@@noakes1000 thank you for watching and chiming in
I graduated from the same High School this man attended, in 1977, and 10 days later I left, and joined the U.S. Army, serving for 4 years. We're all connected, in ways we seldom realize.
You went to Hyde Park too?! Fantastic. So did much of my family....My dad went to Bowen. His dad went to Englewood while he lived in Hyde Park. Thanks for your service
Sandbank was not here and the pebbles are gone , DUDE ; it's 80 fuc.ing years ago , what did you expect , the the germans were waiting for you to ? American bellend 🙄🙄🤦♂🤦♂👎👎

Thank you Mr Williams. What was your outfit in Vietnam?
"LOOK ARROUND YOU TODAY AND YOU SHALL SEE WHO WAS RIGHT"
10:47 The Trumpites need to listen to his answer to the interviewer's question. Its so relevant today.
Thanks for chiming in. The line certainly makes me think about him
Powerful watching him stand there, reliving the parts of that day he remembers! A heartfelt THANK YOU to Fritz! Thank you.
Riconoscenza infinita a questi valorosi soldati, che con il loro sacrificio hanno riportato la libertà in Europa.❤
What a great man, such a humble and honest man, thank you Sir for your service and sacrifices to allow us to enjoy the freedom that we take for granted these days.
Very interesting. Good vid
Grandi uomini...
Impossible not to be emotional watching him as he speaks about being kicked out of Germany for being Jewish, leaving Cherbourg in 1935, only to be back in France in 1944. Beautiful
sam- here in new zealand ahh met up with a family from Germany .- their surname is- Schwammburg.- They were jewish germen bankers somewhere in germany and Got too new zealand in 1930's.- When W.W.2 came along 4 off them joined New Zealand Army and one kiled in Libya and another in Italy
My Father in Law landed on Utah Beach. He would have been 100 years old in January of this year 2024. God Bless.
💗
God bless indeed
For all the Army, Navy and Air-Force, men + ladies, who prepared for and fought in, even with sacrifice of their own lifes, the big Overlord operation (D-Day) our, all and best, respect! Let us say: Honours, be, for all, of them! For all, who, already in the eternity or still alived, gave admirable and nice examples (we must never forget) let us pray to be never forgotten by God and His blessings, for all of them! All were finaly, forever, like God soldiers and started the invitation for Europe all people build a life with no tyranny nazi, in peace and for the democracy (always giving hands like brothers)! D-Day, was, is and will be - forever - a remarkable and unforgetable date! Here, just a portuguese and christian family, in Portugal. Respectfully. L+E
Thank you for sharing that !
My great great uncle Russ was wounded at the battle of the bulge and about 30 or 40 years ago he was invited to one of these events but he replied “I had enough France when I was in the service.” He died bout 20 years and unfortunately I never got to meet him.
I believe it. My great uncle was in the Bulge as well. It must've just sucked! Thanks for sharing !
Mein größten Respekt! Nur eins sollte man zur Kenntnis nehmen! Wer verdiente an Hitler?! Amerikanische Geschäftsfreunde! ruclips.net/video/5RNqlKSwsyI/видео.htmlsi=K5qku65UeuyNj5Cu
What an emotional roller coaster for these heroes to go back to these peace sands. We owe them an immeasurable debt of gratitude Thank you for your sacrifice your courage steadfast desire to fight the good fight
thank you for that Allan
There are other modest people who have served in armed forces in other parts of the world sometimes for years who suffered all the discomforts and dangers yet they don't go on about it like these fellows - year after year
Thank god some of them go on about it, especially these fellows. D Day was the bigggest amphibius invasions in modern history (or one of them) and recording the stories of living participants, for posterity, is an invaluable resource. And you won't have to worry about hearing them much longer.
in last 7 years in Auckland City it been war zone concerning- scooters/ bikes/ skateboards/ other on footpaths and every other nook and trany the demons can show off on.
Deepest respect
Amazing how sharp his mind is after all these years
Man, he’s in good shape for almost 100 years old. God bless
This was recorded 20 years ago. Fritz passed in 2012. He is so missed
Fascinating documentation, many thanks for posting it.
I'm watching this and crying like a baby.
Thanks for that! I'll post his long interview I did a few years before we walked the beach in 2004.
Me also I cannot begin to tell you what they all mean to me. 😊
HERÓIS!!!
Sounds like he stayed hidden under the tank until all the killing was over! Probably why he survived!
