I have just returned from Thailand .Im now in Australia.I spent a week in Koh Samui. I did not go to Phuket as i have heard its so busy and too touristy.I normally go to Indonesia for my holidays.Koh Samui was so lovely and Thai people are just so respectful.Thai people are such a pleasure to be around .I stayed at Mae Nam right on the beach.It was so beautiful.Definitely recommend Koh Samui for a lovely holiday

Really good subject, Chai, Phuket vs Samui. I get that question a lot but have the closest I've made it to Phuket is Koh Lipe, so I'm not qualified to answer. But I do like Samui and Koh Phangan from a couple visits, more Koh Phangan. As the one girl said, very "hippy" in a good way. Great pop ups of the island with the pins to show locations. Stay champ!

Glad to hear Samui is the winner. My wife and I returned from there in Sept. it was our 4th trip. We have loved Koh Samui ever since our first trip back in 2016, never been to other places in Thailand and keep meaning to travel to Phuket but we prefer the quieter scene, we've been told that Phuket is too busy/loud and too big so we find ourselves always returning back to Koh Samui and maybe next time Phuket lol...but we are going back to Samui in 2025 and will make it a longer trip. Great video! Samui is still my favorite place of Thailand, but it has changed a bit in the last years. I had experienced Phuket once 10 years ago, so I think it is time to make a new comparation. I will be on Phuket in January 2025 again since a long time and not on Samui. I’m keen to see how the island life has maybe changed.
I love Phuket and will be there for a week next month, then 2 weeks in Samui for the first time so I will come back and comment on my favorite after the trip. So looking forward to flying into Samui for the first time. 😀

Im actually in Phuket, we fly to koh samui tomorrow. And for me koh samui is a chill Island, but can be very boring for young ppl. Phuket has everything, good bars/clubs/food but there is a lot of noise and full of tourists especially in Patong but if you go away from the tourist area its chill to. So I prefer phuket way more then koh samui.

Both are great. Koh Samui is way smaller and more relaxed. Phuket is much bigger and has way more going on. It just depends what you want. If you want to party hard.... Phuket!

Spent heaps of time in phuket , a week at samui , Two different places. Samui was boring to me. Yes patong is busy but it has a heart beat. Beaches are average now, not world class. Water's to dirty to dive , waterfalls only good thing. Patong you can do whatever whenever. And it doesn't get the island storms daily. Every day it rained at 2pm-5pm very heavy samui . And the taxi rip off prices , The island is so spread out for what it is.
