My R50 squeal turned into a death rattle. I eliminated the a/c unit and the squeal & DEATH RATTLE went away! The Gates belt number to eliminate the a/c unit is K060305.

ITs not boosting as you don't spend any time on boost.. - more power

Hello, great informative vid… The short earth horn cable that you added an extension to. Where was it located after you pulled out the horn? Do I have to pull out the clock spring to find it? I’m about to do same swap as well. Keep up the great work! NYC

Thanks for the ONLY proper video I’ve seen so far showing how this is done. You could have made your own horn ground jumper cable with just a bit of regular wire to save yourself a few bucks.

Hey, realize it has been a minute but is there any way you could tell me what the thread pattern is in the three bolts used to pull the dampener are. The (3) bolts that go through the disc part of the tool and thread into the actual dampener to,pull it as you screw in the bolt that applies tension to the crank. Is this clear enough? Thanks in advance!

Your mini sounds exactly the same as mine, i think it was high intake air temps reducing power they do heat soak even with bigger intercooler

Realistic expectations for most MGB's here and so nice to see from this un biased restoration. I have owned several of these and seen a lot more. I would say that most of the listings on Ebay will not be much better; probably all nice and shiny though. These cars are soooooooo easy to botch up and sell on. Proper restoration is very expensive and some may even be on their second "rebuild" by now. £600 sounds ok for the car you bought and you could possibly have shelled out £10,000 for an un-documented "rebuilt" example of similar quality. Will enjoy seeing how you get on, sounds very interesting.

Suggestion for anyone else doing this job... Replace the rubber bushings in the belt tensioner with Powerflex urethane bushings. I put a new OEM tensioner on mine and within 8k miles, one of the rubber bushings disintegrated. BTW, The new OEM bolt already had thread locker pre-applied. No need for additional thread locker.

Do you need to raise the motor or no ? cause on lot of video i see people raising motor

@Cleo @Cars and Bras, i also have a R53. What extra cooling mods do you have for when you are on track? Like oil or transmission oil cooler?
