now
I agree that Bali is overcrowded and too touristy and expensive but I think I still enjoy the services and the life that Bali offers unfortunately…
