Hello Louise! It sounds like you had an amazing day! I am so happy that you got a day to just relax. I absolutely agree that your birthday is a day that slimming club can just wait on. I have seen some recipes for canning using potato starch to thicken soup. I also am going to try to do some gluten-free flours and it is suggested in some of the recipes that I’ve seen. So as of right now, I’ve never used it before. You’ll probably see what I do with it in the future though, if it all works out. Enjoy your new fluffy slippers! Hi Greta! The antifungal properties come from the juglone in the hull of the black walnut. This is something I found online… Juglone occurs in all parts of black walnut trees, but especially in buds, nut hulls and roots. Hi Robin! Welcome to our channel! I think the reason Jessica has that challenge is because winters can be really hard in our area. Sometimes going to the store when the weather is going to be bad there’s hardly anything on the shelves. I think it’s also the thought of, if we are filling our shelves with food that we harvest in the summer and we don’t use it then we end up with lots of extra on our shelves that doesn’t get eaten after preserving the next year‘s harvest. Or, maybe she just wants to challenge us to not spend money. 😁 I will say, though, most of the people doing this challenge are continually preserving throughout the year. Even through the pantry challenge. I will be canning things if I get them at a good price or given some items that we can’t use quickly. So I don’t think it’s a matter of eating up what is there, I think she wants us to have a lifestyle of continually preserving and eating and being self-sufficient. We cannot be totally self-sufficient where we are, but it is nice to know that I can go two months without having to go to the store very much. It made me have more confidence in storing food for family. I hope this has helped answer your question. If not, feel free to ask Jessica at three Rivers homestead. It sounds like you have been busy Ann! I just love how everyone refers to the chicken as “ugly chicken” 🤣 I mean, it’s not a lie! But man is it so good! I’m sorry that your cucumbers and tomatoes didn’t fair as well as they did last year. My tomatoes are very sad from lack of rain for the last three months. I have tried watering them, but they don’t want city water, they want God water! He did water them yesterday and we got a little over an inch. I hope that they are going to perk up and be happy. What a blessing that you still have tomatoes on the shelf from last year! Well, if you do, I honestly don’t think you will regret it. It is great for that type of thing. You have to can at least two jars when it is going. That shouldn’t be a problem though and canning two jars in it is much simpler than canning in a stove top canner! Blessings on your decision! 😁🤗

Thank you so much Julie! I figured they were cheap because they are so early. I will try to keep them cool until October then use some for decorating the front porch. 😁 This video was actually taken in my basement. I live in a 117 year old dairy barn that was turned into a house. The basement floor is made of old brick. That’s where they used to milk the cows. Someday I will do a tour of the whole house. 😁 I hope to hear from you again!
