I use a small speed square to square up the fence on the tile saw.

What is the make and model of the cutting machine, or do you have a link? The ones I’ve found are a little to expensive to justify for the amount of use. Thanks

Whereabouts was this? I've always wanted to have a root around an old bottle dump and I'm South Wales based, but I've never actually known where to start looking. Do you need council/landowner permission to big, or is it more a case of 'just make it look back to normal and tidy at the end'

To each their own personally. I found taking a bottle cutter scoring the bottle and taking it over a candle flame and dipping it in ice water was the best for me. 9/10 came out perfectly clean cuts doing so and no rest of glass dust particles. I do sand them down on the edges but with a mask on just was warned too many times about that crap getting in your lungs. Good video though!

What about hand polishing them? Some bottles get pretty stained and cloudy after sitting in the dirt for over a century lol.

Hiya mate I saw that you don’t live in wales anymore and I love watching the videos and noticed that a few of the tips your digging was wales I was wondering if there’s any chance as you don’t dig them anymore is there any you can share because I love the hobby myself and am sturggling to find tips near me in wales. Great find, Saxon pennies are always special. I wouldn't give up on the field just yet, perhaps digging and removing the iron in really bad spots and using a small coil to pick out finds in amongst it might pay off. I got my first Saxon penny that way, in amongst a load of scrap including a burnt out car!. Hard work but for a Saxon penny or something else special?
