Finally after years I can actually leave a relevant comment on RUclips 😂 Old lady here . I lived in Hythe for years and not being a car driver I used to have to use the train station in Sandling . It's got a really spooky reputation . The woodlands around have a very weird reputation many strange events . I won't go on because I am not good at typing stuff , arthritis , but it's seriously a very strange place . ❤
Funny story. There is no mention of Dogman in Keel's book. Dogman was invented for the 1984 Michigan Radio Station Hoax. No mention of the Chupucabra, either. Hoax. It's all worse now because anyone can throw any old shit onto the internet.
@@speedfreakjive8843 Okay , here goes . I had returned from a family trip up to Scotland . My older brother had bought a little seaside cottage and invited me up for a two week holiday . My brother is several years older and never married . He is very into survival stuff , fishes , forrages and basically lives off the land , which is cool . I had a lovely wee holiday and then it was time make the return journey home . Finally I arrived back at Sandling Station . As I walked across the small road bridge I saw the top half of a woman hovering above it 😶 Just the top half . No legs . Just the top half . Hairstyle possibly the 1920 ' s ? Promptly vanished . This has taken me ages to type 😅 That's my weird little story . 👍❤️ Best wishes to you

This reminds of something a close friend told me years ago about what happened to her father when he was a young boy in the 1930s. He grew up in rural Ireland in County Offaly and one day he and a friend went fishing in the local area as they often did, They were aged about ten or eleven at the time. The route to the river was through a densely wooded area but the boys being local knew the area well and was probably their playground in a way. After the days fishing they decided to head home as it was starting to get dark and proceeded into the woods, they parted company at some point as the friend lived in a different direction and was a short cut to his house. My friends father carried on his journey to his home in the other direction. By this time it was almost dark but he wasn't worried as he was almost home and he knew the route well. In those days especially in Ireland there weren't the concerns that children have today ( very Huckleberry Finn I would say) As he was walking he noticed something strange up ahead but didn't know what it was and trees were blocking him a clear view. As he got closer, in a clearing he saw a huge creature he describes as tall as the trees with glaring red eyes, very long arms outstretched emanating a strange sound. For a few seconds he stood routed to the spot scared to death. My friends father was absolutely terrified and run the rest of the way home bursting into the house and collapsing on the kitchen floor in a terrible state. His mother asked what on earth has happened , he recounted the event upon which he's mother told him never to tell anyone of what had happened. My guess is that because they were strict catholic she didn't want to be ostracised by the community or maybe she feared he would be put in a asylum as was the thing in those days. Years later the village finally got electricity as there was none in the area when he grew up. It was only then that he could describe the sound of what this thing was emitting. A strange electrical sound, a vibrational hum. I'm sure there are lots of details that I've missed about this story as it has been years since she talked about it and then years before since her father told her so probably not doing it justice. I never met her father but what she describes of him as a very humble man and not prone to fantastical stories only that one thing. Do I believe it ? I don't know, but when ordinary folk talk about extraordinary things it does make me wonder.

Back in the 1970's,my husband and a neighbor took a large bat kite, painted flourecent eyes on it and flew it at night over a pasture. Cars on the road were stopping to look at it lol
I had one of those bat kites as a kid in the 70s. Loved it. I had decals with large orange reflective eyes on it. If LED lightweight light technology had been available then I would have lit it up.
Despite my belief even knowledge that Sasquatch is real, I had always wanted to dress up like one, and stand by a highway at midnight , and run into the woods after the first passing vehicle spotted me.
I’ve always found the Mothman fascinating. I grew up in a small Missouri town very similar to Point Pleasant. It was full of hard working blue collar families that were part of a tight knit community, people like that could care less about nation wide attention and certainly don’t want the embarrassment of bringing negativity to their town if they were found to be dishonest. I understand there’s bad apples in every socioeconomic group and community, however I find it highly unlikely that individuals with nothing to gain would fabricate quite similar accounts. Odd to say the least . Not quite sure what to think. .As usual stunning graphics, artwork and photography. You really have an artistic eye . I love how you find unusual stories and weave your magic. Can you cover the tale of the Hairy Hands on Dartmoor , my neck of the woods. There are also rumours of wise women aka witches performing magic . It's definitely an eerie place and is somewhere I would never drive through after dark
You aren't the first person to ask for Hairy hands. Its a story that has stuck with me since childhood! Might not be enough to it to make a full episode on, but it might fit nicely into the new second channel I've just set up.
