I’m 70 years old and was in Phuket last November… nice experience although very touristy….I will be in Thailand this November and plan to visit Krabi this time around……I think I’m a little too old for rock climbing, but the beaches, street food and a little night life and drinking should keep me satisfied….😊
I think over-tourism ruined everywhere in the world. I’m trying skip the crowds by going everywhere off-season or waking up at 5 am 😅 I hope I will be traveling on my 70s aswell! Good luck to you and wish you a good vacation already! 🙏🏼🇹🇭
Completely agree with you on your assessment. I do totally prefer Krabi over Phuket. I didn't like Phuket much even though there are some nice places there. I've been to Krabi (staying in Ao Nang) twice and loved it both times - it has a more relaxing vibe. And I agree that it is quicker to get to Phi Phi Islands (Maya Bay) from Krabi than from Phuket and you are right that it is a bit cheaper. But Phi Phi Islands is in Krabi Province anyway. You can do the James Bond Island tour from Krabi too but yes I agree that it is too congested and touristy.
Depends on what type of person you are. Phuket is really touristy. Mexico - Cancún type of touristy. Nightlife, loud music, crowd, theme parks, tourists coming with tour buses… But mostly full of families. Most beautiful beaches are in Phuket if you are a beach bum. Kata Noi is especially very beautiful and a bit away from nightlife but still crowded. Krabi is more laid back tropical vacation place. Still touristy but different type. Backpackers place a bit but there are families enjoying Krabi as well. If you wanna get away from crowd and stay in more of a hidden hippie place go to Railey. I don’t know you personally so I can’t pick a place for you 😅
Thanks. We went to thailand travelling way back in 2004, missed the tsunami by 24 hours . Great memories but mainly in koh lanta, phagnan and samui… krabi may be better for a more chilled experience. Its basically a birthday treat , hotel on beach and not do much holiday thing….
@@crclarke5251 Wow, missing the tsunami by 24 hours is… I don’t know what to say about it. I would sit on couch and think about life by watching the wall for long time 😅 I’d prefer Krabi too 👍🏼
Yeh I think krabi too☺️. We were a little lucky, other folk we met prob werent. Its always a country we would love to return to. The people were amazing there. Great video btw, concise and full of useful info. Have a great new year
I was in Krabi about 3 weeks ago. I enjoyed it very much. Stayed at the Fiore resort. Took a tuk tuk to the main strip. They had a very nice night market. Krabi is more laid back imo.
Great video. I’m planning a honeymoon and we’ll have 7-8 nights to spend at either Phuket, Krabi or both. I wanted to know your opinion. I know you liked Krabi better but would that amount of time be enough for both? Or would you just pick one. Thankyou!
To travel both of the places you would spend one day on the road which would be a waste of precious time. I would prefer staying in Ao Nang and maybe stay 1-2 nights in Phi Phi and go Maya Bay
Aaah though question 😅 Better to have at least $40 minimum per day for budget hotel + bike and food. Activities can vary a lot. You may want to rent a private boat who knows) but activities usually can double up your daily budget easily
Hi. I will be in Thailand this November. I was looking to go to Phi Phi Islands from Phuket but now may go from Ao Nang. I will be in Railey Beach for 3 days. I'll look up to see if I can go to Phi Phi Islands from there. Thank you for your video!
Yea definitely take a boat from Ao Nang to Phi Phi. They may stop at Railey to take passengers aswell but I’m not sure. Railey is the best place in that region. Enjoy your trip! ✌🏼
@@brothersman524 thank you. It can be overwhelming to plan all of this and not really understand how to get around from place to place or what things should cost. I am traveling with my parents. I assume there are people selling excursions in Railey to Phi Phi. I will plan to go from there. Thank you!!
@@irmafranke1012 There are travel kiosks in Railey selling tours to Phi Phi, Hong Islands and 4-Islands Tour. I went from Ao Nang both times but they do stop at Railey (West Railey rather than Phra Nang) to collect passengers from there to go to Phi Phi Islands and it is quicker
@@brothersman524 Thank you so much! I will do it like that! I am so excited to go. I havent really done much all pandemic and desperately need a vacation. I will be there with my parents and paying for this as an anniversary gift to them. Im really hoping they love it as much as I know I will. Thanks again. Greetings from Los Angeles!
Diriving licenses are valid in the country that you got the license, they are not international. Most countries accept many licenses only for 1 month or so for tourism. If Thailand requests international driving permit from you (depending on your nationality) you should get it. It is a temporary document only valid for 1-2 years. There are so many online websites that you can get the permit but I don’t want to vouch for any of them because the police did not check my permit and approved it. Just Google it, you will get many results ✌🏼
Expect to be in Krabi in a few months, to chill out after crossing Thailand on motorbike. The view from Dragon crest mountain does look something to behold. The wonders of planning trips using google earth compared to my backpacking days through Asia 30 odd years ago ...makes a big difference :)
Yea I cant stop thinking how people were traveling before Google Maps 😅 I cant even find my hotel room without it 😅😅😅 Look like you made the impossible ✌🏼
Make sure to drop by The Beach in Hua Hin next time you are in town. The Beach in Hua Hin is the only Bar in Thailand that you can actually meet and talk with International Professional Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger Models that are visiting Thailand.
thank you brother! I will be in Krabi 4 days and a half and then in phuket 5 days but I guess the trips to the islands is ok from both sides ,like if I want to go to phi phi islands I can go from both
Great Review! I love being outside more than anything. I am 65, just retired and traveling with my daughter. Is there anything in Phuket that I'd regret not seeing as I will never be in Thailand again? I'm now thinking of changing my plan and going to Krabi instead. I hate "touristy" places really. but I don't want to miss something crucial. lol
Sunday Market in old town was my favorite experience in Phuket and I really enjoyed Thai street food there. It was the best thai street food experience for me. Maybe that one would be a "miss" 🤔
As I understand motorcycle endorsement is a US thing. My licence is in EU standart (I have both car licence and motorcycle licence) but I can say that you need a motorcycle licence or whatever is equivalent in your home country + international permit
Thank you for watching! If you want to see more comparisons like this let me know here ✌🏼

Which is better for a relaxing family beach holiday ( 2 adults and 11 year old)? Planning for december 2024

Does krabi have parasailing ??
