3 Days Kayak Camping the North Fork of the White River
The North Fork of the White River may be the most fun we've had paddling to date. It may not be the most scenic, remote or have the best fishing or camping; but it was just plain fun to paddle. Especially The Falls!
In this trip we went from Hebron Access to Blair Bridge, just 20.5 miles. Not our usual longer trip, but temps got up over 100 degrees!
All the boats in this trip are NuCanoes. Grant's in the Unlimited, Elea the U10 and Henry in the Frontier 12.

Kayak Camping the Buffalo Wilderness with our Australian Friend

Here we kayak the 24 miles from Rush Landing to Riley's Outfitters on the Buffalo National River. This stretch is known as the Lower Buffalo Wilderness, because there is zero access to the river. No boat ramps, launches, campgrounds, bridges or roads. It's no Ponca and doesn't harbor the treasured scenery of the upper Buffalo River, but it is well worth the paddle, especially in June when the u...

Can You Kayak Camp On A Big Lake? | Truman Lake Overnight
Love my Rapide SL….until it started leaking this weekend after only using it for a week. Started the process to replace it. Happy to hear they have good customer support.
This guy has a chest kit bag where his PFD should be zipped up. U see how he was pushing off with that paddle. Weekend warriors👎👎😔💩
I’m not gonna say too much here for obvious reasons of opsec. NEVER ENTER THE WILDERNESS UNARMED. 🇺🇸
Cane Bluff to Greer is mainly only floatable in the Spring
I love watching your videos, the rivers in MO are beautiful, wish we had rivers and scenery like that down in Alabama. I also love your videos are with family and friends, your son Max will always remember these trips.
Awesome video & adventure!!!!
Beautiful river ,and super well done filming, great job 👍👍
Great stuff! Looking forward to making it over there!
Well worth the trip, can't wait to go back!
Another fantastic video, Grant!! Now this one's on the list, too!! 😁 Great job, bro!!! 👊
Thanks, Dan! The day the list starts shrinking instead of growing will be sad, indeed.
@OzarkMediaCo Yes sir!! 😁
Your videos just keep getting better and better! 11/10 really wanna float this river! 😜
Let's go!
This was an awesome kayak camping 🏕 trip with your family &your buddy . The other guy with you is he your brother or a friend ? It's so awesome to see your dog 🐕 just having a nice relaxing time on the kayak 🛶 man . I just got me a black lab Puppy that I took into my house hold from being abandoned on the street at 8 weeks old back in March or April of this year . My oldest son has one too that he got for a Christmas gift back in 2023 & both dogs 🐕 they love kayaking 🛶 , kayak camping 🏕 , & playing in the water too . We got both dogs 🐕 PFD & it's so funny cuz my dog 🐕 know what PFD mean now & when I say it he will go pickup his PFD if he can & bring it to me for me to put it on him . I love watching your videos like this man cuz it's so awesome to see the fun you & your family & friends have on your trip man . I went kayak camping 🏕 on Labor day weekend holiday & it's going to be my last one too because I got Second degree sunburn all over me & my feet 🦶 are not healing at all . I can't put on any footwear at all , can't drive any vehicles barefooted 👣 or walk barefooted 👣 because it hurts really really bad a still to this day . I can't even work because of it . Good video buddy thanks you so much for sharing this video buddy . P.S. was this the trip your sandals broke on ?
We're all brothers! You seem to have some issues with your feet Mack! You might go to a podiatrist!
@OzarkMediaCo Yes i do . I had foot issue all my life because I was born with very very extremely wide feet 🦶 with toes that are Evenly straight across instead of being at a 45° Degrees angle like your toes are & like footwear are made & that's why close toes footwear doesn't fit me because of how my toes are Evenly straight across . I was also involved in a truck 🚛 accident back in 2000 & broke both of my feet 🦶 & every since then the skin on my feet 🦶 has gotten very very extremely sensitive on very hot 🥵 day & because of my feet 🦶 being 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe it's very very extremely difficult to find footwear that will cover my feet 🦶 up . My foot doctor told me that i might Need to stop kayaking 🛶 because I have to kayak 🛶 barefooted 👣 . I love kayaking 🛶 man & I am not trying to stop kayaking 🛶 . My regular doctor & foot doctor are now talking about me having foot surgery to reduce the width of my feet 🦶 to were i can put on some shoe . It's so bad that i have to drive my car 🚗 , pickup 🛻 , & Truck 🚛 barefooted 👣 because my feet 🦶 touch both gas and brakes pedal at the same time because of how extremely wide my feet 🦶 are & how evenly straight across my toes are . I have to look down at the pedal to see where to put my foot at so that I don't have a rear end collection . I can only use a sit on top kayak 🛶 because my foot got stuck in a brand new sit inside kayak 🛶 & the pedal drive kayak 🛶 i can't get one because the pedal are not wide enough for my feet 🦶 & they keep falling off the pedal . So you're right man I have big feet 🦶 problems man . But I am 95% of the time barefooted 👣 because it's so much easier for me & i can only wear flip flops 🩴 which barely fit me because my toes are wider than the flip flops 🩴. Thanks you for replying back to me & I apologize for talking about my feet 🦶 so much but that's my biggest problem in my life right now of having very big very very Extremely wide feet 🦶 at are sz15 6E wide with very chubby fat wide toes that are Evenly straight across making my foot 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe . P.S. Thanks you so much for sharing your family kayak camping 🏕 trip cuz I just love watching other people kayaking camping 🏕 trip . You do an awesome job man . Keep it up buddy .