Truly enjoy your stories, and your narration is wonderful. I do fall asleep to the channel, but always go back and rehear the story if I do fall asleep and miss the ending. I am always looking forward to the next upload! Thanks for your efforts. I love this creepy, spooky stuff. Back in the 70's, I actually went to a lecture by Lorraine and Ed Warren about the Sallie house haunting, I believe. I lived and went to high school in CT when they were just becoming popular. Thought you'd enjoy that little ancient tidbit. 💜
Had a real deep interest in the Point Pleasant, mine problems (then collapse?) prior to the bridge collapse story, until some documents and a whistle-blower were going to come forward. Overnight the whistle-blower changed his mind, and pulled a firearm on the journalist, and cameraman and told them to go away, rather unkindly. It was an episode in a series but I cant remember which one. Something rather grubby was going on in Point Pleasant. I've continued to research the mothman and other pre disaster areas he has frequented the world over. Can't wait to watch this one!
Really enjoyable! I too wonder whether I would continue on if the opportunity arises? It makes you wonder if he, or they are a species of magnificent [E.Ts] and they're flying machines (🙄). An omnipotent angelic messenger who in his attempts to warn people pre-disaster/tragedy, seems only to frighten those he approaches. E.T messengers. Or, harbinger/s of doom?
I’m one of those “weirdos” that likes to listen to creepy/paranormal stories as I go to sleep. Frankly, I’d listen to basically anything you read just so I can relax to your voice (that accent!!!) It would be heavenly if you ever get into reading spooky novels on your channel. Keep it going, I love your stories 👻♥️
Nothing weird about it tbf! Spooky stories are told in a calm (sort of) relaxing voice. I happily fall asleep to a good calm narrated spooky story instead of a 13Y old screaming kid thats yells everything during fortnite.
@@maxnum1sgameclub263 the weirdo comment is said by me in a very tongue in cheek manner. I love a slow creepy tale or two to wind down as much as any of you 🙂
Point Pleasant was perfect for us to stop for lunch some years ago while traveling from the coast back to Ohio, where we lived. It was about the time I rekindled an old hobby of mine from childhood; ghosts, cryptids, and ufos. 😁 On the flip side, there was a sort of otherworldliness about the area. Its quiet, old, main-street-America appeal masked the oddity of the mothman's existence. Could it have truly happened? This I asked myself while taking photos of us, a family of four in front of the mothman statue. Well, UFOs are a reality, why not flying men with red eyes? If anyone gets the chance to go there, stop and read the plaque, touch the statue, and even cross the bridge. Thank you, Tape Library. How about the Flatwoods? It's close by. 😉
This high pitched sound from the télévision was probably the voltage multiplier / flyback transformer oscillating at a lower Frequency than it's supposed to. I've never saw this being the cause of a cathode ray tube to implode. They don't explose as there's a high vacuum inside these tubes. Sorry for the long comment, I'm a huge vintage electronic nerd and also a technician that restore and repair that kind of stuff since 40 years ago. (Yes, I'm that old) That aside, the whole mothman story is something that fascinate me, and I didn't knew there was other case. I like your channel and found the stories and reading quite entertaining and easy to understand as I'm not a native english speaker.
My dad started out as a TV and radio repairman in the 50s after NI. The bulbs and technology were huge and cumbersome. Even in the 60s and early 70s, our old tvs took several minutes to warm up. In the 60s I was bought a small transistor radio as a child, and listened to the moon landing with it.
This story always fascinates me, no matter how many times i hear it from different channels or documentaries. Some things i get tired of but never Mothman because there were so many sitings leading up to the bridge collapse. Maybe its the real life tragedy that loans it an air of legitimacy. A being thats not quite a demon but not an immortal either. Best folklore "monster" imo.
