I did this a few years back- instead of cutting away the strut turret, I cut down a standard 90 bend Allen key which slotted under the turret and allowed enough rotation to be adjusted.
Lovely to see you work on yr car in a Garage and nice to meet you Hannah.. wished I lived more near so I could book my mini in... As for the MG project.. the 1.6 import Mazda mx5 will take a turbo with no internals needed... just thought I would mention that Hannah.... Bless Both of you ❤️
Both of you are FAB I just pray for Cleo to have a garage 1 day no matter how small as her videos have helped me so so much with my R53 which i new nothing about till i started watching Cars and Bras your my teacher Cleo.. Hannah, Big up your self hun! both of you stay safe with the second lock down... in the morning will be changing my fuel filter and bypass shut off valve.. MY SELF LOL BLESS.... :-)
Thanks to Cleo, I now enjoy the R53 Cooper S and I drive it more than my Audi S3 😳😁 now it's been tweeked, mapped, and all the bits done... I just love it!! 225bhp thanks to watching cars and bras videos and a few others... It's enough power for me in a R53 Luv it 👍🏾🐵♥️
Nice job girls, I'm looking forward to seeing how well the handling improves after being set up and corner weighted 👍, I think you will feel a big improvement on turn in. Love to see updates on Hannahs MGB GT 👍. My R53 is going to hospital on Wednesday for a couple of rust issues under rear light clusters, she's very nervous 😬 but hopefully the surgery will make her look awesome again and we can get back to HOONING once more 🤣, and as a surprise I've bought her an OMP WRC alcantara steering wheel ready to fit when she comes home 🤫. Me too! It’s been a long time coming getting that sorted out and then an LSD will be next. Will be doing some videos with Hannah on the MG over the winter :) Hope the R53 is all good and the steering wheel is a great upgrade 😏🤙🏼
you could of dropped the strut without taking off the whole wheel hub you can just pry it out with pry bars instead i understand you were trying to do it as safe as possible but just a bit of tip for you for next time. when you finally get the tracking sorted and to stop the mushrooming on the strut tower a upper engine brace will help with that.
Look forward to seeing what settings you go for in the geometry as I have all this waiting to do. Had mine in to my garage last week to remove some rather suspicious 380cc injectors I had fitted ( copies I think)..on putting the 330,s back on mechanic mate also refitted the standard coil pack on over the MSD one I fitted months before. Just a tip, and I suspect alot may disagree but on fitting it back I noticed an instant difference in the running and low down feel and remembered how good it was when it first went on over OEM part. And they are red too and everyone knows red adds horsepower - it's just how it is🤔, but in all seriousness for the cost it was one of the better choices I made. the list just gets bigger doesn't it for toys to fit and not trying to be a bad influence,just passing on experience...pages like yours have caused my wallet some abuse when we gather new ideas. Keep up the good work...I'm going for a thicker rear sway bar as part of my set-up which seems to be the way forward, are you doing similar? Daz
I have the same top mounts from Oli and got 1.7 deg neg camber on my mini. My only issue is the bearing clonkeds at slow speed when maneuvering do you have the same issue.
I’ve had them on for about 2 weeks now no clonking or knocking issues. I greased the bearings before fitting them due to this - might not be ideal for a daily driver as the grease will collect debris and wear them over time, but if maintained and cleaned then re-greased ect. it shouldn’t become an issue 👍🏼

Yes it’s got AP coilovers, pretty introductory but fine for fast road/track usage. If your looking at a more track focused car there are other more suitable coilovers such as Meister, BC Racing, KW Suspension, Bilstein and loads more

i have never seen someone pull axles to change struts before, generally the bottom balljoint is released then the tophats to drop and pull the strut.
