Fates also started with a dream sequence/premonition of future events. Say what you will about Fates, but at least the opening dream had narrative meaning and so did the death of the character's mother.

I thought Giles was the Ghoul since he was with Fartique and Spit but nowhere to be seen after the murder but after hearing he was locked in a room that makes sense. It didn't click that Grimal doesn't have access to the Security room, that is definitely suspicious, never thought a werewolf would be involved, that surely makes this mystery more exciting

Three Houses is written for kids, there's no doubt about it. But the game still tries to have mature themes. Engage is straight up juvenile. It's for 3 year olds.

I wanna talk on horse. It seems horse is warning boy or someone else listening in about potential danger. He refers to a oracle so possibly someone from the future is listening in. I'm not even gonna start to try and decode it but I do have a idea on 3 of the 4 prophecies horse mentions on who they're about. Thine fader is in theory the easiest. Assuming horse is in fact talking to boy it's a warning that he may endanger door in the future. Or if it is someone else listening in then I am out of ideas. The second one may be a warning about Kevin and a potential fate. Kevin could end redeemed but he might just be doomed to die. The third is definitely the hardest. But I honestly think we are gonna see it soon. I believe the patriarch is Blacklaw. He and his son are already causing problems in the chapter house. In the end the ghoul may get away BECAUSE of him. The final one may be a warning to the end of the series. I haven't the slightest clue how this all is gonna turn out. But I don't imagine it's ending well.

I think Big D represents the Emperor of the TTS-verse before he was sat on the golden throne. This is the man who decided to kill the Gods, so that mankind can prosper and made an entire species bow to his dream. The TTS emperor however lost. He was betrayed by his sons and had millenia to stew in his failure. He is trapped in an endless war to remain sane, while his mind is ravaged by the warp and above all else he had to see the humanity he wanted to free turn into the very thing he wanted to destroy. He's a bitter and broken man who struggles to reinvigorate his optimism. Also D comes before E in the alphabet.

After the most recent episode, 4.1, and upon retrospect.... I'm actually going to disagree that Grimil was the Ghoul, and instead point to the deceased Fatique (I cannot remember how to spell his name out) While Werewolves have contempt for Humanity, that anger pales in comparison for Vampires and their ilk. Perhaps he was the biggest threat?

One way to interpret the epilogue is that it's kind of like a "what if" scenario or "alternate ending". What if instead of dying Carl had faced his demons and found some way to start over, despite everything? In this interpretation neither one is the true ending, they're just different timelines.

Fascinating to see someone have the same overall opinion as me but come to it in completely different ways lmaoo. Things the bugged the hell out of you didn't even land on my radar (like how they got up and down from the somniel), but things that were breaking points for me didn't bother you (like engage's character design). I might be reaching, but i think a hint that Marckus is actually a mage is directly in his name. Magic is spelled Magick in mage. The ck makes it real magic. Marcus is not usually spelled with a "ck". Also, that spell he unintentionally did takes at least Entropy 3, i think.

I was rewatching this and had a realization about kitten being a werebeast, namely a Simba. Firstly Simba's can decend from British people which would be good there but there is also something from TTS which I think this group would keep. In the episode about the Salamanders big E rips off Kitten's armor thinking kitten is being racist and finds out he has a dark skin tone. I totally believe that this group would keep that detail and that would boost the odds of him being a Simba or at least the kinfolk of one from one or more of his ancestors immigrating to Britain. I totally believe that these guys would retain that trait regardless of if Kitten is a werebeast or not as well why not.

THis is probably a bit crackpot but I feel like There's something up with that painting Kitten is in front of when he's having his fight with Grimal. It feels like very deliberate framing to pose him in front of a skeletal knight, it almost has Tarot vibes imo. Digging into some basic Tarot Knowledge, that would likely be XIII. Death(sometimes left unnamed, or called Rebirth/Death-Rebirth) which can symbolize not just literal death but more broadly Major Changes. Though what that change is, i'm not sure. Change seems impending for the Family, especially as they(rightfully) have drifted pretty far a field from their origin as TTS Expys. That said, its probably just cool framing that I am way over thinking, and not death flags for Kitten. i mean could you imagine the chaos if Alfa and the Ogre team killed Kitten a second time?

Yeah I'm personally of the opinion that D is immortal somehow, or rather, ageless, but that's like, his only noteworthy ability. He's not the God Emperor with untold magical/psychic powers or anything, he is just a very skilled Hunter. Hell I mean there's pretty strong evidence of this during the Pyotr fight when he gets pretty banged up as well. He clearly cares about his family deeply so if he was able to prevent them from coming to as much harm as they did by using more of his abilities I'm sure he would have. And like you said this way we still get some fun elements with D being justified in knowing so many things about the supernatural world and being extremely skilled and talented. But he's not some invincible god being. If he did turn out to have some supreme level of power that he's been hiding the whole time, the only way I can see the story going after that point would be for him to be killed shortly after it's revealed, which I mean, like you said I thought the point was to try and get away from Warhammer lol

Linguistics will be the end of us. I have always though of myself as personally conservative but politicly liberal. The problem with "conservatives", at least as it is defined in American politics is that they spout on about freedom, and individualism but persecute those who do not agree with their views. I have never understood their hypocrisy. I may choose to live my life in what others may perceive as conservative, however, it makes no difference to me how other decide to live their lives, so long as their freedoms don't impair mine. What do I can about others sexual identity or pronouns? Everyone should do as they wish within the boundaries of law; Period.

I don't if you still look at this video but earlier in Chapter 4 where Occam asked everyone to show their I.D... And on Fatigue's, it said he's a scholar of Lycanthropy lore. Not sure if that was why he died or just some flavor text.

I think the big ideological similarity between TTS Emperor and Big D is their faith in humanity. The Emperor made a whole deal about being insulted by being called a god, and his new cult was a cult to mankind. He wanted to inspire others to be greater than they were.

Funny thing is that I've played both FE and Dynasty Warriors so Three Hopes provided me with all the Story, Characters & Superb game design of Three Houses with just different gameplay that I didn't mind so I ended up loving Three Hopes too.

I feel I can provide a bit of additional context for Engage’s opening. Spoilers abound; The opening dream thing comes from a prior game in the franchise, Fire Emblem Awakening where the player character and a guy with blue hair and a sword are fighting a very evil looking glowing purple dude that’s secretly not secretly the PC’s daddy. Much like Engage, the friendly character(s) have dialogue that implies a shared history and the first thing we see after waking up with amnesia is everyone meeting for the first time. This not so subtly clues the audience in that we just saw the future. One slight difference between Awakening and Engage is that the dream in Awakening ends with the player character murdering the blue haired guy. Throughout the game we start getting additional context to what we saw: from the blue dude’s daughter pulling a Terminator, talking about how her dad was murdered by his closest friend, to the glowing purple dad being able to mind control you because you are the incarnation of Satan. It turns out that Satan also traveled back in time to stop the blue dude’s daughter from successfully pulling a Terminator and immediately attempting a Vulcan mind meld on the level 1 PC to recover from time travel. The very first thing we see upon booting up the game is a memory from a future version of the player character. The amnesia is a direct consequence of this action. Not only does Awakening have a more intriguing opening sequence, it also has a proper story based explanation. Engage, on the other hand, has no explanation for this vision of the future or the amnesia besides, “you were asleep for a long time idk.”