A friend of mine once told me of a weird encounter he had deep in the jungle of Borneo. He was returning home from a hunting trip late one night when the engine to his boat suddenly died. He immediately noticed a bright ball of light on the river bank across him. He and his fellow hunters watched quietly as the ball grew in size while rising up from the ground like a flower opening it's petals and finally shot up to the sky. Once darkness return they kept rowing calmly further down river before giving the engine another try. It roared back into life and they left area as quickly and safely as possible without a word. As rule you don't call out at the weird things you encounter at night lest you're inviting a supernatural being over. Unless they're flying imps: if you see a ball of light streaking low above you immediately called then out and they'll drop out of the sky.

Thankyou for the stories. The Mothman of Point Pleasant is one of my favorite cryptids. I have read John Keels book and it was very good . He was a very good researcher who actually went there and saw some of the lights himself.😊
I love your videos and your stories never fail to grasp my attention, but the issue is your voice is so calming I have a tendency to fall asleep halfway through! 😂
A man answered a knock at his door one evening only to be confronted by a human sized insect. It punched him in the stomach, slapped his face hard and called him obscene names, it then flew away. A warning was broadcast on the tv later that evening not to answer late night knocks as there was a nasty bug going around!😆🤣
Have you ever heard of the story of the Devil visiting the County of Devon? There's a old story where you're from about the Devil visiting a small village overnight in the winter of 1855. The Devil's hoofprints were seen all over the village the next morning, on the ground walking up the side of houses and down the other side. The men of the village gathered up and followed the hoofprints for several miles. Like the houses, when the hoofprints came to a wall, they walked up the one side and down the other, when comimg to a creek the hoofprints appeared to walk right up to the edge of the waterline and appear on the other side. The prints were even melted into an exposed led sewage pipe. Maybe you can do some research on this story and make a video of it?
Well I managed to fit it in on my lunch break. I really liked it as I enjoy most of the stories you tell. They remind me of old radio broadcasts. I have herd the Mothman story many times over my years but as I said, I enjoyed hearing it in this creepy manner. Thank you!
The thing that is so fascinating about events like these is the intertwining & web-like manner in which they unfold. Everything is meshed & formed together to blend into each other. The Mothman of Point Pleasant along with his counterpart in England. I do feel sorry for what happened to that family's dog. Thanks for this report & I subbed.
I appreciate you stating, preferring not to pad stories solely for length. Integrity has been lacking in entertainment for a while. Thank you, keep up the great work! We are all waiting, in the darkness, for your voice to soothe with spookiness ...✌️❤️
This was an interesting video on a personal basis. Some years ago, my wife and I were travelling and went through Point Pleasant West Virginia, specifically because I was fascinated by the whole Mothman story, and the whole horrific bridge collapse that resulted in multiple deaths. We saw the Mothman statue in Point Pleasant. It's cool! We also came across a park with a marker over the bones of Chief Cornstalk, a Shawnee chief who was apparently murdered by American soldiers back in the 1770's. Don't remember all the details, but the story is, as I recall, the dying Cornstalk cursed the region around Point Pleasant, and some believe the Mothman and bridge collapse resulted from the curse. Thanks for your work!
I was sat listening to this, amazed that I had never heard of it before - I live in Hythe on the South coast. Then I realised you were talking of the other Hythe on the southeast coast in Kent lol. Great telling of this tale - thank you 😊😊
Loved this! Curious why you didn’t use more of John Keels material? He speaks on Mothman in nearly all his books. Super surprised you didn’t reference his book, The Mothman Prophecies
Glad you enjoyed it! I didn't use lots of Keels work for this because it was really supposed to be focused on the Hythe Mothman and the events in Saltwood, which he really only wrote very briefly about. The little he did write though basically was my main source for a decent chunk of this episode. Will likely do a more general mothman episode at some point in the future.
I can't say I believe in cryptids, but I honestly enjoy all of the content that you present. It's well researched and delivered in a way that gives a creepy edge to the story, without sensationalising it or blowing it out of proportion. Keep it up, you do great work.
