- I had another belter of a day metal detecting on the big field, I had a full day of digging with lots of holes dug and lots of amazing bits of history recovered from being lost for centuries. I hope you enjoy coming along with me, I have enjoyed this land so much 😊

I love how you can walk over a field 20 times and still find lovely history
My 14 yr old got his first ampulla yesterday and we’ve done the same part of the field dozens of times 😊
It is amazing isn't it, even walking from a different direction can reveal so much more, as they say a field is never done. Well done on the ampulla 😁👍

A huge variety of finds. Loved the shotgun shells and the coin weight in particular. You'll need a spare room for your collection soon. 😂
I always have a look at the shotgun shells, sometimes they are made by a local iron monger which is cool! I do have a fair few take away tubs full of stuff but of course the best stuff is in the spare room....which happens to be the biggest room 😂😂😂

What a HAUL! Playing Major catch-up today. Loved the clog clip (?), but the soldado (?) giggle was the best. Advice bits were great and helpful, too... Clever clog clip 😁😅🥴

A day with this much variety must feel so satisfying. It's also a bonus that you understand about chilling out during the detecting, rather than being caught up in the next big find. 153 holes?!? That's nuts. You definitely are persistent. It's no wonder you find such good stuff.

Great video and great finds. Many years ago, I found here in Finland the counterweight of the Golden Angel. The author is Hans Focq 1589 Antwerpen. It has a picture of a hand on the other side.

Thanks, it seems there is a bit of everything on this field, yes it is a bit more mild now, around 12 degrees but forecast to get colder again next week but has the feel of spring in the air 😊👍

Hey how's things? Ah this field is the best one I have been on in ages, so much variety, it seems like they had a bit more cash here in Essex than they did over by Wales 😂😂

@@Notchedto11 cheers Marcus, I mean you seem to have a good spot there so no worries, my first one was pretty terrible and spent far too long there not finding much and with green waste too. Essex seems to have a lot of nice things to find 😂 I asked the owner here if I can bring a friend but he wasn't keen so didn't push it but hopefully I will find a decent place that I can do some collaborations on this year 👍

Thanks, so when they are like that and the smooth patina has been damaged by chemicals and feels a bit rough I give them a gentle rub with some very soft wire wool and it reveals the details underneath, don't over do it though or do that to anything valuable 😁👍
