Don't label me as an addict
Joan Shepherd, FNP, has helped hundreds of people overcome their physical dependence on opioids, benzodiazepines, or alcohol at the Coleman Institute for Addiction Medicine. Here she shares her perspectives based on a recent conversation with a chronic pain patient who has only ever taken their pain medicine as prescribed. Well what I am gathering is that most of these. Moment are people who are going through hellish withdrawal, because they stop abruptly. You brain is looking for dopamine. You have to slowly decrease doses until you no longer need it. It and yes it takes counseling, prayer, positive and encouraging community. Do the work to get better. Exercise do all the healthy things and you’ll be fine. You shouldn’t do it alone. I am still going through it . Used to be a lot worse, cause I wasn’t listening to my doctor. You’ll know a good doctor from a bad one. They’re supposed to support you.

Chronic pain patients are not addicted to Opiods. They are dependent. A huge difference. Studies show that a very small percentage of people abuse their medications. This woman needs to check her facts and edit this video. I have nothing against detox but don’t assume all of the pain patients are addicts. That’s just ignorant. Detox programs have a place and are good for those addicted to street drugs. Stop grouping chronic pain patients into a category in which they don’t deserve to be in.

Amazing! A doctor that actually knows something about recovery. Bless you Dr. I cannot begin to tell people how crucial it is to FORCE yourself to workout. It’s the best thing you can do to help make yourself feel better. Plus, getting in shape and cleaning yourself up, haircut, dress better, etc. will help you to love yourself again. It takes a bit to actually look at yourself in the mirror. But I’d go one step further Dr. If you read the 12 steps of AA/NA, you will see a common trend. Like 7-8 steps are associated with the addict/alcoholic needing God’s (higher power) assistance. My breakthrough was as simple as this. If You were to wake up sick as F what is your first thought? To get more right? We’ll if you read the Bible, you will see that this priority is a form of idol worship. That does not make God happy to say the least. You need to catch yourself and prioritize God as number one on that thought list (Rehabs touch on this “stinking’ thinking’”, but most miss what it’s saying). Then He will break the bondage you have to the substance. And if you do this sincerely, the door will open for you to come out. Good luck. Please share. Oh and if you know anyone that is getting foul sores/amputations from the Tranq. Please pass on this tidbit. Ok so if you shoot on one side of say your arm, in the muscle that causes the major motion. (On fore arm it’s be the underside). We’ll sores will heal on this side. But if you miss on the top of the arm (the muscle that brings your arm back) then those sores don’t heal. If Lil they can pick and pick and it’ll go away. Not true for those smaller muscles that return the motion (again think top of fore arm). Just don’t even attempt on the return motion sides of your limbs. Only matter of time, you will lose them, sadly. But hey, you have the secret code. Preworkout, bcaa’s, protein, eat well, and finally begin sleeping more than an hour after a month or so. And rearrange the order your brain works. When you first wake up and think, omg I’m detoxing, stop yourself and thank and praise God first. For me this is Jesus, God, and Holy Spirit, and archangel Michael for good measure. For if you are set free by Him, you are free indeed. I don’t mean to turn anyone off with the God thing, but even if you say obsessively workout and put that to the top of your thinking list, you will only have substituted working out for your addiction. This may seem alright. But it’s not. Bless all who have struggled, still struggle, or have been lost to this most EVIL of substances! And Dr. Thank you for figuring out the exercise, cannot begin to tell you how 😡 it makes me when you go to rehab and they let you workout 30 min 2 days a week. EVERYDAY, rotate muscle groups so ur muscles get a day off to grow, but yeah. Get those friggin Endor(morphines). They’re just enough to make your recovery weeks and not years!

This is is mostly false information as proven by Dr Christopher McCurdy and his colleagues; Dr’s and Scientists in 2023 and 2024. It DOES NOT affect respiratory rate and NO ONE has died from pure unadulterated Kratom! Somewhat addictive as it’s a plant in the COFFEE family. All in all it has helped addicts get off Heroin and other opiates. Additionally-several pharmaceutical companies have patents awaiting the synthetic Kratom they are working on! So of course they want to ban it - so they can make MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of dollars off of it. Just like the doctors in PROP bought stock in Suboxone prior to it coming on the market shortly before they put the 2016 Opioid Guidelines out by the CDC. The founder is said to receive $250,000 and more to testify in court on the dangers of opioids and the safety of SUBOXONE (which causes tooth rotting and loss) and continues to increase his millions of dollars.

