Great video,i dont think the noobs will be bothered but as a seasoned arma player and outdoorsman im gratefull for an explanation of the in game tools. Thank you kindly good sir.
@@schweinehund3497 you should do it, great skill to have. My father was in the special forces and went through a land navigation school in the army, he took us out in the forest as kids and taught us how to find our way out using only a compass and map. It's quite a bit harder without landmarks.
@@callaway86 I used to be a national park ranger and do a lot of guided hikes and hiked a lot in my free time. I still got lost and it added to the fun. The caveat being that in central europe you don't usually really get yourself into any real danger when you're lost. I have been dreaming about exploring truly vast wilderness in the US or Russia for years. Skills like these would actually be necessary there! I also believe that relying too much on comfort tools sabotages your natural sense for navigation. On several vacations I made it a point to only use paper maps at the beginning and then to navigate by memory. It's lots of fun! But sometimes I can't be arsed either and just use the GPS...
I’ve got 16 days and 22 hours on Arma Reforger and I never learned how to use the protractor because every time someone tried to explain in game I couldn’t follow. This video was perfect and made it extremely easy to learn. Thank you
I think it will be fun to watch a mortar team getting all hectic with one guy trying to aim the next guy trying to read the map and determine positions.

😅 very good video, to the point and no fuzz- best explaining ever
You don't need the measurement tool to find your location. You can activate the compass on your map screen, then it lies on your map the way you looked through the last time. So, you can do the following steps: 1. Look at your target POI with your compass. 2. Open your map (activate compass if it isn't) 3. Move your compass to the specific location. 4. Draw a line through the compass. 5. Repeat from step 1 for a second POI. Another advantage that has is that you don't need to calculate +-180°, because you just draw the line through the compass on your map. This can save you a lot of time in the long run.
@@caracal3892 I question a lot of the decisions they made, particularly in the conflict mode. Abundance of car/equipment spawns, abundance of spawn locations, abundance of available capture points, to the point where nothing matters. You wanna capture a base? Even if you sweeped it right people can still spawn in right infront of you, full kit, and kill you. Map markers and navigation? Not needed. Map is ultra crisp and easy to see and use, no brain required. Shooting? Just point and click, no setup required, even tho theres resting its useless. Supply system doesnt matter after the first few minutes. Medical system? Useless. You never get the chance to fix your bleeds/problems as you bleed way too fast, and its nigh impossible to heal friendlies due to the clunkiness of the system. Its just a lot of little things that just dont make sense. Its a great game with great mechanics, but at the same time its a clusterfuck that negates its own systems.

so based... you explain it a lot better than youtube channels purely focused on land navigation. makes me wanna take a compass and map into the hills.

Good job student, you completed the master of arma reforger.

Love your videos brother, I try to tell people to check your channel out when I can 💪🏼💪🏼
Very helpful.
The video is really great. Can you tell me how many meters 1 cm is on the map?
If you zoom in, one black square is 100x100 meters.
Does anyone know how to rotate the protractor on PC?
It used to work but I cant seem to get it to work now
459 views. Ah yes. Because who the hell needs to know all that? Just press M and look at your marker! Easy!!!!
.....i fuckin hate modern gaming.
Why did the devs even add squad markers, I think it waters down the compass and map gameplay which they wanted to have at first

@@caracal3892 did they recently add the squad leader markers? Agreed, it removes alot of the fun.
