I would like to suggest to: This is a set of suggestion that I feel if added together would increase teamplay: -make the medical system harsher -create separate ammo dumps for ammo -remove convienent easy spawns I feel it would incentivize teamplay by increasing dependencies of players on each other without forcing it like games like Squad do.

    Do you know if your character also respects the preset while in raid or is that information lost there? does he just reload with one type of ammo? I've been considering running an MP-153 with alternating slugs and express buckshot and see how that plays out...

    I would like some more standard loadouts, like grenadier, machine gunner, sapper, and marksman. Not having an arsenal at a newly captured location and having to spawn at the first base has been a loop

    actually supression system won't fix anything at all, player behavior is conditioned on the fact that his life in game doesn't cost much to him. Even one life TvT event can't rule that out completely and reckless behavior is amplified as result.

    It definitely needs something. I like the flinch because it stops accurate return fire, but until it lasts for a while longer, players will just wait the second and shoot again. If it messed with sight alignment for a while, enough to make staying exposed not worth it, that would be ideal. Also, volume of fire and caliber should have increasing effects. One man shouldn't disarm a fireteam just because he fired his carbine first.

    Suppression systems are a weird balance. If they are not punishing enough you just end up with call of duty gameplay, meanwhile if they are too punishing you end up with "Whoever shoots first wins" gameplay. Personally I feel the correct balance is... - Suppression should be heavily context based, we have the engines to handle that now. It should scale with casaulties. If someone is firing at you, but it isn't effective fire, you are trained to keep moving. On the other hand, a sniper's shot scraping your helmet should give lots of suppression, even though its just one person. Snipers famously held up whole platoons in Normandy during WW2, despite only being one or two people. - Punishing and realistic recoil systems, nobody should be suppression machines where they just stand up and unload mags and survive due to supression making it impossible to aim on the recieving end. Bad systems that allow this make urban combat impossible, when in reality if you are aiming at a door and someone comes in blasting, you don't flinch like mad and can't aim (Looking at you Red Orchestra and Rising Storm 2 Vietnam) - A suppression mitigation system. A "Dive" mechanic so you can throw yourself into cover, as well as suppression reduction if you are nearby to squadmates. - A suppression "Break" mechanic, where a leader or perhaps an individual can issue a buff to remove and then reduce all suppression for a short period of time. People don't win medals by cowering in the mud whilst they get shot, you also can't do real fire and manuovre do if you don't get yourself up and start breaking for cover whilst other people cover you.

    Personally, not having a suppression system beyond sound design is something I much prefer. If you have the drop on the enemy, and you fail to take them out of the fight, dangerous return fire or death ought to be your punishment. If you're holding down a position, or moving to a new position, you come under fire and fail to react accordingly, death iought ought to be your punishment. A good volume of incoming fire, I find, will make most players react as they should, backing off of windows, dropping to the ground in defalades, or finding concealment. If you're enough of a crack shot to whip around and take out the incoming threat before they land shots on you, you should be rewarded for that skill.

      I mostly agree, i do believe that there should also be a small and or under heavy fire a visual distortion, but no further magical accuracy decrease. I think LM suppression mod does it well, especially, like it is in Band of Beardos server where the effects are dependant of player rank.

      I have a similar experience. Suppression in Arma Reforger is a naturally occurring phenomenon. Someone who doesn't want to walk 30 miles again usually goes for cover when they're getting shot at. If they're not afraid, they will die.

    The only problem I had with RO2 style suppression is that with no screen obscuring I could clearly identify the muzzle flash, wait for suppression to end and then instantly click the head. My opinion is that there should be a small accuracy penalty very shortly after suppression, to prevent such accurate return fire.

    It's incredibly annoying in Rising Storm 2 when you are suppressed by an MG and your character is literally twitching out so bad you can't even aim within 5 meters

    My favourite suppression system is in Darkest Hour: Europe ‘44-‘45 (RO 1 mod). Depending on your settings your view either blurs or flashes black when a round goes past, and a terrifying crack sound occurs. The aim flinches more than RO2, but it’s bearable if it’s only a bolt-action rifleman. An MG firing right at you will make it completely impossible to return fire, as long as it keeps shooting and hitting close.

      As a heavily biased Darkest Hour developer, I came here to say exactly this, lol. No game has ever had a better suppression system. It's very effective without being irritating like many games. Under the surface, there's even a "suppress-o-meter" (actual name TM), which means the longer you've been suppressed, the less intense the effect becomes. Of course, if you're getting absolutely pounded by MGs, nothing will save you, but if it's a single rifleman plinking at you, the "shock" starts to wears off and you become less affected until someone else starts shooting you, or a brief period of time passes without being suppressed. Also, to note, the big difference between Darkest Hour and RO2 is that the aim flinch isn't this weird shaking/wiggly motion that kind of lingers on like you see in the RO2 clip. Instead, in Darkest Hour it's a single big flinch when a shot cracks by. It's pretty much exactly how you react in reality if you get suddenly frightened by something, which makes it both more impactful (imo) and more immersive.

    the already ingame damage flinch could be extended to knock off your aim if your getting suppressed at. kinda works already if your out of cover and get hit by the lower damage ricochets of bullets

    Only valid thing Squad players might have is the controls and inventory system, particularly my dad, he hates anything less than very streamlined and simple inventory and UI. I don't mind, but migrating from Squad, it might tick some players off that you have to got to an arsenal, manage your loadout piece by piece to be anything but basic rifleman, and remember after to separately select "Save Loadout" or you go back to generic rifleman after you respawn. Plus third person being enable by default in PVP really pisses me off, same issue I had with Dayz. Magically seeing around corners is gay. Other than, lack of map diversity is the only other flaw (I'm only comparing unmodded versions of each game). I think Arma is superior everywhere else, particularly impressive that it simultaneously has better graphics, larger scale, AND better performance.

    The increased grass render distance would be super nice especially if it were to apply to the wheat fields as well. Even from only a few hundred meters out, the wheat fields appear to very short and players stick out easily. It would be better if players could use the wheat as concealment instead of having to avoid walking through open wheat fields.

    I believe you were on our server (EXD) playing Northern Everon. We like this scenario as its better suited for less players to enjoy, while also offering a small challange in that it requires a command truck to allow attacking of the enemy points. Also as you have mentioned, it makes Montignac a great choke point where mobile defenses are often built and the church used as a vantage point. Hope to see you on again.

    arma reforger is amazing, and if amra 4 comes to consoles as well i think this game will be up with top 10 most played games on consoles. i can’t wait for the grind and lav-25 to come out butttt lav-25 will be way over powered so i say add the BMD-2 and then M113 to go against BTR 😂

    I think this game is heading to a "dev says no" place. It has already been released. Yet game changing features are being added that make your designs completelly useless. You already fight 1v3 in most battles, now every update nerfs you. Made yourself a pretty maneuverable ship? Dev says no! Here's a thruster nerf! Gurl efficiency is the same btw! Got a solid combo of weapons? Dev says no! Now they block eachoter! Had your trusty designs with you? Dev says no! They're now useless!
