Yes, our home of 20+ years was a remodeled church parish house. Our elderly neighbors told us they had been one of many couples married there and that many funerals took place there too. Many supernatural events took place while we lived there. 5 years ago we moved from this house and are thrilled to report there is no further activity in our new home.

Not quite an Old Hag story but in the same realm I think. I’d just moved into a flat with my spouse. It was a large house that had been broken into separate units on the first and second floor. As such there were some weird architectural changes. What passed for a closet in our bedroom was barely 4 ft wide, but 7-8 ft deep and had a window with no curtain facing the street. At night it let street light in but wasn’t annoying enough to cover it and no one could see into our room through it. I woke up late one night and happened to be facing towards the closet. It took a few moments to register I could not see the orange/yellow glow of the street light. Thinking maybe there was a blackout I turned to look at the larger window in our bedroom. Around the edges of the curtains I could see the glow of the street. I turned back towards the closet confused but now realized the darkness was a shape. It was black, like something covered in Vanta paint. There was no detail and looked more like a figure in a hood than a person by shape. I rolled over and grabbed my spouse but they wouldn’t wake up. I froze realizing that I could “feel” it was coming towards the bed. I just knew that if I turned again it would be standing over the bed staring down at me. I don’t know how long I stayed like that, frozen and terrified until I felt the presence fade. I made myself peek towards the closet and could see the window and light normally. The adrenaline left me so quickly I passed out. The flat, like most houses in that area of the city was old and haunted, but nothing had ever been malicious or frightening; just there. I never experienced anything like that before, and for the rest of the year we lived there I never saw it again. Thankfully! A dream? Certainly possible. But I know for days afterwards I was deeply exhausted. 😟

Hi i'm from Cluj and Hoia Baciu has been my neighbor for my entire life (37 y) i like the surrounding mysteries about that forest especially about Poiana Rotunda ( the round clearing) .I like to go there , mostly at night ,hoping to see something supernatural but nothing so far. I feel full of life there, despite the rumors about dead's and missing's , ghosts or aliens ,over time. Just a strange thing happened to me once , i had a pretty bad cut on my arm from a bike crash but it was bandaged , since i didn't have anything better to do ,i went into the forest near the clearing with the hammock at night till morning , nothing special ,just a lot of itching on the wound under the bandage all night ,i thought mosquitoes were bothering me , the next day when i wanted to change the bandage , guess what , no wound ,just a small scratch , i panicked a little bit ,and till now idk what really happen that night ,that was my one and only weird thing happened to my life.....

my own theory is based on a phrase mentioned in passing... "many of those admitted to hospital had an ear infection"... now, one of the sicknesses associated with inner ear problems as one of it's symptoms is actually a really nasty neural infection that occasionally appears in very humid hot marshy climates (I believe it's initiator is a fungi whose main carrier is a spore of one of the moss like plants). now, this disease (technically incorrect, but I'll call it that for simplicity) in it's early stages will show up as hallucinations where things appear to have a false material form. usually described as air & water appears to be jellylike or viscous & sounds start appearing to have a texture... in extreme cases a person may start to feel like he is drowning in a thick gelatinous substance... the after-effect is more like a severe tropical fever, but will last on and off for around 2 - 5 months, with occasional relapse for a period of up to 5 years. I know there was a peak of that disease in the south orient 1989-1991ish but maybe this is a belated echo of that (did not hear of it making it across the pacific... but) given that medical facilities in rural Oregon & Washington is maybe not up to par with some major center like Boston or DC, I can see doctors treating it with some success like a case of very severe flu.(you basically need a strong general antibiotic at that point) as for the Military, I can see them doing a covert internal investigation on whether they could have been involved... especially on the "Jellyfish story" as it was present in the media... it would also make sense that the guys would be from a totally different base as not to have any potential conflicts of interest. not saying it's the cause necessarily... but... that would be my theory as to what it could be.

honestly, the jellyfish theory sounds fairly legit, though that would also require a waterspout to bring the jellyfish (or remains thereof) into the air. dead jellyfish can be host to all kinds of infection, especially if falling on some sort of manured crops or something... not my top theory (I am doing a separate comment on that), but a very possible 2nd.