Honestly, it's not something I love to cover usually unless it has some additional weirdness like this one. I feel like Hythe (and point pleasant to be fair) are only partially cryptid stories.
This is a bit of a special one for me I used to live in the old moth man sighting areas along the Ohio River in southern Ohio Kentucky and West Virginia.i was around 6 or 7 years old back then. I remember frequent sightings being brought up all the time. Only a tiny fraction of the actual sightings made it to the media. The rest was talk of the town. And I remember being genuinely freaked out by these tales especially when night fall came I recall always staring at my bedroom window just waiting to see a giant pair of red glowing eyes light up just outside the window. I'm glad I never personally got to see it! But now being 44 going on 45 Hell YES I'd love to get to witness it now!! Again you told these tales very well a very nice edition to the 📼 Tape📼 Library!!!!
My good friends mother, swore that she saw a horned, green man, on Sugarloaf hill, within sight from Sandling, when she was a little girl, pre WW11. The whole area is strange. Lockdown year i had 2 very strange experiences in two different old pubs, very near by which still make me think!

Thanks for watching!
You replied to yourself?
lol do you often reply to yourself? Makes me wonder how many other people talk to themselves in these comments. 🤣
@@MinD_EroSioNI think it may be a harbinger of disaster. ❤
Another amazing story man! I love the myth of the mothman! I really wished there were more sightings of it!
i struggle with anxiety while trying to sleep but ur voice and the background noises soothe me right to sleep haha
Amazing, so glad if it can help even a little bit!
Enjoyed the content in this video thank you .
Wow i’m really starting to like this channel a lot! Please keep the amazing content coming sir.
Thanks, will do!
I’m one of those “weirdos” that likes to listen to creepy/paranormal stories as I go to sleep.
Frankly, I’d listen to basically anything you read just so I can relax to your voice (that accent!!!)
It would be heavenly if you ever get into reading spooky novels on your channel.
Keep it going, I love your stories 👻♥️
Aww thank you! Not something I'm likely to do here but maybe that's an idea for the future
I love a slow creepy tale or two to wind down as much as any of you 🙂
Same here. I always listen to spooky stories on RUclips to fall asleep to lol
Sure I'll get to flatwoods at some point 🙂
This high pitched sound from the télévision was probably the voltage multiplier / flyback transformer oscillating at a lower Frequency than it's supposed to. I've never saw this being the cause of a cathode ray tube to implode. They don't explose as there's a high vacuum inside these tubes. Sorry for the long comment, I'm a huge vintage electronic nerd and also a technician that restore and repair that kind of stuff since 40 years ago. (Yes, I'm that old)
That aside, the whole mothman story is something that fascinate me, and I didn't knew there was other case.
What great story and well told!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This channel has grown! Good work! 👍
Yeah, genuinely touched by all the support from people out there
This story always fascinates me, no matter how many times i hear it from different channels or documentaries.
Ball lightning.
Just found this channel. I dig it, hence I subscribed. I don’t fall asleep to videos because I would miss most of it. Anyway, good stuff here.
thank you and welcome!
Why haven’t you got yet at least one million subs? I mean, your numbers are pretty good but, man! Your quality is beyond many other channels I’ve seen! Thank you for investing so much time, work and creativity in your videos. I really hope you blow up big time!
Appreciate it, thank you!
I heard about him when visiting Family members and then i moved back to the UK and then others would tell me.THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS TO THE PUBLIC.GREAT VIDEO AS USUAL.
Thankyou for the stories. The Mothman of Point Pleasant is one of my favorite cryptids. I have read John Keels book and it was very good . He was a very good researcher who actually went there and saw some of the lights himself.😊
That music sound at the end totally creeped me out and I had to pause momentarily 😂
Love this channel.
This has taken such a crazy turn 😄love this priest!!
I want to know if he ended up tracking down the black magic group
I love your videos and your stories never fail to grasp my attention, but the issue is your voice is so calming I have a tendency to fall asleep halfway through! 😂
The whole thing with Cryptids is a lot of fun. I liked hearing about the similar event across the pond. The similarities are quite intriguing to me.
