@vickiiluvboxers4191 Thanks for the extra encouragement Vicki! 😁 I love it when my viewers encourage each other! That’s what a family is all about! 🤗❤️
I’m new to your channel through this challenge and you’re just a sweetheart to watch. I love how you focus on feeding others in your community and church. I learned that not everyday has to be a big preserving day, I learned to use a dehydrator, I also am learning how to make videos. While I’m not as good as you or other RUclipsrs it’s been a fun journey. Happy fall and I look forward to seeing your pantry challenge videos.
Welcome to our Open Hand Family! Thanks also for your kind words! On the days I had a lot going on I definitely threw something in the dehydrator. Almost felt like I was cheating! 🤦♀️ I can’t wait to check out your channel! When I started, my husband was helping with the camera and I had to tell him to turn it off (even though it was going well) and I just cried because I was so scared to do it. I felt God’s leading though, so kept going! 😁 You got this sister! ❤️
You are such a blessing to us, your family and community. I always learn something new from you. So appreciate your videos and Godly perspective. You have your priorities right. ❤️🙏🏻Val C
Dear, dear Friend, we all appreciate how much time and energy you put into your channel. You are genuine and transparent and simply a joy to spend time with. I look forward to Wednesday and Sunday to see what you have been up to each week. Your production value is very good but that is not why I watch. Be kind to yourself and know you have a virtual friend in me. Blessings
Oh Barb! Thank you so much for your kind words! I am so glad to have you as a new friend. You are a blessing every time you comment! Thank you so so much for being a part of our Channel. Love you, friend! ❤️😁
Good morning & God bless. I'm right there with you about the electric canner. I LOVE mine. I'm praying for a 2nd one. Sounds funny but the budget is very tight. Thankful I have one. I can't tell you how much your videos have meant to me. I had a few days that weren't the best and you helped lift me and get me back on track (God's work there). Thank you for sharing and never giving up.
Oh Kathleen, here I go crying again! Thank you for allowing God to lift you up through me. I so understand about the budget! We have done so many projects with more to go that I have to pick my choices wisely! I will settle for one now but also praying I can get another before next harvest season! Blessings on your week my sweet friend! ❤️😘😁
You are a treasure to me - a blessing. Every time I watch I breathe in your beautiful spirit and feel richer. Your service for God is undeniable and the kindness is always present. Each time I watch, I'm blessed and feel happier than before. I wrote this part of the comment BEFORE I watched to the end. I'm adding this so you can see how much you mean to me, also! I had no idea that you were going to say that heartfelt blessing and just had to add - we are on the same wave length for sure by the Holy Spirit. Love you my sweet sister in heart, Mary.
There I go crying again! Overjoyed that the Spirit can be seen in me. He called me to RUclips. I know He did! If for nothing else, to find my kindred sisters! I love you Mary! Thank you for your kind words sister! ❤️😁🤗
Good morning Penny. I completely agree about the electric pressure canner! I don't have to have my eyes glued to the pressure gauge for 75 minutes while canning chicken anymore. Best invention ever! I love your channel!
I have really enjoyed watching your videos. I am glad to hear that your husband really appreciates your hard work canning up meals. That is quite a bit of savings you accomplished, especially with the price of foods in the stores these days. I do not get to put up as much food as I would like, but I hear that voice in my head every time I do put something up, that every little bit counts. Whether it comes from the store or I grow it myself. I totally understand the problems standing on your feet in a kitchen can cause. I have to keep a stool in my kitchen, for days when my back is not being cooperative. I am really looking forward to the pantry challenge coming up. I always look forward to both of the challenges and try to watch when I can.
Hi Teresa! I am blessed that Mark does care that I am putting food on the shelves. And I understand you may not be doing as much as you want. I have only been able to do this the last few years and each year try to increase what I accomplish. It is a growing skill for me for sure! I knew there would be some of you out there who understood that standing in the kitchen and kind of half bent over motion attacking the back. That’s why I wanted to give some good tips. I’m glad you have learned to use a stool! Thank you so much for coming along and I hope to hear from you on a regular basis. I love getting to know my viewers. Blessings my new friend!
What a great video! It just makes good sense to take note and reflect on your efforts so as to inprove your work conditions! Still new to your channel but learning more from you each video! Thank you! And I need more aprons as well LOL! So makimg a winter sewing to-do list as well! Blessings on your family and your homestead my new sweet sister in the Lord! 🌻🐛🌿💚🙏💕👵

I’ll probably get some made this winter. I hope you get some new ones too! The simple things in life can be so exciting! Blessings to you! 😁

It sounds like you have been busy Ann! I just love how everyone refers to the chicken as “ugly chicken” 🤣 I mean, it’s not a lie! But man is it so good! I’m sorry that your cucumbers and tomatoes didn’t fair as well as they did last year. My tomatoes are very sad from lack of rain for the last three months. I have tried watering them, but they don’t want city water, they want God water! He did water them yesterday and we got a little over an inch. I hope that they are going to perk up and be happy. What a blessing that you still have tomatoes on the shelf from last year! It’s almost like our garden knows it’s going to be less the following year, so it gives us an abundance to work with when it can! 😊 Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. I love getting to know my viewers. I hope to hear from you again soon! Blessings friend. 🤗
I think you may have convinced me to pursue an electric canner. I don't want to take up the space but it sure would be nice to can up leftovers or the small batches of things from the garden
Well, if you do, I honestly don’t think you will regret it. It is great for that type of thing. You have to can at least two jars when it is going. That shouldn’t be a problem though and canning two jars in it is much simpler than canning in a stove top canner! Blessings on your decision! 😁🤗
Hi Penny! Im a new subscriber. I just want to tell you that your #10 was sent to me directly by God. I have been lamenting several long visits that I received this summer from friends and family that kept me from getting as much preserving done as I wanted. No more! What was I thinking!?! People are so much more important than vegetables. From now on, I will say "Thank you Lord for allowing me to host these beautiful folks. If I can't preserve, then I just can't preserve!". I really, really needed to hear this message. Blessings to you and your family! ❤
There I go crying again! I love it with the Holy Spirit reaches through that screen! It sounds like you are a blessing to many! Blessings to your family and friends as God uses you in their lives! ❤️🤗
I’ve never quite understood the purpose of eating for X number of weeks/months not spending money and eating up one’s larder. Seems to me a lifestyle of being frugal overall…along with storing/preserving/etc….is far more “practical.” Thoughts??? Thank you. First time visitor to your channel.
Hi Robin! Welcome to our channel! I think the reason Jessica has that challenge is because winters can be really hard in our area. Sometimes going to the store when the weather is going to be bad there’s hardly anything on the shelves. I think it’s also the thought of, if we are filling our shelves with food that we harvest in the summer and we don’t use it then we end up with lots of extra on our shelves that doesn’t get eaten after preserving the next year‘s harvest. Or, maybe she just wants to challenge us to not spend money. 😁 I will say, though, most of the people doing this challenge are continually preserving throughout the year. Even through the pantry challenge. I will be canning things if I get them at a good price or given some items that we can’t use quickly. So I don’t think it’s a matter of eating up what is there, I think she wants us to have a lifestyle of continually preserving and eating and being self-sufficient. We cannot be totally self-sufficient where we are, but it is nice to know that I can go two months without having to go to the store very much. It made me have more confidence in storing food for family. I hope this has helped answer your question. If not, feel free to ask Jessica at three Rivers homestead.
