Procedural Anime Rocks in Blender [EEVEE] - Comfee Tutorials
The saturation filter section is not working for me. When I connect it to the material output, the point light does not effect the model. I have gone over each node and nothing is different.
how would one make this work with a texture?
weird, when i use sunlight source and rotate object the lighted part stays at the same place on the object instead of lighting up the part facing sunlight direction, what happened?
alright the spherize of shadow part from 1st video fucks it up
you have such a great voice
It is worth mentioning, that for the geometry node "Edge Angle" it is important to have quite some subdivisions. As the user manual says, the output of this node depends on the density of the mesh. I had the default cube of Blender and instead of highlighted edges I had the complete cube highlighted.
How come only the Sun and Point lights display color? I have to crank up a spot's strength to ridiculous numbers to shine a light. Even then its only the spots color and not the objects
Take all my subscribes and patreon subscriptions. Was losing my mind trying to set this up myself.
Do you have any technique to make fire on a candle for example on an anime styled scene. I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
does the basic texture node an add on? i cant get in the search nodes
Bro its so confusing and very hard to follow when couple of mouse icons doing different things on screen... Like 1:51
Hey dude, great tutorial. Could you help me a little? I don't seem to have Shader to RGB in my modules. Pretty sure I have the most recent version of Blender. Is it part of an add-on, or how can I access it? (I did search and it said "no results found"). Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me on this.
5:52 i dont have "musgrave texture" in blender 4.2 what has i do?
Muchas gracias
It's fantastic... Is it possible to make a anime material addon just like realistic material addon available for blender?
FUCK SHADERS!
Bro... Thank you... Thank you for your research and for sharing your searches and conclusions with us.. this is great!
When I add the spherical shading it seems to prevent the lighting from changing when I rotate the object. If I knew how to use nodes to copy the object's rotation directly into the Mapping node I know that'd work, but I'm not sure how to do it.
I figured out how to fix this. Instead of using a texture coordinate Node I used a object info node and geometry node. I plugged the normal from the geometry node to replace the texture coordinate's, then subtracted plugged the geometry node's position and object info's location into a vector subtract node, and plugged the resulting vector into the mix node. Sorry if that wasn't a very good explanation. I don't really know how to use blender that well, I've just done a lot of math in my life.
it would be amazing to know how to do this for unity
With the changes in 4.2, or 4.3, make sure you check Camera and Light Probe Volume under Backface Culling, you can check Shadows too and see how it acts in your scene. Render Method must be Blended and Transparency Overlap checked. Checking Transparent Shadows may have an interesting effect depending on how you have set up your nodes. You'll have to tinker a bit with the color ramps until you get a satisfying result. Changing the Render Method to Dithered may result in some ethereal effect, so you may consider messing around with that if you want to add some spirit to your scene.
Thanks a lot! But I should mention, that after I turned on this Dithered render, glass became strange and noisy, so if you want result same to this video, you should avoid that Dithered render. (or maby this Dithered render thing works wrong only for me)
@@Protpat77 I though "ethereal" means "ghost-like". I checked the definition and that wasn't the case, but it's what I wanted to call the strange and noisy effect in case someone wants to make some ghost-like figures for their scene.
Is it possible to create materials for brushes like this? Say I want to create soil or paths for example to add in Unity.
Just getting into stylized rending and this tutorial is SO AWESOME thank you so much!
I used that idea you had about the noise on my environment texture just now (made from your anime HDRI tutorial lmfao) and that tied my "background" together and finally got my eyes tricked into seeing it all as one bg painting, and I just wanted to come back and say hell yeah, that's such a good idea. I've gotta use lower render sample settings to make sure they generate but the interplay of samples, nodes, and the kuwahara compositing you've also shown is really tying it all together.
What a priceless video. Unlimited appreciation for being able to watch it for free.
Yeh i just give up no clouds even though everything is set up like here even the math nodes
Just leaving a thank you.
Nice, but how do you make the liquid in the bowl or bottle??
4:08 how to make the edge have brown border like that ?
3:48 after connecting the imperfections it turned pink like when textures are missing
bit of a long shot but is there a way to make the first shader work if I have a handpainted texture instead of a generated one? It ends up putting a very harsh gradient through the center of my model no mater what i've fiddled around with
Im having an issue with my cell shadar, when I try the Emission Outline with the Solidifier, it seems to cover the cell shadar completely and only showing the outline. My theory is it has something to do with stopping the light from getting to the actualy Suzzane but idk. Any fixes or did i do something wrong?
Nvrm I fixed it. Anyone having the same issue, you need to turn the shadows on.
How can I find basic Color in my Blender?
Me dice que se renderiza en 118 hrs 😱
why the object doesn't cast a shadow
You're making mistake when confusing two different shaders for environment and characters. Watch carefully any existing "classic" anime. The environment has mass of shades and almost no outlines (most often). Characters wear plain colors and possess visible outlines. Besides there are different artists who draw backgrounds and characters in real anime production. Moreover, backgrounds can be rendered in 3D while the characters may be drawn in 2D with further merging at post-prod in After Effects. As well as tons of effects what can be seen in the final show are done using After Effects (flashes, glares, motion blur, gradients at characters' hair and eyes etc.). Hope this information will help you in further researches. : )
My Pc Was Never Able to Render This.😭😭😭😭
Just want to add that you can create InLine (not Outline) with normal map and AO.
You're one of the GOATs of 2D shader tutorials in Blender right now.
Most underrated Blender channel right now.
is it able to bake this textures that use geometry nodes?
does the cube need to be have more vertices or is it just the default cube?
Please make full length tutorial step by step video
my tree appeared correctly in the viewport but somehow ended up grey when switched to cycles in the render viewport? Is there any way to solve this issue?
Hi Comfee, thank you so much for the tutorials you've put on YT. Especially the Cel Shader one, it was just what I needed for my storyboarding. I have a question on the sharp shadows in Blender 4.2, do you know of any settings or a way I can tweak to make the shadows from the light sharp just like it used to in 4.1? I have tried turning the steps in Shadow to 1 and Resolution Limit in the Lights to 0.00001 m but it just doesn't have the same effect. It gives this small jagged shadow when I zoom close and semi-believable sharp shadow from afar.
le falta explicar mas detallado
Exactly what I was looking for. Great vid
Thanks so much, i'm using it for an animated series and id love if you started making your tutorials with goo engine which is just blender for anime., But if you do the benefit is the learning curve is hardly any different itll just make your tutorials shorter and more specialized in my view so please give it a try.

I tried this shader for my thesis that I'm working on right now, but I have texture painted base colour maps and I'm not sure where to fit them in. Do you know how to integrate base colour maps without losing the integrity of the toon shader? Because if that's possible, that changes the whole game!!!! >:)
are you going to have any updates about how to best utilize previously re itroduces the light linking feature in eevee
Am I the only one it didn't work for?? idk what I'm doing wrong, but the shader worked, it's just as soon as I change the light color it turns black. Idk
