    Might be worth mentioning, but screen is basically the opposite of multiply (in usage, not mathematics). Where Multiply darkens colors by the % RGB of the multiplying color, Screen lightens by (1-% RGB) of the screen color. So with a black+white texture multiplying/screening a red color, multiply would be black+red, screen would be red+white. It doesn't only deal with desaturated colors though, for example red screened with green will give yellow, so it can be used in situations similar to lighten/add to blend colors in a way that brightens them rather than pure mixing.

    Dude, idk why youre nit talking about the noise node instead. Its clearlythe foundation of ur shaders and u have mastered it to the point where u could write a masterclass on it

    • @ComfeeMug
      @ComfeeMug  2 месяца назад

      @kenonerboy Thank you so much for your complement, that means a lot to me 😊 I made this video upon request from a subscriber who was having a hard time understanding the different functions of the mix node, and was wondering if I could share what I know. I think making a tutorial on the noise texture is a great idea as well, and I'll figure out when is the best time to make that video. Thank you for the idea! I'll add it to the list 😁

    Well this is a serviceable explanation for newbies, I do think that it's somewhat lacking in depth. A few of these nodes are not really explained well and overlays actually completely false. I think in a few months you might actually remake this video

    • @ComfeeMug
      @ComfeeMug  2 месяца назад

      @kenonerboy I'm sorry you didn't learn anything new in this tutorial, but I do appreciate your critique 😄 You're right, a few of these functions aren't fleshed out as much as others, but what I like about the mix node is that even a beginner's knowledge of it can be used to create some amazing results, and certain functions can be used in many different ways. I am always trying to improve my knowledge of things and share what I know with others, and would love to hear your explanation of the overlay function if you have time to share 😊
      I hope you're doing well, my friend, and thank you for your comment.