Gorgeous, Grant! Another high-quality video. 👍 Really enjoyed the music on this one, too.
Thanks! Chose music that was fun for this fun river!
Nice vid! Haven't had a chance to float this river. Looks great.
Every river has something a little different to offer. This one was just a dang hoot paddle!
Awesome, Thank you for taking us along on this beautiful outdoor adventure. I have loved your channel since you started it.
Awesome, thank you! Tons of content shot lately, just got to get it churned out. See you soon for the next one!
yall look like little pu*** a*** liberals
Miss your videos. Hope you come back soon!
New video dropping this weekend!
Good for you guys super Rad .
It was indeed
Had a 8+ year old DB2 and the charging was garbage, so sent it in. They comped the cost ($100) and put in updated batteries and hardware free of charge. Bonus: sent Swag. Dude was so good. I use mine in the garage, backyard, and on my yak for long trips.
Seems like such an awesome company
A friend met me for Niangua trip from Bennet Spring. She dumped her kayak twice. Once I could not get to her. She was SO angry with me she took off and left me. 🤷♀️ I had no clue she was so inexperienced. I wasn’t a guide or anything like that. But for sure I learned a lesson , no paddling with anyone until I know their skill level. Didn’t help that she didn’t follow my lead. 🤷♀️ It was a trip!
Being responsible for less capable paddlers is sometimes an unwanted stressor, but can also be really rewarding when they fall in love with the sport!
Great trip! Love the Current River!
Who couldn't?
How do you guys not have more subscribers and views? This is gonna be the best quality video on luxury kayak pack out that I’ve ever seen.
Thanks for the kind words! More videos incoming and so maybe more subs 🤷♂️
Awesome video, journey, adventure! What a fun time. Thanks for sharing..
Glad you enjoyed it!
I believe Georgia has very different laws.
How do?
Ciao ragazzi complimenti per il video . Dove si trova questo fiume? Da dove siete partiti? Quanti km? Dove siete arrivati? Buon proseguimento a tutti.. Grazie
I live in Southern Illinois and have always came over to Missouri to float but just got a packraft this year. It's not a kayak but I'm hoping to use some of these tips to make my trips more comfortable. Glad I found your channel and am currently in the process of watching all the videos! :)
Hope you enjoy them! Getting ready to go launch a bunch more(been out paddling!)
Would you recommend the flint for one person + a small/medium dog? Thanks! Looking forward to your next videos!
Yes!
Is it also a small/medium person? How much gear you taking? What kind of rivers? We try to keep away from the top 15% of boats' capacity to maintain stability. Generally, yes; the Flint is an awesome boat for stuff like that, but if you have any concerns about capacity or stability, consider getting into a U10
Do weableau creek this spring after a decent rain, class 3 in certain parts according to the map.
Sounds sporty! We're not much for whitewater lol
Glad I found you. Just moved to Oregon and looking forward to new ways to camp.
Heck yeah! Get out here there and have fun! PNW is so beautiful
I absolutely adore my AGAWA Boreal 21 folding saw.. Get it with the case and extra blade, they sell different blades for different types of wood cutting.. Now that was a nice little review. Thanx.
We've been using it since May now and it's a game changer.
This was an good video man . Thanks you for showing us how you was fixing up the kayak 🛶 . Not a lot of people show that . Your sandals are awesome man . What kind are they cuz i would like to get me a pair of those? Thanks you for sharing this video buddy.
Merrell. They just broke on the last trip. I can't seem to get them to last.
@@OzarkMediaCo O OK Merrell . Man that suck that they broke man . I am looking for a good pair of sandals to wear . I have to wear flip flops 🩴which I really really love wearing cuz it's the only footwear that will barely and I mean barely fit on my feet 🦶 because I have big & very very Extremely wide feet 🦶sz15 6E wide ( which is very very extremely wide feet 🦶 ) with very very chubby fat wide toes that are Evenly straight across making my foot very very Extremely wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe . My foot outgrow shoes , socks , & boots because of how evenly straight across my toes are . My toes are not at a 45° Degrees angle like your toes are & like footwear are made . My toes are Evenly straight across so when I try to fit my foot into a shoes my 4/5 toes get crushed which really really hurts when you are a chubby fat dude at 385Ibs . I hope you find another pair of sandals to wear . Please let me know if you do please .