What I remember most was feeling like I got shot in the gut every 10 minutes before shitting myself cause my guts were twisting in knots...PLEASE, wait at LEAST 72 hours before even microdosing

The high from opiods r so strong id marry the high if i could .. and being almost 10years on pain killers now idk if im ever going to be able to return to the peace of mind i had before any drug use ever ... Iv tried Suboxone and for ab 4-5 months and i like the effects but its too similar to the high itself that i just simple want to abuse it , and i did/do kratom for ab 2 years and thats alright besides the fact of having to drink this nasty kratom everyday and it barely even giving me the feeling i want , i heard a good quote from someone, they said "it will take you just as much time staying clean as you've done them to get back to normal"... I've gotten about roughly 2-3 months, maybe 3-4 months clean from the pills and that was the longest ever, I can say it didn't feel much different than it did about the 1st day detoxing from the withdrawals....

Kratom detox over 5 days.. that will be very uncomfortable if taking it long-term. Anecdotal evidence....switch from whatever hard opiate one's on to kratom...stabilize...take minimum amount of kratom to get rid of withdrawals from opiate...record frequency and dose...stabilize for 1 week with that frequency/dose of kratom...if one is ready...begin tapering from kratom...Rapid Taper=1-2 weeks...fast taper = 1-2 months...slow taper = several months. All depends on the individual

This is talk texted so pardon the mistakes in spelling, grammar etc. I remember the first time I went through precipitated with sub. I was at a detox clinic and it was night time so there were no major doctors there they had one on call. the head nurse suggested that they lower my dose of Subutex. I didn’t like that and the doctor finally called and said no do not lower the dose up it. So they upped it about 8 mg and I finally got some comfort and some sleep I will say that the older you get, the harder it gets. I have a lot of pain and I won’t say why but I do I’m over 65 years old and the first time I used Suboxone I was 52. And that was a breeze. I was so afraid of withdraw and it was easy and 24 hours after my usage, they gave me some Suboxone and I felt so good that I refused it the next time they asked if I wanted to take some and I didn’t take any for two days. I went home and smoke some pot and then all of a sudden went into panic mode. I called my doctor and he told me have you taken your Suboxone? I told him no I haven’t even picked it up at the pharmacy so I went and did that and I felt wonderful again. I think Suboxone is a wonderful drug and very helpful for those that have issues with opioids. But here I am still graduated to heroin and I absolutely need to get off of it. Life sucks right now so I’m going to go for it one last time. I’ve had some good clean time. It’s the people. Need to say goodbye to them because if I didn’t see them, I wouldn’t relapse so maybe I need to move. I don’t know I wish everybody the best of luck you can do it. I’ve done it and I will do it again and I don’t mean relapse. I’m getting off this stuff good I don’t have that many years left. I hope that I do, but by the numbers, it doesn’t look like it, and I’d like to travel a little bit and do some of the things that I wasn’t able to do because I have spent my money on dope. I wish everybody a quick and painless recovery. You can do it.

These governments need to quit taking laws into their own hands and start listening to the American people! It would surprise the hell out of me if we actually got someone in our government/Congress that cared about that. And they actually came and had sit downs in different regular neighborhoods with normal people and discuss problems real problems and got the thoughts and opinions on a lot of different important things from real American people. I'm just saying. And whoever was to run for president or governor/Congress On promising to start making decisions by sitting down and talking to the American people first in hearing their concerns comments and how we can all go about fixing things together as a country they would definitely win whatever election. If they actually meant what they said. But we all know that will never happen because they're all corrupt in my opinion and don't care about nothing but lining their own pockets with American people's money and staying in power.

I know this video was from over a year ago but I still feel the same way the government needs to stay in their own lane and try governing something and let these doctors do their jobs are opioid crisis is not due to pain management doctors writing prescription medication the opioid crisis is due to the fentanyl and heroin pouring into our country due to these open borders even when they wasn't wide open they were still pouring into our country That's where they need to start right there not with harassing pain doctors that most people who are going there actually needs It's not right for people who needs medication management an the doctors are too scared to do that nowadays even though they wouldn't be doing anything wrong the DEA still tries to find something somewhere to mess with them on. LEAVE OUR AMERICAN DOCTORS ALONE!!! THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC IS NOT FROM THE AMERICAN DOCTORS IT'S FROM THE ILLEGAL DRUGS BEING BRUNG INTO THIS COUNTRY START DOING YOUR JOBS AS OUR GOVERNMENT ON STOPPING THE FLOW OF ILLECT DRUGS COMING THROUGH AND THEN JUST MAYBE THEN THE OPIOID CRISIS WILL DIE DOWN!!! #Govermentneedstogovern #supportouramericandoctors

I have to buy my pain control meds from friends when I should be monitored and prescribed them by a doctor , the doctors prescribed me such low doses that don’t last or work period. I spend all the little money I have on pain control, I don’t drink alcohol or use illicit drugs never , but my pain medication is considered a schedule two narcotic which makes me a drug addict , can you believe that after all those years of driving semi truck I turned out to be a drug addict , I still suffer even right now .