Think he said it was too dangerous
Se llama supervivencia....tu que habrías hecho si hubieras estado Allí en ese momento, viendo cono todos tus compañeros son ametrallados por las mg 42 ???
Typical world war two vet that takes no credit, The greatest generation
Understandable, you were a young man in one of the most horrific time of WWII.
From my family to Mr. Weinschenk, thank you Sir for the freedom you provided us. My family will forever be grateful and will not forget.
"I was just a guy," he says to the camera crew. If I could have spoke to him after I would have told him, "true, you were 'just a guy' along with thousands just like you on that beach that day and together liberated a country giving it back to its people and changing the direction of a horrible war. So "no", I would have told him, "you were more than just a guy, you are heroes." May God bless them all. 🇺🇲🇬🇧🇨🇦
Amen. I hadn't watched this interview in its entirety since we filmed that day. I was really anxious when walking the beach and didn't have time to really enjoy it.
Such an amazing determined and courageous life and Service of Serviceman Fritz Weinschenk! May God Almighty continue to bless protect and use him! ❤🙏🇺🇸
"I came, just over here, to Cherbourg in 1935. And I came back in 1944". Matter of fact, and "I was just a guy". Unbelievable.
He was the coolest guy ever. Miss him. Thank you for watching and chiming in
Thank you so much for sharing this!
Thank you so much 4 your service
FOR !!!
American, Canadian, British, French, simply the greatest generation of our time ,sadly never to be repeated. Take away the youths mobile phone away .and they would surrender. Its so tragic to witness the greatest generation to our day 80 years on to the this day to witness the new generation that is simply carbage , the youth of today simply do not interact by their voices but only via text so so sad .
100%
Not the greatest, they were ass kickers but the greatest generation wouldn’t have a group of people oppressing other races. America wasn’t free For Natives, Hispanics, Blacks or asians. They were all treated like shit and had their right taken from them.
u S A would not let jews into our country
Happy Memorial Day my Granddads name was also Henry and he’s buried at Arlington too. So glad you got this interview. I wish I had one with my Pop. Luckily his exploits have been well documented by my Uncle Henry. Cheers 🍀and Happy Memorial Day.
That's so nice of you to chime in. Thanks for that. Happy Memorial Day to you as well. Was your dad in WWII?
?
Thanks for your service, and for sharing your story in detail.
My father was in the 3rd Infantry Division, North Africa to Berchtesgaden. He told me about the 34th Red Bull Division. He had tremendous respect for the 34th. The Divisions that fought early in the war deserve a LOT of credit. What a wonderful interview with a tremendous soldier and human being. Thank you for preserving this man’s story!
I appreciate your words. Glad you watched this. Did your dad talk about Gen Truscott ?
Yes sir! My father, who was a combat medic, loved General Truscott. One time on Sicily, dad stopped to bandage a civilian’s leg, knowing that he would have to run to catch back up to his men. He was hurrying with the wound and looked up into the smiling face of General Truscott who was back down the trail. The General complimented him for caring about the civilian and told him to take his time, his company had fallen out to rest just around the bend. Those men learned the Truscott trot! 120 steps per minute, 4 miles per hour for 20 miles. Amazing what Truscott built the 3rd Infantry Division into. Later on the commanding General was Iron Mike O’Daniel. Dad adored him even more than Truscott because he was around Iron Mike more. Even patched up his shoulder once when an 88 hit the building they were standing by and a brick came down on the Generals shoulder.
@@geoffthornton9004 WOW. thanks so much for sharing this
What a tremendous Interview with this Army Soldier of WWII! He truly was a Hero of the Greatest Generation. A humble valiant man.❤️🇺🇸
thank you so much for the kind words.
Thank you for your sacrifices
12 million ppl not a bone ...a tooth a finger...etc
This man's memory is not only incredible, but he has very unique experiences of the world prior to the war. This is quite a rare interview with a great man.
Thanks for watching and your compliments !
What was Werner's rank?
This man is extremely articulate and knowledgeable. Sadly, the questions were disjointed and off-point for much of the time, but Haas's responses are mesmerizing. But who is running the camera? It seems to have a mind of its own!
Astonishing! So happy Mr. Shloss was interviewed in 2001 <3
This interviewer is like a Mother confessor! Let Marvin talk already!
I couldn't help myself. I was a young man at the time. Glad you're watching.
My uncle married German girl. He was US Army. She left family in Germany World War II. Her mother came over afterwards.
My friend's dad too. They had a big family