Man what an awesome time you all had . Good eating & all . I just did a 37 mile kayak camping 🏕 trip over the labor day weekend myself with my whole entire family & with some family friends . It was a huge group of us like 20 people in all & 2 dogs 🐕 . I have a question buddy ? In the beginning i like the sandals you was wearing. I am looking for a pair of sandals to wear for kayaking 🛶 . What kind of sandals are you wearing ? I have been looking at Chaco's sandal because they have a pair for wide feet 🦶 . I have very very extremely wide feet 🦶 that are 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe . My problem is that my toes are Evenly straight across & very very fat & chubby as well & feet 🦶 won't fit in any close toes footwear because of how evenly straight across my toes are & how extremely wide my feet 🦶 are so i have to kayak 🛶 barefooted 👣 because of this & having to walk over top of river rock barefooted 👣 is starting to hurt my feet 🦶 . I also like in the video at 35:40 were you was barefooted 👣 kayaking 🛶 cuz that's how i have to kayak 🛶. Good video buddy thanks you for sharing this video buddy.
The Rapide SL is made in China and Taiwan
Seems like most stuff is these days. They're decent quality at any rate.
Nice river. Good for camping and casting bro❤
We're blessed!
What camera are you using at camp?
That was an A7C
Dude this is a well done video! I'm hoping to put out this kinda quality some day. I need a drone!!!! ...and a lot more skill 😆 loved it!
Don't fly it in National Parks! 🤦♂️🤣
Do you find that the Rapide sleeps colder than its R-Value?
I had a new one and I was cold 5 camp outs in a row in temperatures it should be able to handle and had to sell it. Unfortunate, because it was so comfortable
@@behind-the-gear Thanks for sharing your experience! I ended up buying 2 Exped Ultra 5r LW pads just in case I roll over my feet don't hit the ground lol
No, not really. We also don't typically camp much under mid-30s
Yes. Reviews put it more like a 3-4
I used it with zenbivy sleep system in lower 30° F and it was cold in the mornings. I don't believe the adverised R value.
Great video with some amazing editing! Buffalo National River is a special place. I've kayak camped 253 miles on it this year and can't wait to get back on it. I'm sure the kid will always remember it.
Hey hey paddlers!! I'm looking for anyone that has info on the Osage from Bagnell to the mouth at the Missouri. Have you or has anyone you know have any info?
Usually stay off of water that big. Don't have any tips for you, sorry!
Hi from the Adirondacks in New York. Fantastic review! You two are so charming and it's clear you know what you're talking about and why. Thanks for creating and sharing such great content. Happy trails and waters!
Our pleasure!
This was amazing and delightful! Thanks for sharing your trip and the beautiful scenery!
We had fun doing it!
This was a great video and very helpful! We have recently purchased the Kelty Doublewide sleeping bag and I was wondering if you use a specific compression sack for it. I haven’t found one that I like or that fits. Thanks again!!
We ended up buying some really beefy straps with big ole tri-glides to compress it down as no sack really seemed to do the trick.
Upper Jack's Fork is still on my bucket list. Amazing river.
Frustrating some of the best sections of the best rivers have to be timed just right. Probably helps keep them free from a load of people too tho
The cinematography on this is really impressive, especially for a channel with only 2k subscribers. Hope you blow up soon, thanks for the adventure!
Woot! Thanks for the kindness. Maybe we'll get more than 2k? 🤞
Really enjoying these videos. Thank you for making them. I float the Jacks and Current yearly. It's time to kayak and spend the night on the river. All these videos are fantastic in getting me started in the right direction for the adventure. The fact that you get 8 others to go is awesome!! Good friends, good times.
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it!
This video was very well put together. I miss my F12 that I had.
F12s are awesome
great video. thx
Glad you like it!
The Lower Buffalo is great! Just watch when you are camping close to the White. If there is rain it can quickly raise the water level. Learned that the hard way.
Crossing the White was crazy enough!
Great video!! If you have issues with tent stakes, many backpackers will use the big rock Little Rock method!!! Tie your guyline around a small rock then use a big rock on the line going to your tent. Can hold it well in pretty solid wind. Tent- big rock (sitting on line)- tied small rock.
Nice tip!
Muzin is smaller cheaper and 1/4 of the cost, the battery doesn't last 4 forever but nothing ever does
Not even comparable products. The battery life is 8hr vs 40hr, the dB is 70 vs 100(the scale is not linear), the Muzen is IP-X5 the Demerbox is IP-X8. Demerbox has dry storage, 3.5mm, USB out and Bluetooth smart features. Honestly, at $400 the Demerbox is actually a better value than the $80 Muzen.
Are you using the 40” wide for just yourself or with your spouse? Thanks.
Just for me. We've slept on it together before but it's tight. I also toss and turn quite a bit.