I'm ashamed at myself actually laughing at this haha
😅😅😅
😂😂😂😂
Rimshot sound effect
I read about that back in the seventies it's in a book called strange stories amazing facts by Reader's Digest
@heidi2166
I first heard about it back in the 80's in a book called Mysterious World.
Warrime or bedtime stories has a video on it
Just love this channel Hello from Canada
Hello!
Another great episode. This channel is top tier my guy👍
Thank you so much!
Also, fantastic profile pic
Nice! Thanks! 🤙🤙 I needed a new video to lift my spirits a little. Thanks for your hard work! 👍🤙
Hope you're okay! Thank you for watching
Well I managed to fit it in on my lunch break. I really liked it as I enjoy most of the stories you tell. They remind me of old radio broadcasts. I have herd the Mothman story many times over my years but as I said, I enjoyed hearing it in this creepy manner. Thank you!
Thank you TTL, my favourite channel.
Aunt Barbara adores you! 😘
Thanks aunt Barbara!
You are doing some great work TL. Im really enjoying your channel.
I'm one of those weirdos who love listening to all things creepy to fall asleep to
Glad you enjoy it!
This was very interesting; I had no idea there were other sightings! Very well presented, looking to see more.
Loved it mate
Thank you!
Late night comment for the algorithm with greetings from Germany! Already making your way towards 150k subs, I see?
Getting there!
5:18 all I need is one of these stories and a good joint 😂😂
A 7 foot tall Crow. Yeah that would be frightening.
Great episode 👍
Thank you!
Very interesting, glad i have discovered your channel.
Thanks and welcome!
I appreciate you stating, preferring not to pad stories solely for length. Integrity has been lacking in entertainment for a while. Thank you, keep up the great work! We are all waiting, in the darkness, for your voice to soothe with spookiness ...✌️❤️
Thank you 🙂
This was an interesting video on a personal basis.
Thank you for sharing your experience of visiting!
I was sat listening to this, amazed that I had never heard of it before - I live in Hythe on the South coast. Then I realised you were talking of the other Hythe on the southeast coast in Kent lol. Great telling of this tale - thank you 😊😊
Yeah no stories about the other Hythe I'm afraid haha.
I liked your video. Particularly, your succinct coverage of the Kent experiences drew my admiration. Thank you.
keep up the great work, and have a comment for the algorithm
Thank you!
Looks interesting! Do more like this
Oh man, excited for this one.
Nice to get to know stories from the other side of the pond
I can't say I believe in cryptids, but I honestly enjoy all of the content that you present. It's well researched and delivered in a way that gives a creepy edge to the story, without sensationalising it or blowing it out of proportion. Keep it up, you do great work.
Honestly, it's not something I love to cover usually unless it has some additional weirdness like this one. I feel like Hythe (and point pleasant to be fair) are only partially cryptid stories.
Even a video short time wise, always informative & entertaining from you.
Thanks again🌸🕊
A similar cryptid was sighted around Chernobyl before it melted down in the 1980's. Check it out! It was called the Owl Man of Chernobyl.
Also over a harbour in Japan just before the 2011 tsunami. There's footage of that one.
😮
Thanks for researching this and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next!!
Thanks for sharing!
If it’s like math vs maths, it’s the mothsman
never knew about the Kentish mothman incident till now
Very good tale. Never knew it was here First.
Cheers😊
I really enjoyed this, well narrated and edited! o7👍
I really enjoy your content thank you 🎉❤
You are so welcome
My good friends mother, swore that she saw a horned, green man, on Sugarloaf hill, within sight from Sandling, when she was a little girl, pre WW11.
The whole area is strange.
Lockdown year i had 2 very strange experiences in two different old pubs, very near by which still make me think!
Wow. What was happening on the day that I was born!! Have heard of the mothman story before. Anther captivating listen. ❤
Reminds me of mothman prophecies movie
Am I ok, should have read the comments
Love your videos ❤
I wonder if you might make a RUclips video on Big Bird? (and no, not the 0ne from Sesame Street)
PS: Tremors interfere at times with my typing. 🙄
Will add it to my list to look into!
